Intro:

Winnie really doesn’t want to baby-sit this summer, but there is little else available for a twenty year old. When Winnie arrives at the huge Collins mansion, she is surprised that a man of only twenty-five owns such a lavish estate. Mr. Collins gives Winnie a Mercedes to drive, and lots of free time to do whatever she chooses. Winnie gives little thought to what Mr. Collins does for a living, until he discovers her swimming naked in his pool.

Book Content:

Mr. Collins opened the door to a young blonde haired woman who couldn’t have been more than seventeen. “May I help you?” he asked. “I’m here about the ad posted at my school,” she said. “Well, Miss, I was looking for a college student,” he answered. “Yes, sir, that’s why I’m here. I’m a sophomore at Wake Forest.” Hmm, he thought. Looks like she comes from money. “Wake Forest, hmm. Well, come in, dear,” he said.

Mr. Collins led the young girl into his study. “Have a seat, Miss, Miss…” “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m Winifred Duncan, but call me Winnie, please.” “I’ll do that. Call me Brad.” Brad looked at the papers that Winnie had brought with her. “You do realize that you will be caring for my young son. He is five and quite a handful.” “Yes, sir,” Winnie said shyly. “Do you have prior childcare experience?” “Yes, sir. I have been babysitting since I was fifteen.” Brad looked at the young girl. She looks so young, he thought. “Well, you will need to be here tomorrow morning at six. I’m a very busy man, and my days are long. That means, my dear, that your days will be long, too.” Winnie nodded. Mr. Collins had many questions about this young girl, but didn’t have the time to ask them. She looked good on paper. Maybe that was enough. Brad stood up and offered his hand. Winnie was on her feet instantly. “Well, that is all. Six in the morning.” As Winnie walked to the door, the only thing that Brad could see wrong with her was that her skirt was too short, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The following morning at six sharp, Winnie knocked on the door of the Collins estate. “Well, I really didn’t expect you to be on time, I must admit,” Brad said to the quiet girl. She was wearing pants today and a lightweight shirt. Well, she looks like she is ready to work, anyway. “Andrew is asleep. You must wake him at seven. This is his schedule for today. He has many activities and you will need to take him and pick him up. Here are the keys to the Mercedes. It’s in the garage. I will be back later this morning. I come and go quite a bit during the day.” Winnie smiled as Mr. Collins left the house. She had never met the young Andrew yet, and wondered why a man would leave his child with someone the child had never met. The child will be scared to death of me.

Winnie looked around the huge Collins Estate. Mr. Collins has everything. Winnie was looking for some indication of a Mrs. Collins, but so far it looked like there wasn’t one. She walked through the massive house to the kitchen, the family room, and then noticed the pool outside. I hope Andrew likes to swim, she thought, as she continued to stare at the sparkling water. Must be nice to live like this.

Winnie turned around and saw little Andrew standing right behind her. “Oh, hi, Andy,” Winnie said. “My name is Andrew, and who are you?” For a five year old, Winnie thought the little guy was very rude. “I’m Winnie.” “Winnie? Isn’t that the sound a horse makes?” Andrew laughed so hard at its own joke that he started coughing. “You really shouldn’t make fun of people, Andrew,” Winnie said, standing her ground. “I can do whatever I want. My daddy is rich. He makes movies, you know.” Winnie hadn’t thought about what Mr. Collins did for a living. She hadn’t asked. “My daddy makes movies with naked girls in them. You wanna see them?” “No, Andrew, and you need to eat your breakfast and get ready to go. Your schedule is very full.” The little guy stuck his tongue out at Winnie and then hurried into the kitchen where he made a mess of his cereal.

Winnie laid Andrew’s clothes out for him, looking around the little boy’s room. He has everything. I’ll bet he has every toy ever made in here. “Do you need any help, Andrew?” “No. I can do anything I want, and I can have anything I want, too,” he smarted back. “Fine,” Winnie said, and left the room.
