Introduction
Hello, my name is Greg. I am from Poland, I was born in Poland, I live in Poland and probably I will spend the rest of my life here in Poland. However I would like to tell you something - I love traveling. I’ve been to many beautiful places. I’ve met so many wonderful people. But most of all, I love and really appreciate all these people, who decided to spend their precious time on learning to say something, some words or phrases in my own language …. Polish language.
Why? Maybe because these people seem to be friendlier to me or simply they want to make me feel much more comfortable and happier in their company. Or something else, maybe I have just an incredible sense of humor, because Polish language is so difficult that we all should be grateful to anybody for even trying to do so. It’s said, that Polish language is one of the most complicated languages in the whole world. Maybe it is, maybe not. You can only learn Polish as you mother tongue or never. Surely it may seem to be very difficult especially for many English speaking natives. But this e-book is addressed to many different nationalities; English natives are welcome here as well.
I would like to communicate with you in your own language, but I cannot. I am writing this e-book in English, however the language used here is very simple and I guess it is not even 50% grammatically correct. But it is not the point here. I chose English language because I believe that if you decided to read this e-book, you will understand me and appreciate what I am offering to you.
Even if you think that this e-book is not addressed to you, I believe you will still find my tips and tricks quite useful if you take a chance to learn more, or to be more precise, in much more different way.
For whom this e-book is?
The answer is quite simple. It is for all people, who will never come to Poland, because they don’t have to, they don’t need to, they don’t even want to, they have no time or money to spend on it or simply they have no interest in coming here to Poland, let alone studying Polish language and wasting their precious time.
Poland is a beautiful country, you can find so many beautiful places and things to see here and so many wonderful people to meet. You should really once come here to visit Poland, but you will not. You probably don’t even think about, and never will.
But instead, you have a chance to meet, talk to, stay in touch, work with and finally negotiate and sell different things or offer different services to Polish people, especially Polish tourists and businessmen. No matter if you are a serious businessman and work for a big and respectable company or you just run your own business and try to sell different things to Polish people. The very ones, that have just decided to spend their wonderful vacation in your country and you are the lucky man to see them enter you shop. These Polish tourists can be found in almost each and every country in the whole world, no matter what their reasons and goals are. They are everywhere, whether you like it or not.
What I offer is the way to communicate with all Polish people. My the idea how to get to know each other much better and finally I will help you to learn Polish language differently. And these are not going to be the typical lesson of Polish language.
Polish people who travel a lot, know foreign languages, at least most of them. Businessmen really do, that’s for sure but what about Polish tourists? Let us think for a while….. more or less, better or worse, but most of them really do. In almost every school in Poland English language is taught, in many of them German or French are taught, sometimes Spanish and Italian. Your language also may be taught if you speak others. Even the most exotic languages are being taught here.
Polish tourists travel as families, so if parents don’t speak foreign languages their children certainly do. Even if their children don’t, still all Polish tourists can count. They can count in English, German sometimes French and they certainly understand if you decide to count in Russian.
So what’s the point?
Simply... you don’t have to speak Polish to communicate with us and succeed.
I don’t speak English perfectly, because I don’t need to, and I don’t even want to. I am not a teacher of English. I am just the one, who came up with this idea how to help you to get acquainted with Poles.
As a tourist I found out that there are some good ways to improve our relationships. The ideas, that will certainly make us better friends and finally may prove to be good reasons for you to try to increase you capability to negotiate better and sell much more.
What do offer all these schools of Polish language to their students. These schools teach them how to speak Polish perfectly. Students have their reasons to do it but you don’t. They may want to live, work or get married in Poland, and I would be glad to hear more reasons.
But you don’t have to speak Polish language perfectly. Why? Because if you ask for something in perfect Polish, the answer you will get will also be in perfect Polish. And I can guarantee you, that you won’t understand a thing. So why bother?
I am not going to teach you perfect Polish, I am going to teach you “broken” Polish. What’s that? It simply means more informal and ungrammatical use of language. The only problem is how to say something in a way to be sure, that all Polish people will understand you and what your intentions are. But that's my problem not yours. Follow my lessons and you will see the results.
