Everyone has heard of Mind Power. There are many definitions and interpretations of the term but it is in your interpretation that you will find the true meaning of Mind Power. There is nothing in this book that can define it for you. This is simply the information and the techniques you need in order to find your path to using your own mind power, and creating your own definition.
Only you can define your mind power, and only you can use it. Each individual that uses this book will get something different from it. They will find their own individual sources and uses of their personal mind power, and so will you.
It should be said that this journey into using your mind power will not be an easy one. Most people do not like to explore their own inefficiencies.
It is important to explore how you currently think in order to know what you will need to change. Believe it or not, sometimes the way you think about things determines how things turn out for you. For example, if you think that you are going to get wet in a sprinkle of rain, you probably will. Because your mind is not prepared for the circumstance, you have no control over it. However, if you know it is sprinkling rain outside, and you grab your umbrella you probably will not get wet. You controlled the circumstances in the way your mind prepared you.
Most people will say, “Well, that’s just common sense.” Yes, it is. But some people do not think ahead, and therefore do not control simple situations in their lives.
Look around you and find those obvious choices that you simply overlook each day. What is the weather going to be like? Did you put fuel in your vehicle? What are you fixing for dinner when you get home from work? Choose those small things and think about them. Change the way you think.
You cannot continue to think in the “here and now” for your entire day. You have to devote some time to “then and there,” by looking ahead. At this point, you don’t have to look ten years down the line, but rather just your tomorrow. Remember that we are going to take this process of changing slowly so that you are comfortable with it. A lot of people do not like change, and some do not acclimate well to it. However, if you focus your attention on what you want in life, you will find a way to embrace the changes that need to be made.
When you are finally able to think through your whole day, planning for the events you know you have to get through, you are ready for the next step in reaching your goals in using mind power. You now know that you will be changing the way you think throughout this process, and now you are more prepared for it. In keeping an open mind, and knowing that changes are imminent, you are properly prepared. Your mind is already preparing you for what you will be doing to find your mind power and using it.
You already know you have to change the way you think. First it is time to see where you are right now. You have to be able to look at your life as it is at this very moment in order to figure out where you want to be. We’ll go into this more later, but you at least have to know that you are going to be doing some digging into your life, and sometimes you will notice things that you really are not proud of. That’s all right. Everyone has those moments. There are times in everyone’s life that were not the greatest of times, and the decisions made were not the smartest. But you have to remember that “hind sight is 20-20.” In other words, if you knew then what you know now, the situation would be different.
That is why we are going to look at your path in life right now. Not years ago, and not in the future. You have to look at where you are now. What is it about your life that you want to change? Why do you want to change it? You have to ask yourself these questions, and you have to be honest with yourself in answering them. Write down those questions, and write down your answers. No one else has to see them. These are your personal thoughts. For example, if you don’t like your job, write down why you don’t. Make those feelings real to you by seeing them in black and white. Then write down what you want to change about your job. You don’t have to get real specific at this point, but you will have an idea of the source of your life’s dissatisfaction. It is step one on a walk toward using your mind power.
