From the Author: Why I wrote this book:

I wrote this book when I hadn’t seen a very close friend for about ten years. Her name is Karen and her husband, Don came to visit me for a week. I noticed immediately that they didn’t touch, kiss, or show any kind of affection to each other.

Karen and Don have been married for over forty years. This should tell you something about them. They were a typical couple living together, knowing each other’s wants and needs. They were comfortable together but something was missing. They loved each other but the affection was not there. Their relationship is what I called frozen in place. It needed a little thawing and guidance.

I took it upon myself to approach Don who I have known for over thirty years with a few suggestions. I should never have approached him on such a serious subject while he was in the middle of listening to his favorite baseball game on the radio; but I wanted to catch them apart where Karen couldn’t hear my conversation with him.

This was a private conversation based on a truly touchy subject based on my love for the both of them. I wanted to see the ice melt and for them to rekindle their first years together. I knew it wasn’t any of my business but when did that stop me.

I took a deep breath and asked if he had a minute to talk to me about something important. He told me not now he was listening to his favorite baseball team on the radio. Nobody interrupts him when he is so involved.

I said, “sorry to interrupt but you are both my friends and I want to see you both happy. I want to make some suggestions in how to do that.”

I suggested to Don that he hug, kiss, touch, cuddle and hold his wife’s hand during the day.

He looked at me and said, “Don’t worry about my sex life. It’s just fine.”

I said, “I am not talking about your sex life I am talking about your life. I’m sorry to be so blunt but I haven’t seen either of you for years and I might not see you for years again. I left him to mull over what I said and went for a walk with my friend Karen.

When we came back from our walk Don amazed me and his wife, Karen, by walking up to her and giving her a hug and kiss.

He listened to me.

Karen was so amazed she didn’t know what to say. I said, “You can give your husband a hug and kiss back.” She did.
