Chapter 1. Biography of Fawnia Mondey

creator of the world's first Pole Dance video series, Instructor & Judge, Dancer, Model, Entrepreneur

I was born in 1975, in the small town of Kamloops, BC Canada. Until 1983, I lived in Calgary, Olds, and Sundrey, Alberta growing up in an average home, with my brother, and mother. It was when I was six, that my father and mother separated.

Jumping forward in time, I now live in Victoria, B.C. which is where I had my first taste of exotic dancing. I remember walking by the downtown stripclub called “Monty’s” and stepping in the door. There were four beautiful women on stage wearing sailor outfits, doing a choreographed routine for a cheering audience. Not even a minute had past and I was asked to show my I.D.

Needless to say, I was asked to leave being only about 16 or 17 years old.

For my 19th birthday, my boyfriend and I visited "Monty's”. He knew I was really needing to make some money, and while we were enjoying a show, he said "You should do this". "No way, I could never do that!" I replied. But by the end of the night, I found myself needing to know who to contact to start dancing. It just seemed right for me and I could not wait to get started.

I spoke to an agent in Vancouver, and with only three days until I was to meet him and perform at an amateur contest, I needed to learn all I could. Every spare hour was spent at "Monty's" watching the dancers. Sitting alone, I took note of how they moved, interacted with the audience, and couldn't help to notice how beautiful they all were.

My dancing career officially started on October 5th, 1994. Dancing under the name ‘Sky’, I worked in Western Canada, Northwest Territories, and in Belgium - Europe. Having started my first few weeks at “Monty’s”, where the entertainers were like super stars, (Venus Delight was one of them), I was emersed in the side of the business where we were thought of as dancers, and not peelers or even strippers. I was proud to be a dancer and everyone knew it, except for my family. Even though I hesitated to tell my parents, after about one month of dancing, they found out. This was a ‘perk’ of living in a small city. They were slightly shocked, but were relieved when I assured them I wasn’t doing drugs or prostituting. At the time I didn’t even drink pop or coffee!

Deciding to become an exotic dancer was the right move for me as I had always wanted to be an entertainer! Dancing provided the opportunity to make money, travel, enjoy the thrill of being on stage, and tone up my body. That's right, I lost 20 pounds as a dancer, and within months, began a modeling career.

Between January and November, 1995, I competed and won:

•Miss Nude Amateur World 95/96

•Canada's Western Champion 95/96 & Canada's Edmonton Champion 95/96

•Canada's Rookie of the Year 95/96

•North American Exotic Dance Champion 95/96

•Miss Nude Western Canada 95/96

•Miss Nude B.C. 95/96

It has been since March 2nd, 1996, since my last paying show. Why would I quit when everything was going so well? This is another story and lesson. I stopped dancing for a man that was no longer wanting his prized girlfriend to dance. My goal of being a top exotic dancer for 15 years, and never having to work again was shattered for him.

Looking back, my saying ‘good-bye’ to ‘Sky’ was a major blessing in the most mysterious disguise. It was then that I decided to teach and advise other dancers, new and experienced, about exotic dancing. The school for dancers was called ‘Skyline Services’, and I taught mainly pole work and critiqued shows.

Two years later, in 1997, I began dating a different man and it was his idea that I produce videos on how to dance. He created my website, and I began the production of my ‘Art of Exotic Dancing’ instructional video series. Today I have seven volumes titled:

“Pole Work” volume 1.

“Dancing Moves & Floor Work” volume 2.

“Fawnia Live on Stage!” volume 3.

“Lap Dancing & Entertaining your Man!” volume 4.

“Making Fitness Fun” (volume 5)

“Male Exotic Dancing” volume 6.

“Advanced Pole Work & Fire” volume 7

In 2005 I moved to Las Vegas where I still reside. I personally invite you to visit my studios and pole dance with me. If you are interested in one day teaching be sure to check out my pole dance instructors certifications.

Since going online, I have answered thousands of questions on all aspects of dancing, health, and beauty. I invite you to take full advantage of my experience and have a positive and prosperous career as an exotic dancer off and on stage!

Chapter 2: Bio of Georgia Lawrence

I was born and raised in San Jose, California. Prior to my relocation to San Diego, my only experience with strip clubs had been when someone had bet me a bottle of Dom Perignon (very popular at the time) that I would not go inside and watch the show for 15 minutes. It was the longest 15 minutes of my life, but never one to back down from a challenge, I did it. I won the bet; however, I was saddened by what I saw inside. This place was seedy and the women looked worn down by life; there was nothing sensual or attractive about them. I felt sorry for them, thanking my lucky stars that I was a high school graduate, soon to be going to a university and would never know such horrors.

Well, about 4 years later, after struggling to complete a college degree at a well known university and juggling a part time job as a waitress in a hotel restaurant, I was burned out. I had one more year left, the debt was mounting and the thought of trying to continue this pace while pursuing a masters degree was unfathomable to me. I just wanted to graduate, get my credit cards paid off, and stop stressing and start enjoying life a bit more! After wracking my brains trying to figure out how to do this, I met a few girls who danced at a popular club in San Diego. They told me that they were cocktail waitresses, they didn’t say that they danced, but even so, when I found out how much money they made "serving cocktails" I had to go investigate for myself. There were no “ waitress” positions open, so I went to work as a dancer.

Yes, I was now a stripper! Despite the judgements I had about the profession, I could see that the industry was growing and changing, the clubs were much nicer than what I had seen in San Jose, and the girls were much more attractive and fresh looking than the tired old gals I had seen previously. Some were even going to school, just like me. I said to myself "I can do this" and I did.

For six and a half years, that is how I made my living. I finished my degree, and moved to Las Vegas, where I began my path as a writer and consultant. I made a lot more money than I would if I had taken an entry level corporate job, and was able to travel the world and do whatever I wanted. I was able to live in a beautiful home, and to drive a luxury car, and to wear designer clothes. I began my "graduate" work in metaphysics, becoming a certified hypnotherapist and reiki master. I have been working in this field ever since, and if I had not gone against the grain and taken the plunge into exotic dancing, I would probably be in a job that I am not really suited for, overworked and underpaid.

Being a dancer gave me the courage to try new and different things, and toughened me up for the career I am in now. I met my husband at age 29, and he and I decided that I had accomplished about as much as person can accomplish in the field of exotic dancing, and so I retired soon after that to pursue writing and consulting full time.

Sometimes I miss the glitz and glamour, but most of all, I am just thankful to have had the opportunity to accomplish more before the age of 30 than many people do in an entire lifetime.

I am happy to share all that I learned and experienced with you! I did very, very well as a dancer, earning the nickname "The Master" from my coworkers. I was told many times that I should write a book revealing my strategies, and I thought that was silly at the time, although I was flattered.

There were other dancers who made more than I did and there were others who were prettier, however, I was forever being complimented on my unique sense of style. I had the right touch, the ability to know which customers were the big spenders and how to relax and let them come to me, rather than running around a million miles an hour asking every single man in the room for a dance. That pace was far too exhausting for me and very ineffective. I wanted to work smarter, not harder and so I mastered the art of finding just the right customer, approaching him at the right time, and saying the right things! If I made $1000, it was from one or two customers, and not fifty. I would stay with each customer until he was out of money or no longer desired my company, whichever came first! I would love to share all that I experienced with you.

Chapter 3: Questions for Fawnia

How long have you been dancing?

I danced from October 9th, 1994 to March 2nd, 1996, so about 1 ½ years.

How did you get started in dancing?

It was my 19th birthday and my boyfriend and I was at "Monty's Showroom Pub" in Victoria, B.C. Canada. He knew I really needed to make some money, and while we were enjoying a show, he said, "You should do this". "No way, I could never do that!" But by the end of the night, I found myself needing to know who to contact to start dancing. It just seemed right for me, and I couldn’t wait to get started.

I spoke to an agent in Vancouver, and with only three days until I was to meet him and perform at an amateur contest I needed to learn all I could. Every spare hour was spent at "Monty's" (club in Victoria, B.C. Canada). Sitting alone, I took note of how the dancer’s moved, what music they danced to, and how they interacted with the audience. I didn't think to ask about instructional videos or stripping lessons; I don't think anyone ever did.

What traits/characteristics do you need to become a good dancer?

If you want to be a great dancer, I think the main issue to think about is your confidence level and stage presence. People are attracted to those who are confident and fun to be around. If you have a positive outlook on your job, people can sense it and will be drawn to you.

Why do you dance? Besides the obvious financial benefits.

I danced because I truly enjoyed the power I felt while on stage. Being able to make an entire crowd of 100+ people cheer and enjoy themselves made me feel like a goddess.

Dancing presented the opportunity to travel, and enjoyed touring to different parts of Canada, and also enjoyed a hot stage in Antwerp, Belgium.

From dancing I also lost 20 pounds, and found my love for working out. There is more to working as a dancer than many people realize. Though its only those who want to see the benefits of being a dancer who do.

If you do or don’t enjoy it, tell us why?

Like any job, there is going to be something you can complain about, or wish you could change.

For me, I wouldn’t enjoy hearing men shouting, “Show me your shitter”. Even the feeling of dancing for men the age of my dad, or older was a feeling to get used to. Numbing myself mentally, and becoming ‘Sky’ as I dressed into my costumes replaced this uncomfortable feeling with a feeling of power.

Dancing increased my self-confidence. From growing up in a broken home, having a very destructive childhood, pan-handling on the streets, and being involved with a leader of a hate group, I now found myself in a position where I was completely in control. I was in control of not only my life, but I could control the emotions of those who watched my shows. The men were mine, yet I was not there’s. They didn’t mind, and neither did I.

Did you have a boyfriend when you started?

I was with my boyfriend Eric on my 19th birthday, yes, and it was three days later that I began.

Eric and I were together for my first year, and after we broke up, I started dating Rod, who worked in the industry as a waiter.

If you did have a boyfriend, are you in that same relationship now?

Rod and I broke Christmas Eve of 1996, and in May, 1997, I met Geoff, and we were together for seven years. In 2005 I met my husband Damon. We married after just four months and are living together in Las Vegas.

If you have had different boyfriends, did they have different views on what they thought about you dancing?

Eric thought it would be very suited for me to dance. He was supportive, and would critique my shows, making notes on what was good, and not so good. Since I lived in Victoria and there were only two clubs, (you had to choose between the two and stick with that one), I traveled a lot. Being away for 3 out of 4 weeks each month was hard, and after one year we broke up.

Eric and I are still in touch though and I would like him to find someone.

Rod met me while I was dancing and he worked as a waiter at “Monty’s”. My dancing career was going great, and in his eye’s I was a star performer. We began dating weeks before my 20th birthday, and with him being 32, he felt he would do anything to win me over.

Rod knew how the industry could change girls, making them emotionally harder, and self-destructive. Our relationship took a turn for the worse, and he would make me feel guilty for having to dance, travel, compete, and put so much effort into my shows. I enjoyed what I was doing but soon I hated myself as ‘Sky’. “Why are you trying to make stripping something that it isn’t? You are a stripper.” Wanting to 'save me' from what he saw happen to many other dancers, and he asked me to quit or leave him. It had gotten to the point, after months of arguing, Rod would no longer stay with me if I were continue working as a dancer. This happens to MANY dancers.

At first I said 'Good-bye Rod', and cried my way through my next show, not removing my cat mask. Only hours later, I was packing my bags for the last time, and would take off my shoes forever; Rod had won, and 'Sky' was dead. A part of my soul and being was shattered.

The man I was with afterwards was very supportive of my teaching dancing, and it was him who gave me the idea to produce instructional dance videos. He set up my website, and from day one I have been giving free advice to anyone who asks.

Do you think it would have been easier if you were single?

I have often wondered about this. I think it would have been easier in the fact that you would have to rush home or take time off travelling to see someone.

At the same time, its comforting to know there is someone at home who loves you and trusts you to dance and be there for them when they need you. There are pro’s and con’s to both.

If I were single, I may have found my way into drugs and partying. I didn’t even drink pop or coffee at the time; let alone have a glass of wine or beer!

Does your boyfriend(s) get jealous from you being in a club with men whistling and hooting at you all night?

Eric handled the cheering and attention very well, and so did Rod (for a few months). Both were proud that I was their girlfriend, but the attention that I received and had to give in return, in the form of signing photos & t-shirts for fans, doing Polaroid’s etc… made them hate my dancing career.

Rod started going on the road with me or would meet me in whatever city I was working at.

At first I was flattered and very thankful. Working away from home does get very lonely, so I enjoyed his company, until he clearly showed how much he despised my dancing.

I remember Rod saying, “I hate it when you are getting ready for stage. There is a point where you are no longer Fawnia, but Sky.”

When men hit on you at work, what will they usually say or do?

If I am walking through a club, men may offer to buy me a drink, or ask when my show was on.

There was never a time that I felt unsafe. If I walked through the club, many offered to buy me drinks, or ask when my show was on.

Why do you think dancers make a good or not so good girlfriend?

A dancer for a girlfriend can be great if you are mature enough to live with so many other men enjoying the beauty of your woman. It is only then, that a relationship with a dancer has the potential to be healthy.

The other aspect is, is she trustworthy and does she trust you while she is working. Many people forget the fact that the men at home have equal opportunity to cheat.

Everything aside, a woman who dances for a living is no different than a women who models, or even works at an office or restaurant job. You may think that it takes a certain type of personality for someone to decide to be a stripper. This is not true. In fact, men and women from all cultures and lifestyles around the world are dancing as you read this, and for many diverse reasons.

Dancers are just as wonderful as girlfriends as the men who date them are as boyfriends.

If a guy does get lucky enough to date a dancer, do you think he is likely to find he is in for a much more open sexual lifestyle?

If you mean having threesomes, or watching his girl with another woman, there is a possibility.

However dancers often carry the need to enjoy non-sexual activities as well, since they are bombarded with sexual visuals, offers and acts during their work.

As a working dancer, what do you look for in a man for a serious relationship?

While I was dancing, I was attracted to men who were independent, confident, and goal oriented.

This is how I saw myself and I didn’t want someone in my life that needed babysitting. Unfortunately I didn’t find ‘him’ until after I quit dancing and I am not ever letting him go!

Do you think it is impossible for a couple to have a great relationship when one is a dancer?

Being in a relationship where one is dancing is very possible and it happens all the time. Both people need to have a strong desire for each other and must communicate non-stop. Trust and honesty is the key, and need to be kept, otherwise the relationship, like any other, can be broken.

If both people were dancers, would the relationship run more smoothly?

When both people are dancing they can understand what the other is going through, and knows what’s happening and not happening behind the scenes. That is of course if they are honest with each other. Once again, the issue here is trust, but I think these relationships can work well.

Is the strip club the worst place a guy should try to pick up a dancer?

Trying to pick up a dancer in a strip club is a catch22. Where else are men going to find women who they know are in fact dancers? The problem though when men hit on dancers in clubs, they are making themselves appear caught in the ‘exotic dance world’, and to dancers, the last person they want to be with actually spends his nights in strip clubs. Spending time with men is what dancers do for a living, so men shouldn’t be trying to pick up strippers at clubs.

If the strip club is not the best place to meet a dancer, where do you meet someone like you?

I would suggest getting to know people who have dancers as friends, or try finding out where they hang out or party. Getting to know a dancer outside of her work is when she is more likely to open up and want to talk to you. Since dancers need to be in great shape, many go to a gym and tanning salon every day. Situate yourself as a dancer would. Getting a job as a waiter, a DJ, or even becoming a male dancer would increase your chances of dating a dancer.

If a man wants to date a dancer what should he do?

Probably the easiest way for a man to date a dancer, is to have his girlfriend start dancing, and voila, he is dating a dancer! On to a more serious note, any man who is searching for a dancer to be his girlfriend may need a reality check. Who does he think a dancer is? The perfect woman, a play toy, a bank account, or a girl that will look like a prize on his arm?

What should he NOT do?

Men who are interested in dancers should play the aspect of her dancing career down.

Any dancer can sense when someone is more interested in her career than he is in her as a person.

Do guys you dance for at the clubs sometimes give you gifts?

I often received roses and teddy bears; however the only gift I enjoyed was a dollar bill from the 1920’s. This was in Alberta, Canada and the men tip very well there. I think this was the last of his money, and even though I resisted taking it, he absolutely insisted that I have it.

Why do you think guys would give you gifts?

To show appreciation and make more of a statement than just giving a few dollars tip.

They may also hope to get attention in return.

Do gifts make a difference on whether you would date someone you meet at the club?

Not at all. I was never interested in customers, however I did meet dancers who were.

What does it feel like to have all of these guys watching you dance nude?

At first it was very uncomfortable and awkward, but once the nervousness wore off, I learned to enjoy the feeling of power from dancing nude.

What goes through your head when you are out on stage? Do you ever imagine anything sexual to get you in the mood to dance so seductively?

When I am dancing on stage, my main focus was to have everyone’s attention. Seeing people have a conversation during my show made me feel as though they were bored so I concentrated on keeping everyone entertained.

Thinking sexual thoughts never crossed my mind since my shows were more on the theatrical side, rather than degrading or pornographic. However when you are working in a club where there is lap dancing and pornos playing on TV's, you can’t help but let your mind wander.

Do you ever get turned on when you dance?

Only when I worked in clubs where they offered private dances. For the most part, the venues I danced at hired me as their feature entertainer and sex was the last thing on my mind, when I’ve got dance moves, pole work, masks, and fire to think about.

What do you think turns on the guys you dance for the most?

Men who enjoyed my shows told me they loved how I created a story within my dance. Obviously Canadian dancers and customers share different tastes than those from the USA.

For my ‘Miss Nude B.C.” performance I had two dancers on either side with me and they were dressed as angels with large hoods, covering their heads. We all slowly approached the stage carrying a candle in our hands, and after the one minute intro, the speakers would blare the laugh from ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson. My fire pots automatically lit and as I tore off my angle cloak, I put on my horns and appeared as the devil. Behind me, on either side, stood my two angels who were now demons with hideous masks.

You are in great shape! What do you do to keep your body looking so good? (Training, diet, etc.)

From dancing I went from a soft 140 pounds, to a lean 108 pounds. I knew that my body type could easily pack on the pounds so I joined a gym. Since 1995 I have been doing at least 30 minutes of weight training and at least 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week.

In 1999 I competed in the ‘1999 Muscle & Fitness Mania’ and won the women’s lightweight division. From this experience and from training others, I have gained the knowledge on how to train affectivity and safely. People can see my workout in my video ‘Fitness for the Dancer’ Volume 5.

How do you decide which music and costumes you will use? Do you just look for something sexy or do you try to put together a theme that will excite the men you dance for?

For competitions or when I was featuring, I chose themes that I felt suited some aspect of my personality. I danced as ‘Cop to Robber’, ‘Angel to Devil’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Spider Man’, and ‘Wonder Woman’. I also had the obvious themes, like ‘Nurse’, ‘Bondage’, and ‘School Girl’ as well.

Having music that matched or the audience could identify with is extremely important.

When doing my ‘Angel to Devil’ I used the songs “Heaven’s on Fire” by Kiss, “Hell Raiser” by Ozzy. Having the right music can make your audience feel like there are at a concert.

Many times if I were in a small club and it was slow, I would dance to something I enjoyed hearing. For me it was dance music, but many audiences can handle only so much of it.

What kind of relationships do you have with the other women you dance with?

I treated everyone equal and was fortunate to make few (if any) enemies. Only one dancer comes to mind when I think of someone who I had a hard time working with, and there was an unexpected ending to our ‘friendship’.

We became roommates in 1999; long after she and I stopped dancing, and today are good friends. At the time I didn’t realize it was the industry and partying etc, that made her such a "hate filled" person.

Many men think that dancers are bisexual, and who can blame them. After all it is the biggest fantasy of most men to be with two women at once. Do you find that many dancers are bisexual or are at least more open, sexually speaking?

Most definitely, there are many dancers who are not only extremely bi-curious, but are bi-sexual or even lesbian. Working in bars all day and/or night, dancers see the worst of men and wonder how they could find one that wasn’t so insensitive. This brings the option of trying sexual relations to any degree with another woman.

What do you and the other dancers talk about backstage before and after you finish your set?

We talk about who may be tipping, whether the club is very busy, if one of the poles is slippery, or if someone has any costumes or music for sale. Looking back, I didn’t socialize enough to find out about parties or anything exciting, but I wish I did. But than again, that may have let me down a very rugged path.

What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you while you were dancing at a club? (Either positive or negative)

Positive: During the announcing of 2nd runner up “Miss Nude Canada’s Western Championships” they called my name, “Sky!”. I was very pleased to have placed this high (3rd) after having danced only six months and competing against 35 other beautiful dancers from across Canada.

Than someone approached the announcer, handing him a piece of paper. “Oh, I am reading the results in the wrong order. The winner is “Sky!”. This was without a doubt a major highlight in my career, one that I will always remember.

Negative: While working on the road, I danced at a club in the same town where my father lived. You guessed it; he was sitting right in front row for my show. I had to remain ‘Sky’ more than ever, and do my job while he told those around him “that’s my daughter!”

Many people have a certain image of an exotic dancer. What do you want people to know about you as a dancer and as a person?

People need to realize that anyone they know could be, or maybe was a dancer. Sure you say, ‘no way’, but what if you knew that your sister was dancing to pay for her schooling, or your mother danced for a couple years when you were very young. This is the reality of the business.

Anyone can dance and the industry will always be here.

As a dancer, I was there to entertain the audience. People confuse dancers with prostitutes all the time, but they are very wrong. While they may stumble across a girl who is posing as a dancer and offering more than just dances, there are real performers (stage and private), who are working as exotic dancers and earning their money in a classy way.

As a person, I work in the arts and at the gym and I am dedicated to my family and friends. I enjoy and pride myself in what I have accomplished and will continue to spread and teach the art of exotic dancing.

Do you have any other career aspirations?

I would like to become an accomplished producer and director of documentaries and movies.

What do you enjoy doing outside of dancing (hobbies, activities, etc.)

Writing, clubbing with friends, travelling, reading cookbooks and watching cooking shows, (soon I’ll be cooking!), and staying fit.

Chapter 4: Fawnia Mondey: Past, Present & Future

How did you begin entering contests?

When I started dancing I was in awe of the girls who had a long dramatic introduction

before they hit the stage. I wanted that; plus I needed a raise and winning contests would be my ticket to more money.

How do you feel on a human level?

I feel as though I have lived several lives. Being the vice president at my high school, to ‘America's Exotic Dance Champion’ and the creator of ‘The Art of Exotic Dancing’ video series, sometimes makes my head spin.

However, I do know one thing, and that is how fortunate I am to experience all that I have. My moto to make “We meet people by chance. What happens next is by choice”.

What are you currently doing?

My main focus has been on promoting my instructional dance videos and selling my documentary on breast augmentation called ‘The Decision’. This is a 60 min video made for TV. We have a great distributor so the ball is now rolling.

I am also a columnist for an online magazine called www.athleticwomenmagazine.com where I interview female fitness athletes and bodybuilders and models. As a former competitive bodybuilder and personal trainer, I know how much work goes into a winning physique and this is my way of giving back what the fitness industry has given me. This column is called “Fawnia’s Diary”.

I also have a column at ainews.com called “Fawnia’s Showroom Review”. Here I give the reader an inside look of various strip clubs around the world.

In June of 2000 and Sept, 2001, I worked in Prague with ‘North American Releasing’ as a leading actress. Last years film is called ‘Dakota Bound’ and it will be going straight to video in the fall of 2001. The film I shot last year is called ‘Age of Innocence’ and you can pick it up in the summer of 2002.

What are your career highlights? (awards, sports accomplishments, contests, big photo shoots etc)

Producer

I have independently produced 4 instructional dance videos and one weight training video. I have co-produced a documentary on breast augmentation.

What compelled you to create the videos?

I had been teaching exotic dancing from the day I learned my first pole move and moved to instructing full time when I left the stage on March 2, 1996. My boyfriend, who I had met after I stopped dancing, thought I could reach more people with a set of instructional videos. He is great with computers, so he set up my web site and I was on my way.

What can women learn from your videos?

Each of the three videos are very different from each other.

The first video, ‘Pole Work’ vol-1, is purely instructional. I show step-by-step how to do over 30 pole moves. Many women have actually decided to install a pole into their homes. With a pole handy, you are always just seconds away from a great (and interesting) workout!

‘Dance Moves & Floor Work’ vol-2, is the video for everyone. Women who want to surprise their men, dancers who are just starting out, or the veteran who may preparing for a contest and is looking to pick up some new moves to spice up her show, can all benefit from using this tape. I have also included safe stretching exercises that will help the viewer improve their flexibility. Even men have picked up some dancing techniques to gain confidence with their style of dance.

‘Fawnia Live on Stage’ vol-3, was created for those who wanted to see me on stage. People can still learn from it but if you are looking for entertainment, than this is it. Sit back and watch my winning the Venus swimwear pageant, my first bodybuilding contest, and of course live shows. The bloopers at the end are always a favorite.

‘Lap Dancing & Entertaining Your Man!’ vol-4, is for exotic dancers who are wanting to learn exactly how to give a great lap dance. I also talk about how to approach customers in terms of getting them to say YES to a dance, and demonstrate clothing removal for under pieces.

This is equally for all women who have want to spice up their relationships at home or surprise their men with a dance for any special occasion.

“Fitness for the Dancer” vol-5, is a total body-weight training program. I demonstrate each exercise and give information on proper form and workout tips that have been my motivation to staying in shape. This video will help the viewer:

* Sculpt their body * Boost their metabolism * Burn calories

* Increase their flexibility * Increase their self-esteem

“Slim down and tone up for stage making pole work a breeze and your floor show ... an act of flexibility!” Also included is my Award-Winning Bodybuilding Posing Routine.

I understand you have plans for a video on ‘Male Exotic Dancing’ and ‘Nutrition’.

The word spreads fast! I am working with a former Playgirl Centerfold model and exotic dance pro who’s been dancing for close to 15 years. “Male Exotic Dancing” vol-6 will be for all male dancers, and who just want to learn for fun. I’m sure all women would welcome a little private show from their men! To be released early 2002

“Nutrition for the Dancer” will be the 7th volume, and I will be discussing what foods we should be eating for toning our bodies, losing weight, endurance, gaining muscle, and strength. I will also talk about portion sizes, number of meals each day, and how often we should be eating. All the bases of nutrition will be covered in this video. Will be released in 2002.

Chapter 5: Age to Start

Miss Fawnia,

I am trying to get up the courage to try dancing. I would like to ask you a couple of very personal questions. Please do not answer if it is too personal for you.

Q: I would like to know how old you are, and how old you think is too old to dance exotically? (I am an old lady, 37).

A: I am 26 years old, and first started dancing at 19. Being 37 and wanting to dance is fine. In fact, two years ago, there was lady by the name of Rose who came to me from New York for classes. At first I thought she had made a typo in her letters saying she was 73, thinking she must have meant to say 37. This person was 73 years old, and had been dancing for two years. Today, at 75, Rose is still dancing and will appear in an upcoming issue of Celebrity Sleuth magazine.

Q I would like to know what the "life" is really like (money, men, etc.). What did you find to be the best benefits of dancing?

A: For me the benefits were being able to get paid doing what I loved, which was dancing. I also enjoyed the perks of traveling, and I experienced what life was like as a sex goddess. Having lost weight as a dancer, today I feel more confident about my body.

Some girls make more money than others, so it can be hard for some. However with a positive personality, you can do just about anything in life, including making tons of cash as a dancer.

For the most part, men treat you with respect and will not do anything to harm or scare you. Though you will meet the odd guy who will cause you to rethink why you are living this lifestyle, having to work nude for money.

Q: I would like to know if/how one can sculpt a butt. I do not have a shapely or round butt and am self conscious about this. Do you think this would prevent me from being a dancer?

A: As you now know, being a dancer is an open opportunity to everyone who desires it. If you would like to reshape your body, I suggest reading fitness & bodybuilding magazines such as "Oxygen", "Muscle & Fitness" and "Muscle Media". Within these magazines, you will learn how to eat and train right to sculpt the best butt possible!

Q: Is it possible to be an exotic dancer without being involved in or exposed to the seedy underworld of illicit sex? I would like to dance, but I don't like anything vulgar like all the porno stuff. That's disgusting and a big turn off.

A: I couldn't agree with you more. What I suggest is visiting a few clubs before you start, and get to know the clientele, types of girls, and if you can, the management. There is a website called stripperpower.com where you can read club reviews.

If you find yourself at a club that you grow to dislike, than leave. You are in complete control of everything you do as a dancer. After all, you are self-employed.

Q: Do you think one can learn the basics of dancing just by watching videotapes?

A: I believe that the best training is from dancing itself. Combine this with my instructional tapes, and you will be far ahead of the game, and will feel more prepared. My tapes will provide you with moves that you can do right away, without a lot of thought. Since I demonstrate and describe everything step by step, learning is simple.

I suggest that you sign up for my 'Exotic Dancer Question & Answer Pages' from exoticdancelessons.com/q_a.html There are over 120 questions and in depth answers here for you, including advice on nutrition, weight training, and supplements.

Thank you for your time and I am really excited about hearing back from you!

Hi Fawnia,

Let me start out by saying you are the most beautifulest and most sexiest entertainer I have ever seen. You have so much talent. My question is, I have never been in a strip club in my life, but my boyfriend is a frequent attender. At home some times I put on a striptease show for him, he gets really turned on. He says I could easily be a stripper, and make lots of money, but I don't know, I turned 27 in February, is this to old to start stripping. Thank you for your time,

Brittany in NC.

Hi Brittany,

Yes, men love women dancing for them, especially their girlfriend or wife. I know you may feel a little too old to start, but if you asked every dancer in the club their age, I am sure you would be pleasantly surprised. Dancers range from ages 18 – 30 depending on which state or province you are in. Women from all ages are turning to dancing to supplement their income. I have a good friend named 'Rose' who started dancing at 69 or 70 years of age. These fast 3-4 years, she has been having a real blast and people love her! I say, do what you want; with enough passion, you can and will do anything! Have a great show Brittany.

Dear Fawnia

I am 43, divorced, no children (my body is in pretty good shape) andI really want to start dancing. Its something that I've always wantedto do. Am I too old?

Celina, London,EN

Hi Celina,

Three years ago I would have said that your years are a little higher than the average dancer, but today I have a very different answer for you! Just two months ago, I had the pleasure of teaching 'The Oldest Stripper in the World Outside of the Bedroom .'From New York, her name is Rose ('The Rose') and she was 73 years young! What an amazing women, and can she ever move. Her career started only three years ago, and has been a feature performer from the moment she stepped on stage. Through her example, I firmly believe that you are never too old to dance, especially when it something you have always wanted to do. Life is meant to be lived, so I say go for it!!

Find a club/agent that believes in you as much as you do; you'll be unstoppable. In fact I think you may create a new market. Men may find you very refreshing, wishing that their women at home possessed the kind of zest for life that you do.

Fawnia

Starting at 51

Fawnia,

My name is Jillian. I am a true fan of exotic dancing. I am 51 years old, but I have kept my body in good condition. I wonder if it is too late for me to learn how to climb down the pole and dance. My friends tell me to go for it. I would like to put on a show for them one day. Could you tell me what to buy, or how to get started? Please if you could send me some information on how to get started. If you need something else from me let me know.

Hi Jillian,

Thank you for your email. it is never too late to learn, in fact I have taught a lady who is 75 now. (73 at the time she flew to Vancouver from New York).

What I would do is talk to a few club owners and let them know what you would like to do. Remember that its not everyday they have a lady over 35 asking for a job, so you may be turned down.

I am confident that we can find you a great club who will welcome you with open arms, and at the very least, can put you in touch with Rose Edwards (the 75 year old dancer, who began at 69). First lets start with phoning / visiting clubs in your area, and see what they say.

Ask if they have amateur nights, and if they would be open to having an older lady dance. The crowd sometimes really loves seeing a more mature women on stage!

Before you begin, you may want to educate yourself with my videos. ExoticDanceLessons.com There are four dance video's, and for you I would recommend, for dancing on stage: "Pole Work", volume1 and "Dance Moves & Floor Work", volume 2.

With the USA market offering and promoting private lap dances, you may want to also order

"Lap Dancing & Entertaining Your Man!", volume 4.

As you can tell by the name of Volume 4, any women would find a use for this video!

Enjoy your time as a dancer Jillian!

Fawnia

15 years old, Breasts, Income

Hi Fawnia,

My name is Ashley, I'm a fifteen year old girl from Holland and I want to be an exotic dancer too. But I'm worried because my breast is very small and I don’t know if they are already grown out. I don’t want plastic surgery because I don’t have the money for it. How much do you get paid for dancing one evening, if I may ask? Do I make a chance in Holland because its a very little country. I hope you answer my questions. Thank you! You’re doing a great job!

Kisses from Ashley

Hi Ashley,

Thank you for your email and questions. At only 15 years of age, why would you want to be an exotic dancer? Please tell me why this is something you would like to do. I will answer your questions, but you should be focussing the next few years on your education. Please wait until you are at least 19 before you start even thinking about being a dancer, and being consumed about your breast size.

Answers:

The size of your breasts have next to nothing when it comes to being a great exotic dancer, however larger breasts can help you earn more money. Personally, I dance with a small 34B size, and quickly danced my way on to the winning podiums of six top competitions in my one year as a dancer.

You should never change anything about your body for the industry.

It's at times when you are not dancing, and you find yourself still not satisfied with your body, that you may consider plastic surgery. At 15, you still have at least five years of developing to do, so you have nothing to worry about with the size of your breasts.

To answer your question about dancer's income.

Exotic dancers earn between $200- and $3000.- Canadian a day depending on where they are working. In cities like Las Vegas, Nevada, USA dancers make much larger amount of money.

In Europe the amounts will also vary. Dancers often travel from one state / country to the next.

It is a very hard business, and many find that its not exactly as glamorous it seems from the 'real world'. See you in school Ashley!

Fawnia

Hi Fawnia,

Thanks for answering my questions, but I still want to be an exotic dancer. But I'm going to finish my school first. Many thanks!

Kisses from Ashley.

Curious at 15

Hi,

My name is Sarah and I'm 15yrs old.

I was wondering if exotic dancing is fun, I really want to be one but my mum says it's disgusting and slutty so does all my family actually and they said I would have to fuck people as well, would I?

Can’t I just dance.. is it good money...?

Do u have to be really pretty because all the dancers I have seen are but I'm not.... any way if you could write to me I would really appreciate it... thank you

From

xxxxSARAHxxxx

thank you

bye....

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your email regarding exotic dancing.

It's great that you have an idea of what you want to do when you're older, however, I need to tell you that exotic dancing isn't the most safe or enjoyable 'profession'.

Before I answer your questions, I need to say that you are still several years from being the legal age to dance, so please don't begin to prepare for a job as a dancer.

I was wondering if exotic dancing is fun.

Exotic dancing can be fun, if you are emotionally stable and are great working in very unnatural situations. Being a dancer means that you loose a part of your innocence, and many dancers go as far as hating themselves because they start to view themselves as worthless. Some women who dance for a long time, are not able to see themselves doing anything else. Their self esteem is very low, and many begin abusing drugs. Others go even further and commit suicide.

I am not trying to scare of shock you, I'm simply giving you an honest look at if dancing is 'fun'.

I really want to be one but my mum says its disgusting and slutty so does all my family actually and they said I would have to fuck people as well, would I?

Whether exotic dancing is disgusting and slutty is an opinion, and your mother has ever right to feel that way. Not all dancers are pretty, and not all dancers can dance.

Same goes with those who 'fuck people'. It is the minority of dancers who do more than dance.

These few are 'dancers' who have made the decision to 'work for extra money', meaning they will sleep with / fuck people, and they are at risk for getting many different diseases, and are putting their life at risk. Acting as an 'escort' / 'hooker' is not a 100% safe career choice.

Anyone who is seriously considering being a exotic dancer needs to understand:

- WHY they want to dance,

- What are they going to do with their MONEY.

- HOW LONG they want to dance.

Since you have an interest in dance, until you are living on your own or at least 21 years of age I suggest that you consider taking dance lessons. You may enjoy learning:jazz, ballet, or modern.

I am pleased to hear that you and your mother are able to talk openly about dancing, and hope you can always see her as a friend to talk to.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Bye Sarah.

Manager asked my Wife to Dance

Hi Fawnia,

Thank you for the accommodation; I'll go ahead and order via mail. I also have a couple of other questions if its OK:

1. This is going to be a surprise for my wife so I'm going to have it delivered to my work address. Since the mail is received by another person and can be seen by others before it is delivered to me I want to make sure that the contents of the package will not be obvious. Is the packaging content neutral?

2. I was wondering what your experience has been with more middle age women who are interested in stripping for the first time in public. My wife is 39 and very attractive with a great body. She has always been a wonderful lover but the stripping thing only came up recently. She is in ad sales and was pitching a local strip club. The manager was impressed with her and suggested she try stripping at one of their weekly amateur nights. She wants to do it and I don't mind her trying it out, but she is nervous about being shown up by younger, larger breasted women who have not had children and have no stretch marks. If she does this I want it to be a positive experience for her. Do you have any thoughts and/or suggestions.

Thanks again,

Dean

Hi Dean,

1. Your order will arrive in a brown bubble envelope and will have the description as VIDEO on the custom declaration sticker. I am looking forward to shipping your order.

2. That is a real compliment for your wife to have been asked by the club owner himself. I have found that men do often enjoy watching a beautiful women no matter what their age.

If your wife is as pretty as she sounds, and would like to dance (her choice), than I say 'go for it!' You only live once. Plus she was invited by one of the people who matter most, the manager.

At amateur nights, the women aren't expected to be perfect, or able to dance. She should just enjoy the experience.

Enjoy her show!

Fawnia

How Old is too Old

Fawnia, How old is to old to dance ? If you are in your 40s and still look good will the man still like to see you dance?

Hi,

Thank you for your question. Personally I feel that there is a market for everyone. Not all clubs will hire a dancer who is a little older (age 19 - 28 is average in Canada and 21 - 28 in the USA), however there is a huge interest in women who are sexy, seductive, and in control, no matter what their age.

If you are serious about dancing, you may want to consider my instructional video's to help you prepare for the stage. Also, you should visit the clubs in your area. There may be times when you'll see women of different ages working. Asking the staff is best if you are interested.

Some places require you to book through an agent, while others simply have the dancer pay a 'house fee' to work the club that day / night.

NOTE: I have taught a 73 year old dancer who started at 69. She's from New York, and is still dancing, working as a real-estate agent part time.

I'm wishing you the best!
