I am excited to share the YoJo Diet with you, but first I should probably tell you a little about myself and where the YoJo Diet came from.

My name is Jamie and I grew up in a smallish town in Oregon. When I was 33 I divorced and became a single parent in what seemed like the blink of an eye. It was a hard time for me, raising an infant on my own and working two jobs to stay (almost) afloat! It seemed like I was always in the car, going to or from work. I quickly became an American statistic, chowing down on fast food burgers while driving from one place to another or relaxing in my short amount of free time. It wasn't long before I was bloated with extra weight. My back hurt. My legs hurt. My soul hurt. My health was declining rapidly! I remarried in 2011 and thought everything was going great until I had a massive infection that sent me to the hospital for days, followed by a surgery. I had multiple abscesses that had to be removed and my doctors told me they were caused by my acute Type 2 Diabetes! I had no idea!! I was told that if I had let it go much longer, I would have most likely died. I was only 44! Needless to say, I paid attention!

For years I had been a chef and had toyed around with making fresh, homemade Greek Yogurt. I knew well the benefits of the stuff, so I set out to use it correctly to lose weight. First, The Greek Yogurt Diet was born. The plan is wonderful and it helped me lose my first 30 pounds with ease. After a year of refining, I decided to add some additional benefits to the yogurt. After reading about the phenomenal health benefits of gelatin and how we were just beginning to understand the stuff we've all eaten since we were kids, I decided to use a play on the recipe you will find here. YoJo has been made in various forms as a dessert or salad, but I decided to refine it, standardize its calories and carbs, and amp-up the fiber for maximum weight loss potential. What resulted, by replacing my daily breakfast with a 2-cup serving of YoJo and a slight increase in exercise, was a 35 pound weight loss. My blood sugar came into better control and I am no longer on insulin! How about that?

YoJo: What The Heck Is It?

Put simply, YoJo is combination of the words Yogurt and Jello (sort of)! But it is so much more than that. YoJo is a creamy, super flavorful and über beneficial food that is all wrapped up in a low carb, low calorie package! When amped with some simple additions, it can provide fat-busting fiber and other nutrients that will speed you on your way to weight loss and good health!

Nutritional Benefits of Gelatin

Gelatin has been used since at least the middle ages as a gelling agent for foods. It is often used to suspend fruits, vegetables or meats as an entree or side dish. It can be used as a glaze or as a thickener in dishes such as an aspic. We are just now starting to understand some of the incredible benefits this nutritional wonder provides. Here is just a handful.
