Prologue

The world was aglow with swirls of pink and violet light against the black and starry universe. And from this infinite space emerged a spirit who brought balance and harmony to life and all the natural forces. She sat on the tip of the earth’s highest mountaintop to watch the sun rise. Soft clouds amassed at her feet and she dipped them in luxuriously.
Her attention was drawn down to a clearing at the edge of a forest with a sparkling silver pond at its side. The ancient earth here was a sacred site as it was here that a hidden legend could be found. Many people had journeyed from distant lands to seek out its mystery, some getting close but not finding it, for in reality it could not just be found. The spirit drew closer, for she felt another being approaching the sacred ground, a woman…
The woman was a being of a kind called human. Humans lived on earth and were able to expand the universe’s energy through their many gifts and love. The forces loved humans, as it was through the presence of a true human that you could feel the magnificent power of all creation.
The forces of nature had a special role in the lives of humans. They reminded humans of the power of life that surrounds them in the balance of all nature. Nature’s forces also served as guards to an enchanted forest that a human could enter if they were truly able to listen to nature with their hearts. The forest held the key to understanding life’s many gifts and mysteries.
Before time existed, when humans spoke the same language as the wind and the stars, people entered freely into the enchanted forest. They came seeking answers to questions about the world, life, death, war, and love or had brought wishes from their true hearts desires. The natural forces helped them in their journey so that they could gain greater understanding of the universe. And with this greater understanding, they could manifest beautiful things. They used their minds, voices, hands and vision to create new and possible realities and to be good to the earth. But over time, people got lost in the worlds they had created for themselves, and their connection with the universe weakened. The enchanted forest became an ancient legend amongst the people…
It was then that the forces started to guard the entrance to the forest. Humans who had lost connection with the universe could not be trusted with the secrets of life for they started to use them for their own purposes and hide the truth from others. To guard the forest, the forces created a gateway in the form of a silvery pond. Only people who were gifted a dream to their hearts from the forces could pass through the depths of the silvery pond to the forest.
The journey through the enchanted forest was timeless. There was no beginning or end, it just was. Its existence belonged to another dimension, let’s say another world that was parallel to all others. Visions of it were described as a waking dream where all things are possible and a wish made by a true heart is granted. The end of the journey leads to a place where magic, is everywhere you look. And so…

Chapter One ~ Spirit dream

A long, long time ago, the legend of the Enchanted Forest was awakened in a dream…
It was a dream sent out to people by the natural forces of the world, the sun and the moon, the wind and the water, earth and fire… A dream to keep the world’s magic alive in the hearts of people and preserve goodness in the world.
The dream kissed sleeping eyes with vivid glimpses of the magic of an enchanted forest; a forest where the trees spoke words with the swaying of their branches and whispered tales into the air. Alas, not all those remembered their dreams and the forest’s magic was lost to the night’s darkness. It was only by the power of the new crescent moon and a sky full of stars that the dream lingered long enough for it to become real…
For those who awakened with the spell of dreams still upon them in the morning light and heard the birds singing of the story of the enchanted forest brought their dreams back to them. A voice inside their hearts spoke to them of an Enchanted Forest where wishes made by true hearts were granted.
And so it was on this night shining with stars and a sliver of a crescent moon hanging in the sky that a young woman awoke with a start from a deep sleep of vivid dreams. The sea breeze called to her from the open window and she looked up and felt a star twinkling upon her. The star seemed to speak, urging her to come forth into the night.

She wrapped her newborn baby in a cloak and tenderly held her close as she stepped out into the night. A curiously small glowing bubble, glinting in the night rolled across her feet. As she leaned over to grasp it, it lifted up and glided away in front of her. The woman, entranced, followed it further along the path. Each time it came close and she went to touch it, it would take air and glide along the surface of the land. Further and further she chased it into the night until she paused to the sound of the soft melody of water playing in the air.
Looking down, she found her toes perched at the edge of a cliff, clinging over the last bit of rock. She stared up at the twinkling star that had magically led her to this spot amongst the stars. This was the closest she could approach it and she wondered why it had called her here. Suddenly she felt the wind surge and she kept firm, balanced in her feet. She clutched her baby close against her pounding heart and stood still against the force of wind. She felt alive in the gust of air swirling about her, the freshness of it found itself deep in her lungs. In a moment it all stopped, the wind gave way to complete stillness. She let out a deep breath as the stillness was broken by the morning’s first birds call.
