The Little Bike

Once upon a time there was a Little bike.

The Little bike was owned by a little boy.

The little boy used to ride the Little bike everywhere. He would ring his bell as he cycled along.

‘Ting-a-ling-a-ling’, went the Little bike, as the boy cycled everywhere.

He went up and down hills, ‘Ting’,

around and around roundabouts, ‘Ting-a-Ling’,

and in the garden, backwards and forwards in the mud, and splashing in the puddles, ‘Ting-a-Ling-a-Ling’.

Now, as the little boy grew up, more and more, he became too big for the Little bike. Mummy and Daddy decided to buy a bigger bike for the little boy.

On his fourth birthday, he unwrapped all of his presents, and one of them was a big shiney new bike. A “big boy” bike!

The Big bike was very clean and stood very tall, and the little boy loved it ever so much.

The little boy got on his new Big bike and went out to play, leaving the little bike all on his own.

The Little bike was very sad. When the little boy returned, he put the little bike at the back of the shed and placed a cover over him.

The Big bike took pride of place at the front of the shed. "I am the new favourite bike", said the Big bike to the Little bike. “I will be ridden every single day now and the little boy will ring my bell at every corner he turns”.
