ODE TO A PLANET

Under a tree sat a Woodland Gnome,

And he said to the Elf, “Elf come out of your home.

There’s a rumor around that humans abound.

Till’ we catch one, these woods we shall comb!”

Coming out of his house, the Elf said, “I agree.

By the look of this place ‘tis quite plain to see

There’s someone else here

Who cares little, I fear,

If this planet survives, or we flee.

Some folks looking out on a smog-filled sky

Thought – is it too late, and I wonder why

We were blind for so long

To the things we’ve done wrong.

This job can’t be left to the other guy!
