When he came to, Peter felt a great hunger.
It was a quick process. One minute, he was outside himself, his conscious thought transplanted to some other plane of existence. The next moment, he came to his senses deep in the forest, in complete bewilderment. He stared down at his arms and legs. He was human again, all right, but something was terribly wrong. His fingers and hands were stained red, and when he licked his lips he could taste blood on his lips and teeth. There was a roiling desire in his belly, as if Peter's hunger had been only partially satiated. He shivered. He was out in the wilderness, naked, and he could tell there was only another hour or two of sun left.
He remembered everything that had happened. He had had sex with Nathan in his bedroom, sucked his cock, gotten fucked by him. Then the following morning there was the tryst with Sven in the strange dungeon room. And then...then Nathan had tried to kill him. Yes, he remembered that very clearly. They had him tied down and Sven approached with the dagger. But then what happened? He had changed.
But into what? A beast?
He remembered when the wolf creature had attacked him the night before, taking a chunk of flesh from his leg. Peter looked down at where the wound should have been, but it had completely healed. Now the only blood on him came from something...something else.
Peter could see a trail of crimson staining the grass, leading away from him. Not knowing what his options were, still naked and confused, he set out following it, tracking the red markings across the ground in the growing darkness. The trail led him a quarter mile away, and it was there that Peter came across the carcass of a rabbit, its head brutally torn from its body, the skeleton exposed next to chunks of discarded flesh. He stared at the grisly tableau for a few moments, and shuddered. He couldn't remember the last few hours, but he knew he had...transformed, somehow. Had he done this? Had he ripped apart this rabbit like a savage beast? The thought seemed too bizarre to contemplate, but the trail had led directly to him. He didn't see what other solution there could be.
Peter stood there, cold and afraid. There were decisions to be made. He had to find his way home. He couldn't just stand here shivering until it got dark. It was very likely he would freeze to death. Also, he didn't know who was looking for him. If Nathan or Sven found him wandering out here, he didn't know what would happen. Peter strained and started walking in the direction he thought led back to the mansion. After a bit of hiking he could make out the tips of the parapet like structures rising from Nathan's mansion. Another fifteen minutes and he was there. It was almost fully dark now. Peter crouched down and made a beeline for his car, which was still parked in the driveway. Quietly, he grabbed a spare pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt he kept into the trunk, and changed into them. Was his spare key still in the glove box? He checked, and breathed out a sigh of relief when he found it. He started the engine and peeled out of the driveway, hoping never to return.

Back at his dorm at Wabash, Peter finally felt safe, but he was at a loss about what to do. Nathan had tried to kill him, there was no doubt about it. He was upset and angry. Did Peter really mean that little to him? He thought about going to the police. But what would he say? Tell them his former lover had bitten him and turned him into a wolf, then tied him up and tried to cut out his heart? They'd laugh him out of the station, or lock him up in the loony bin. Peter was also worried about the odds of transforming again. Nathan had seemed surprised when he had changed in the dungeon. Would it happen again?
