Health
We all want to be healthy. We will take a look at health not only in the physical level, but in the spiritual level, as well. Spirit is the source of health. We will discover:
1. Humankind is a spirit (soul) with a body.
2. This spirit is God.
3. This spirit is perfection.
4. This spirit knows not of disease, pain, suffering or death.
5. This spirit will heal any negative concept in the mind or body that humankind can concoct.
Monthly Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Faith Healing #1
Hocus pocus or reality? For those of us who are suffering from ill health or a disease, we feel the pain and all we want is relief. Our loved ones around us know only one thing - get us to a doctor quick. This is good, but a doctor can only cure the symptom not the cause. Invariably, the symptoms come back. Why?
Each person who suffers from ill health has usually fallen victim to a specific ailment. This specific ailment is the result of some obstruction in the Conscious Mind or some false or erroneous idea.
When we heal the body by mental and spiritual treatment, we do not treat the body (leave this to the medical doctor); we treat the Conscious Mind. This is paramount to understand. One cannot get rid of a result without first getting rid of the cause. The cause is always in the Conscious Mind. Disease and bodily ailments are the result of the Conscious Mind’s activities.
It would take a thousand lifetimes to reveal the specific mental disturbances that cause each disease because the causes are buried deep in our Subconscious Mind. However, we need not bother. All things spring from a perfect source. We need only contact this source and allow it to manifest its perfection through our bodies.
Jesus said, “Be thou perfect, even as thy heavenly father is perfect.” Why after two thousand years have we not grasped this statement and run with it? It is because we have been led to believe that we are separate from God.
There is nothing in God’s creation that desires our bodies be warped away from the purposeful functioning for which it was intended. It is our limited perception of ourselves that brings disease upon us. Only when we have conceived ourselves to be spiritually perfect will our bodies be free from all disease.
Today’s Exercise: Think healthy. Every morning the first words out of your mouth should be, “I am happy, I feel good!”
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: When we heal the body by mental and spiritual treatment, we do not treat the body, we treat the Conscious Mind. Disease and bodily ailments are the results of the Conscious Mind’s activities.
Faith Healing #2
The real you is not your body. Your body is but a minute extension in time and space. The real you is mental and spiritual, free of the shackles of space and time, and limitless in power with the capacity to think and create. When you recognize and believe your true spiritual self, disease cannot exist in your body, for there is no limitation in the Universal Superconscious Mind of God. All disease must be treated as one disease, which is simply negative thinking errors projected into the Subconscious Mind.
Perfect love eliminates all fear. Fear is the cause of all disease. Rarely have humans achieved perfect love or perfect faith. Our understanding of who we are has been muddled by those who preach separation of God from us. We are all neophytes on this road to expanding consciousness and by the very nature of this adventure, we are unable to go beyond our limited understanding. The very vehicle, which should be the beacon to lead the way (religion) is actually the biggest obstacle.
We stand at the crossroads, peering into the infinite reaches of space and time, totally inept, and unskilled in the use of our Subconscious Minds. The veil is torn and small specks of light pour through with great revelation that Subconscious Mind and spirit are immortal and infinite and are always the first cause of our existence. What does it matter if it takes another two thousand years to elapse before man completes his journey to a oneness with God? We are all part of one mind and one spirit and we exist in a place where space and time are an illusion.
The journey starts now. You must take up the challenge. No longer can you sit back and say, “I didn’t know,” or “I’m not worthy to take the lead.” We can call upon God with the understanding that now God is in us and God will respond by creating the image of our understanding for us. If you can find it in yourself to accept spiritual perfection then the Universal Superconscious Mind of God will manifest this perfection in your body.
Today’s Exercise: Pick up the baton—now is our turn to spread the truth.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Fear is the cause of all disease. The very vehicle which should be the beacon to learn the way (religion) is actually the biggest obstacle.
Faith Healing #3
Truth or Fiction? Spiritual healing has been going on since Biblical times. The Bible says, “What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Here the Bible is saying that you need to believe and receive before you actually have them. If you believe and accept the fact that our desire has already been accomplished, fulfilled, and that it is already completed, the realization will follow sometime in the future.
What is Disease? Disease is dis-ease, meaning our body is not at ease. Our body is not in harmony with our spirit. Our spirit is perfect. Our spirit knows no dis-ease. God knows no disease or dis-ease. Our Subconscious Mind, which controls our every moment, knows no dis-ease. So, where again does disease come into our being? It comes from negative thinking, disharmony, fear, and guilt. It may come from the vast majority of human beings collectively causing disharmony in the world. Yes, the medical community has discovered many fine drugs to combat disease, and these drugs work on the symptoms not the cause. For a permanent cure, we need to get to the cause.
If a person’s faith and beliefs are strong enough, the Subconscious Mind has a clear and precise command to remove the cause, overcome the disharmony, and relieve the stress or guilt. The Subconscious Mind heals the body. Doctors will tell you that once a patient gives up on life, no amount of drugs can save them. At the same time, terminally ill patients make remarkable recoveries in a very short time period.
We cannot argue the fact that our Subconscious Mind controls our bodies. What is so unbelievable about healing ourselves, it is just our limited ego and a lack of faith that prevents it. If something is troubling you and you have the desire, then pray, believe your prayers will be answered and let go and let God. I am not talking about hope; I’m talking about faith.
Today’s Exercise: Don’t take this day’s lesson as hocus-pocus. Have faith.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Our spirit knows no disease and God knows no disease. Our Subconscious Mind, which controls our every moment, knows no disease.
We Cannot Exceed Our Understanding
The naysayers say that nobody seems to be able to set a broken bone mentally so this idea of mental healing is in error. Nothing can be further from the truth. Medical history is filled with faith healing. We hear about the miraculous cures of cancer, AIDS and other fatal diseases. Setting a broken bone cannot be harder than curing cancer or AIDS. After all, how did prehistoric humans who must have had many broken bones survive without a doctor at their beck-n-call?
It is not impossible mentally to set a broken bone! This fact simply means that we have not yet arrived at a sufficient spiritual understanding to do so. Today we need a doctor, yet these things, and all other so-called incurable diseases, are possible with mental healing. The day will arrive when evolution will have brought human consciousness and understanding to the point where disease will disappear as easily as the illusion of Hell will disappear.
Evolution is the process of our individual consciousness expanding in its search of God. The first result of individualized consciousness is the structure to maintain life, which in nature is “survival of the fittest.” The second result is consciousness of self, the identifying of one self with another; and the acts of love and cooperation, as opposed to competition and preying on the weaker, as in the animal world. The third result is the expansion of the consciousness of self to merge with the consciousness of the Universal Superconscious Mind of God. This is the step that humankind is preparing to take now. This is the step Jesus took two thousand years ago. Now it is our turn.
Today’s Exercise: Start with something simple such as a headache, or a joint ache. Say your affirmation five times.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Evolution is the process of our individual consciousness expanding in its search of God.
The Myth: An Incurable Disease
The law of Cause and Effect is the law of ideas becoming things. Since this law is the movement of God, it has absolutely no limitations and therefore there is no such thing as an incurable disease.
In order for law to be a law it must work all the time. The law that governs the intelligence in which all things have been created can just as easily banish the idea of disease as it can make a tree grow.
Whatever disease science has not been unable to find a cure for is not incurable. Something causes it; that something may be discovered tomorrow. Both medical science and psychiatry are quickly learning that the root of all things exists in our Conscious Mind, is generated by an idea and this idea can be changed. Since there is no limit to the inexhaustible power of the Universal Superconscious Mind of God, it is impossible to have such a thing as an incurable disease.
Our world turns out to be exactly what we think about all day long. As we progress in our enlightenment and reach higher levels of consciousness, we cast off the bonds of limitations, becoming aware that all things are possible.
The moment we say something is impossible, or can’t be done, we make it impossible for our Subconscious Mind to manifest it.
No one has the right to say a thing is impossible, unless they are foolish enough to place limitations on God. God is within us, and willing to bring us perfect health, if we only call upon it with faith. The key word here is faith. Faith can move mountains and faith will make you whole.
Today’s Exercise: Believe with all your heart and soul and watch the miracles unfold and manifest in your life.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Faith can move mountains and faith will make you whole.
Trust in the Law
Faith healing entails no personal responsibility other than for the idea and its affirmation. Everything depends upon the principle of creation that permeates the universe; this principle never fails. When you declare your spiritual perfection you activate this universal law of trust into motion, which accepts your idea and the power of your conviction and creates it so in the physical world. This law we are dealing with is infallible, it is reality, and nothing else can match it.
All disease is caused by a negative mental condition. Before it can be healed, the negative condition must be surrendered. We must surrender to God and let go, give up physical struggles, and trust in the law so that the Universal Superconscious Mind of God can restore wholeness. This is the real confession of sins that religion talks about. We must be willing to give up our jealousies, doubt, prejudices, hates, animosities, etc. We must surrender our fears and frustrations and guilt, lay aside our vanities and our little egos, and place all our hurts on the shoulders of the Universal Superconscious Mind. Then we shall be free, free of pain, illness, disease, and free to partake of the beauty, perfection, and prosperity of the universe. God is within us always, and ready to answer our every need. God will respond to us exactly as we conceive and believe.
The power of physical perfection is within us. We need only surrender to it, accept it, trust ourselves completely to it, and then perfect health is ours.
Today’s Exercise: Visit a sick person and think healthy for the both of you.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: God is with us always, and ready to answer our every need. God will respond to us exactly as we conceive and believe.
Pain
The spiritual unrest in our world is evident by increasing binges of over-eating, over-drinking, over-working, over-playing, and lack of rest. We indulge in these binges to escape from the doubts, fears, and frustrations that lay at the base of our Conscious Mind. We are insecure and neurotic and we don’t know why.
Abuses of the body are always the result of confusions in the mind. We became confused when we were de-geniuses early in childhood. When we are at our most influential time of life, we are told there is a Santa Claus who will bring us toys if we are good. Just about the time we get that down pat, we find out there is no Santa Claus so our reason to be good is gone. We seek constantly for the pleasures of our senses and in turn dull the mystical creativeness of our true being.
When our bodies grow old and tired, the smallest of our under-developed awareness plagues us with endless doubts and uncertainties. Truly we can never be at peace either spiritually or physically until we have recognized that the roots of our being rest in eternity. Until we have learned the greatest lesson, which is that pain is merely an indicator that we have wandered from the truth.
For the most part we live in “never-land” in our Conscious Mind. Once we have come far enough to realize that all pain (physical, mental and emotional), proceeds from errors in the thinking and understanding of who we really are, we will then be on our way to fill our lives with vigor, abundance, and joy.
We have made a giant step toward our awareness of the unity of our consciousness with the mind of God.
Confusion has no place in your Conscious Mind because you see the goal of all life is to become one with God. Take it upon yourself as your own purpose.
Today’s Exercise: If you have a chance, do a fire walk, where you walk on hot coals in your bare feet.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Pain is merely an indicator that we have wandered from the truth.
The E-word
Tell someone they need to exercise and you will get everything from “I exercise, I make at least three trips from the couch to the refrigerator every night” to “This is my third marathon this month.” Here’s a fact: athletes on average die five to ten years sooner than non-athletes.
It becomes increasingly obvious that exercise alone produces neither good health nor longevity. The proof is all around us. People with a purpose in life live to ripe old ages. Those of us with a purpose do not count birthdays, instead we count goals attained. I’m 70 years old and I have the next 30 years all ready planned out.
Interest, desire, and aspiration are mental conditions that are always found in those who are healthy and vigorous. The skeptics say that because a person is healthy, they have interest, desire, and aspirations, but we know better don’t we? One of the single most causes of death is retirement. My personal retirement lasted all of two days. Take away a person’s need for accomplishment and you take away their desire to live.
Physical energy is the result of energetic thoughts. Physical weakness is the result of confusion. If you accept the perfection and power of the Universal Superconscious Mind, you will find the same perfection and power mirrored in your body.
Health always comes from within and never from outside ourselves. Exercise only if it’s fun, but if it’s a chore and distasteful it would be more productive if you plant a rose garden. By doing something of value like painting a picture, writing a book, or watering the lawn, you will maintain a healthy mind which will maintain a healthy body.
Unless you are an athlete, physical strength and endurance is less important than a positive, healthy mental outlook on life
Today’s Exercise: Go for a walk in the park, in your garden, at the ocean, in the mountains or in nature and say, “Hello” to everyone you meet, and feel the pleasure of being alive.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Health always comes from within and never from outside ourselves.
Disease - Part One
The word “disease” means dis–ease or lack of ease. In other words, it means to stress and worry. Physical health proceeds from mental peace; disease proceeds from mental confusion. Disease is a product of a confused and an uneducated self–consciousness. We make ourselves sick and then blame it on some germ.
Health and well-being are the natural states of every form of life. All life is God seeking to know itself and all things are rooted in Universal Superconscious Mind, which is perfect. Every living thing, including us, is a thought held in the Universal Superconscious Mind of God, which seeks ever to know more about itself.
There is only one Universal Intelligence in all creation and every thing is made from it, God. God did not create disease; this was human’s doing. Therefore, it is human beings, the most intelligent of all forms of life, who constantly fall victim to disease and illness while the lower forms of life exist in physical perfection unburdened by mental turmoil. The lower we go on the scale of evolution, rarer becomes the evidence of disease, until finally we are forced to conclude that disease is a product of our evolving consciousness. Have you ever seen a sick rock?
Our evolving consciousness carries with it an increasing number of conflicts, which are inadvertently projected into our Subconscious Mind. There, all our negative thoughts are turned into reality and then return to us physically in the form of disease and illness. We have come so far on the scale of self-consciousness but have not yet evolved the greater consciousness of the immortal self. In a few words, you can think yourself healthy or you can think yourself sick, it’s your choice.
Today’s Exercise: Choose health.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: Health and well being are the natural states of every form of life.
Disease - Part Two
A truth cannot be partly right. As you will discover, all things have their origin in the spiritual world, not the physical world. The bacterial concept of disease is satisfactory for cause and effect that exist on the physical plane. Why do such bacteria enter one body and not another? Why are they harmless to some bodies and yet deadly in others? Why is AIDS so prevalent in gay people? Could it be their lack of self-esteem? Maybe it is caused by their feelings of guilt, being unloved or unaccepted.
Indeed, why do these diseases exist at all? Why do they spread worldwide? A hundred years ago the world did not know of AIDS. We heard of small pox, yet through research and a general belief, small pox for the most part has become non-existent.
Our intelligence would scarcely be intelligent at all, if its normal procedure were to attack itself. It must be conceded that it is creating disease in response to something. That something is a conception formed by our Conscious Mind and then, projected into our Subconscious Mind, which has no alternative, but to manifest it into our physical world.
We humans are highly sophisticated and educated, and are God’s highest form on the evolution scale. We humans are created in God’s image. We humans created illness, disease and disharmony. Why? It is because we have separated ourselves from God.
You, and I, and every living thing are a part of God and God knows nothing of disease, disharmony, illness, or death. It is our fear of death that triggers all the other fears, which then triggers all the diseases that manifest in our physical world.
We have just begun to understand who we are. Read on.
Today’s Exercise: Every morning say this as soon as you awake, “Today I choose to feel good!”
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: You, I, and every living thing are part of God and God knows nothing of disease, disharmony, illness or death.
Disease - Part Three
My wife came into the room one day complaining about how sick she felt. I read the previous pages to her, only to have her get mad at me. Her Conscious Mind (ego) told her it’s not her fault and her body told her she was sick. After forty-five years of marriage, the first forty-four years I would have agreed with her. Now she thinks that I’ve lost my marbles. However, she is beginning to understand that her Conscious Mind tells her she is sick, and her Subconscious Mind reinforces her belief.
We see ourselves as insignificant dots in a gigantic universe where we have not ordered our existence and cannot prevent our deaths. Our highly developed egos cut us off from the roots of our being. All we know is fear; futility; hate, and bitterness, all of which set up a conflict between our feelings, emotions, and our minds. We have not yet accepted that we are a part of the universal intelligence, which knows not of disease and disharmony. So, our ego, our lack of understanding of who we are, and our spiritual belief systems brainwash us into believing we are separate from the Universal Superconscious Mind. This ego returns to us high blood pressure; headaches; ulcers; hardening of the arteries; cancer; diabetes; sickness, and fever, etc. Some deal, huh?
Psychology and psychiatry have discovered this chain of cause and effect so clearly that they now freely admit that Eighty percent of all disease is of mental origin and one of these days, they will admit that one hundred percent of all disease, disorder, and illness is the result of negative thinking and lack of love.
Today’s Exercise: Think and grow well.
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: You feel sick. You tell your Conscious Mind you are sick and your Subconscious Mind reinforces your belief.
The Healing Power
It is very rare that a person consciously desires to be sick. Some very unhappy people have completely cut themselves off from life to the point that nothing appeals to them except for this form of slow suicide.
Victor Frankl once told of his experiences in the death camps of Germany. People who had nothing to live for, simply gave up and died. Others, who were expecting to get liberated on a certain day and that day came and they were not liberated, simply died that day. The Germans put down on their death report that they died of tuberculosis or something else. In reality they died of no longer wishing to live.
The vast majority of people fall prey to disease through negative thinking, habits, and through coping mechanisms in answer to buried pain remembrances. A person who is chronically ill has a subconscious desire to be sick, though to confront them would inspire the most vehement denial. Look at those who suffer from anorexia. They look in the mirror and see a bloated, overweight person when in reality they are skin and bones.
All disease manifests in a person because they hold conscious feelings of hate; resentment; envy; bitterness; self-pity; or any number of negative feelings that corrupt the natural expression of the universe – Love.
If you do not love, you hate or project one of hate’s allies. Love is God’s Universal Superconscious Mind and it flows throughout each person who lives, whether they use it or not. If they use it negatively as in hate, it is a corrupting power that weakens and decays the body. Instead of being the power for life, it becomes the power for death.
Love is the power that heals. It is not the love of one person for another, but the love of humankind for God.
Today’s Exercise: Love or suffer! Love or die!
Today’s Affirmation: I am in perfect health. I eat right and exercise daily.
Points to Ponder: The vast majority of people fall prey to disease through negative thinking, habits, and through coping mechanisms in answer to buried pain remembrances.
Habits
We all have habits; some good, some bad. How do you break a bad habit? Smoking and biting your nails are examples of bad habits. First, you must want to stop. If you tell your Conscious Mind, I do not need to smoke cigarettes to feel good, the Conscious Mind relays the command to your Subconscious Mind, which takes immediate action, and you stop smoking. You may say I am enjoying a smoke free life.
The command must be direct. It cannot be wishy-washy. You can’t say I would like to stop smoking or, I would like to cut back, and think, well I really don’t want to quit, but it would be nice if I did. Even though our Conscious Mind desires success, if our subconscious habits and experiences believe it to be impossible, then our emotional thought is all aimed at failure and failure will result. You cannot rid yourself of negative thoughts or habits. You must install in their staid, a group of positive thoughts and habits. Since positively will override negativity, all that is necessary for you to install in the Subconscious Mind is a group of positive thoughts.
The Bible says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” The existence of positive thoughts will dissipate all negative habits and allow the individual to expand to the full blossom of his or her power.
If you are constantly sick, it is a long way toward recovery to search the Subconscious Mind for the prompter that is causing your sickness. Rather, it is best to install a prompter that says it is natural to be well. Health and vigor are the rights of humankind. You exist in a spiritual medium that is perfect. Your body as a manifestation of this perfect medium is perfect also. Once this positive prompter is thoroughly installed in the Subconscious Mind, the negative “sick prompter” will wither and disappear.
