Everything is a love letter from God.
Everything.
Even the things that don’t seem like love at all. His message is hidden in every one.
All you have to do is surrender. Accept the hidden message to your heart. Use it to grow and glow in the light.
Snakes
Last week a snake was in my path. It did not move, but lay coiled, looking at me. I could not walk around it. Plainly, it wanted to be seen.
Later, I realized it was a love letter from Home, my God, sending me a message I needed to hear at that time. The snake is a symbol of transformation. I needed to shed my skin.
In the days ahead, I started releasing things that were not useful to my soul’s needs. People that were pulling me down. Things that made my heart constrict. Places that caused me boredom.
I started choosing different paths. Shedding my skin, one piece at a time.
Whenever I could, I let things go. Released them from my world. Looked for new horizons.
And I have felt good about that.
If it doesn’t serve your inner needs of soul transformation, let it go.
There may be protests at first, from them, and a part of you. But that’s okay. It’s all for the greater good. Trust in the Messenger.

It’s all good.
The Beetles
This year, a scourge of red and black beetles attacked my house. They came in great swarms and settled on the roof and crawled under the shingles and down any small hole they could find. They even found homes inbetween the stones on the walls.
I quickly bought some Raid and attacked them back. Three cans later, they were still there, outnumbering me a million to one.
I searched on the Internet and discovered that they could not live if you sprayed hot soapy water on them. So I climbed a ladder and sprayed every one I could find. Then I got on the roof, a spray bottle in each hand, and sprayed some more.
But every day, no matter how many I killed, they came back. Now, they are at every window of my house. I am getting ready to go out there again with my hot soapy water, but I am beginning to relax a little.
These beetles are a love letter from Home.
The message is to be relentless when the enemy attacks. You can’t expect to kill the enemy in one battle. They have reinforcements. No matter how many times you try to get rid of them, you have to be aware that they are out there and you have to be always vigilant and ready with the right weapons.
It is a good message.
The enemy attacks through our mind into the smallest crevices. We are always letting out guard down, and they take advantage of any weakness. They crawl inside and before you know it, they have multiplied and are taking over.
The message is to not ever think the war is won. As long as you live on this earth, the enemy will try to attack you. But don’t be afraid. Just be ready.
And don’t let it bother you. After all, they are just beetles.

You have more protectors on your side, with more power, than any enemies can conquer. Just be patient, have faith, call on your highest resources. And don’t let the bugs get you down.
Changing direction
Sometimes you need to take a different direction. Get out of your usual routine and try something else.
Last week, I decided to get up early and go to my favourite park on the lake. I was going down the road when I came to an intersection. I could either go right to the park, or go straight ahead to a different county.
My heart said to go straight. So I did.
It felt so magical to just be listening to my inner messages. That was clearly a love letter from Home.
I drove not knowing where I was going or why, but feeling such a sense of freedom. I had abandoned my usual route and was taking a step further. I felt a sense of adventure. I was lovely!
Driving along, I followed the signs. What felt right? I just kept driving. When I got to the Sandbanks sign, I followed it. I had not been to that park in a long time, always having made excuses that it was too far, or I didn’t have enough time, or I was too busy. This time, I just went.
I was not disappointed. There were windsurfers everywhere on the lake. The storm from the night before had made huge waves and there was a sense of excitement and joy. The sun shone on the high waves and the silhouettes of the windsurfers was magical. I took pictures and talked to people who had come from hundreds of miles to enjoy this day and this place. And here I was too!
Sometimes you just have to step out of your own way, and follow your heart. It might surprise you with a huge hug.

I’ll never forget the sight on the shores of Lake Ontario that day and how I found it by following my heart. Thank you, God.
Watch the Sky
One of my favourite things to do is to watch the sky. I get such wonderful messages from Home by seeing the clouds, the sunshine, the moon, the stars, the sunrise and sunsets.
If there was a perfect way for God to communicate with us, this would be it.
When the sun bursts through the clouds, it’s like a personal Hello!
At night, the moon and stars beckon from a universe vaster than I can imagine. This love letter tells me that I am loved, beyond my wildest dreams. From the Infinite, little me is held in the palm of His hand. Cherished. Loved. Blessed.
Sometimes it is just a reflection we see in the lake. But know what Truth is out there.

There along the sandy dunes was a perfect reflection of sky and sun. If we look, there are messages everywhere. Love letters from Home.
Diversions
Sometimes the world is too much with us. We can get bombarded by all the stuff that is out there, floating around in the news, the world situation, the relatives, the job, the whatever. Sometimes we just need to get away.
Sometimes a love letter comes in the form of a diversion. You need to take time out, to regroup, to get back Home.
I found a couple of books in a book sale at a local fair recently, just spotted them from a mass of books piled on a table. Of course, they were meant for me. I don’t look at anything as coincidence any more. Serendipity is more like it. Synchronicity is God’s tool to reconnect without us really knowing it.
God knows I love books on the ancient ways in Celtic lands, and so there they were, a couple of a series on Arthur. Loved it. Realized there was one book missing, but checked with the library and they had it. Now, fully immersed in the first of the Arthur series, I spent serious time reading. Not being drowned out by the wailing world, or put down by the clouds of doom everywhere, I was in my own world, about 435 a.d. I had a hero, I could see the Romans and the Britons fighting it out, listen to the sound of Welsh names rolling off the pages, getting excited about the ancient names for the lands of that time and locating them on a map.
Escape. Sometimes you need it.
I consider reading a good book one of God’s love letters from Home.
Home is where the heart is, and he sure knows mine!

Who doesn’t love a good battle, where the hero always wins? Go Arthur!
Diversions can take many forms, a walk, a talk, a book, a movie, whatever gives you time to relax and enjoy life. There is too much in the world that can erode our inner peace. We need to be aware of that, and to get away from it all, even if just for a few minutes or a few hours.
Charity
There’s a little boy in Nicaragua who writes to me whenever he can. When I get a letter from him it’s definitely a love letter from Home.
I have been sending money through the Christian Children’s Fund of Canada to this boy who is now 11 years old. I know a little bit about him, and he knows something of me. We live worlds apart, but our hearts are together.
The last letter I got he thanked me for the money to get new clothes at Easter. A small thing, perhaps, but when you are very poor it means a lot. At the end of the letters, he always asks God to bless me.
I feel blessed just knowing him, and glad I can help in some small way, a child who lives a world away.
There is something about giving that means so much to God. I feel that He cares so much for each one of us, that if we can just help each other out even a little, it is like our heart is doing His work.
Here is a picture of my little boy Cristhiam.

How could you not fall in love with this precious child? And there are many more like him, and families that desperately need your help. I have never donated much to charities before, because there was always a good excuse not to. But this little one won my heart. And, surprisingly, his birthday is the same as mine! Love letters from a child of God. Many blessings.
Apple pie
Sometimes love letters come in edible packages. My mother always used to offer homemade apple pie to her visitors. Or oatmeal cookies with raisins. She always had something to offer people who dropped in for tea.
That was her way of saying you are welcome, and it made you feel good. Edible love letters speak to the heart, not just the stomach.
Even if you’re not a great cook, you can appreciate others’ offerings. Many people bake with love, and it shows. When you taste their food, it has a vibration of love baked right into it.
In fact, try doing that. Baking with love. While you are preparing food for someone, or even just for yourself, make sure you are in a good state of mind. Put your heart in it. Stop and feel the blessings of your life all around you. Be grateful for all you have. Then when you add the cinnamon it will be spiced with love letters from Home.
Feeding the birds is another way of offering love to the creatures of this earth. We all share the same small planet. Every day, I put out birdseed and suet and enjoy watching the bluejays and chickadees come around. Even the mourning doves pick up leftovers on the ground. Chipmunks and squirrels find their way up the apple tree to the bird feeders and maneuver to get some seeds for the long winter ahead.
Love letters to the hungry, mixed with God’s love.

There’s nothing prettier than a bright bluejay at your feeder !
Creatures
God’s creatures bring us comfort and joy in times of our lives when little else does. I can remember a cat curling up on my lap, purring, bringing me such a sense of peace when all around me was turmoil.
Just tune into that peaceful energy and listen only to that. Let the rest of the world pass by as if nothing else matters. Indeed, it doesn’t. For only peace matters. The rest is chaos and will sort itself out.
A dog looking up at you with loving eyes is the same kind of love letter from Home. In those eyes are unfathomable love, unconditional, pure. It wants nothing else than to be with you. Your presence, as little as you think it matters, means everything to a loyal pet. Treasure that bond.

To listen to the purring of a feline friend is to know peace in your heart.
Fall
A walk in the fall foliage and see the leaves in full colour is a natural blessing. Around every corner and across every lake is a collage of colour that bring joy to the hungry heart. There are blessings everywhere. Drink it in!
One day it is cold and blustery and the next day the sun shines. You never know what the weather will be like, but you can enjoy it whatever it is.
When it rains, put on a raincoat and go for a walk. When the sun shines, tilt back your head and see the magic in the skies. Clouds have golden linings when the sun shines through. Can you see what is written there?
No matter the season, there are love letters from Home written somewhere. You just have to discover them.
In the deep of a Canadian winter, when the snow is piled high, put on your boots and go for a walk. The cold is bracing and gets your attention. Learn how to ski or just enjoy the hike. Know that everything is part of the Kingdom. Don’t complain about it. Just learn to appreciate every aspect of it.
Letters of love are sometimes written as the leaves descend.

Some of the prettiest journeys are just a short walk away. Allow the magic of nature to fill you with hope and strength for the day, and for the darker days ahead.
Friends
Some of your best moments are spent with friends or family. Cherish the good times. Forget about the bad times. Forgive and forget.
Not everybody gets along all the time. But when there are good moments, think of these things. Remember that inside each person is a little piece of yourself, for we are all connected. Maybe not by blood, but by one spirit.
Inside this earth is heaven, whether we know it or not. Our choice is to cherish the blessings and appreciate all we have. Let the rest go. Shed that skin of pain and hurt. Step forward into the Light.
Your friends are God’s love letters from the Home of your own heart. Treasure them.
