Fr. Jerry was growing tired. He worked part-time as a Hospice Chaplain and in addition he was administrator of a local parish. He had already spent a good part of the morning answering the phone; mostly for people inquiring what time Midnight mass was scheduled. He patiently responded to each phone call, “At Midnight.” “Great,” the callers would echo. “See you tonight.” Like many ministers preparing for Christmas celebrations in their churches, Fr. Jerry was growing weary from all the Holiday busy work. The “business” of the Christmas season stole away from his Christmas spirit. Something Fr. Jerry knew he needed to experience.
