Getting Started as a Writer
Hello future writers. I would like to start by saying that if you’re reading this book then you're already ahead of 95% of other inspiring writers. Chances are that you’ve bought other books in the past and were disappointed at the results. Don’t worry, I’ve done the same thing. They all seem to go around in circles, never really answering your questions. This book will not do that! I’ve carefully chosen the most effective path to start your writing career without using a penny from your own pocket. I personally use every method that I recommend, so I know they work.
So let's get down to what you want to know. There are several questions that you want answered. By the end of this course, I will have answered the following questions:
Is it possible to write for a full time income?
How do I get my book published?
How much money can I make by writing?
How can I write for a full time income?
How can I start without using a penny of my own money?
Now there are a lot of other books on the web that are designed to try and answer these questions. So why is this one different? The answer is simple. I’m going to show you how to make money from writing in the very first step. I’ve found that the best way to learn is through experience. So why not go ahead and start making money while polishing up your writing skills? Now you’re probably eager to begin Step 1. However, there are a few things I would like to discuss before we move on.
Mindset
First and foremost, let’s talk about mindset. In my opinion, this section is the single most important part of this program so read carefully. A writer must have the proper mindset in order to be productive. However, this same philosophy applies to every form of business, just ask anyone who owns their own business - or should I say, anyone who owns a successful business. Writing, believe it or not, is a business. Did you know that 90 out of 100 new businesses fail? And of those 90, a majority of them fail because of an improper mindset. Here are a few mindsets that can cause you to fail:
Unrealistic Expectations
Lack of a business plan. (Yes, writing requires a business plan.)
Poor Time Management.
I hope I haven't scared anyone, I just wanted to be perfectly clear. After all, the best way to succeed is to learn from the mistakes of others. So let's take a closer look at these three failings, that way you will know how to prevent them.
Unrealistic Expectations
This is the number one cause of new business failure and the single biggest mistake people tend to make. Browse through the Internet and you'll see all the ads that read, “Make $100,000” in a week. The Internet is cluttered with get rich quick schemes. Most fail - believe me: I've tried a bunch of them. The ones that actually work tell you from the start that it takes time to make money. At least those people are honest! The truth is that it takes time to build a business - including writing. However, you will be pleased to know that you've picked the cheapest route. There are no start-up costs!
With that said, this is not a get-rich-quick scheme. I'm going to show you how to be a successful writer and eventually that will lead to a high income. In fact, you could easily make $50,000 your first year! Better yet, you can be drawing a six figure income in just your 2nd year! Setting goals is a very important step and I will discuss that later in this book. For now, just know that if you think you're going to be rich within a month, then you're most likely in for a rude awakening. On the other hand, getting rich within a year or two is a high possibility.
