Santa’s last house

It wasn't going quite to plan,

for Christmas day was looming,

Vixen had a bubbly belly,

and Prancer needed grooming,

Comet had just stubbed his hoof

and Cupid practiced on the roof.

Donner hadn’t finished his supper

he said it tasted just like rubber.

Dancer was practicing his groovy moves.

Dasher was wondering if he’d ever improve!

And Rudolph’s nose wasn’t Red at all

It looked at bit dull and small,

So how on earth would he light the way?

For the night was snowy, cold and grey.

It was all the reindeer’s fault you see

I really do think you’ll agree,

and much to Santa’s great dismay,

there was going to be a huge delay.

Never mind.

He had a new thingy installed

Sat Nav it was called

that’s all he needed anyway

to direct his fabulous reindeer sleigh,

his Elves had given him it last spring

but he found it a very difficult thing!

Mrs. Claus said, “It’s the latest gadget”

“Get used to it, it’ll be magic”

Anyway,

after a shocking, bellowing shout

Santa had his reindeer line about,

in their proper places.

They said Goodbye to Mrs. Claus

and with a cheesy dramatic pause

they shot across the starry night

starting their very long flight

in the Christmas sleigh.

But they couldn’t really see the way,

Rudolph’s nose still wasn’t Red,

which was bad since he was up ahead,

so all they could do was pray!

He’d get the Sat Nav working soon

if he could only remember how

from his lesson that afternoon.

Across the oceans, streams and rivers

through damp clouds

that gave Santa the shivers.

He pushed a few buttons on the Sat Nav

Oh what a bother he was going to have.

The red light was on

it should have been off,

the blue light was blinking

that got Santa thinking!
