There
once was a 10 year old boy name Jesse, whose dreams and destiny ran
hand and hand. With the wisdom of his grandmother, Jesse became
living proof that you can do anything you put your mind too. He was
born in a very beautiful city in great big house with his parents and
grandmother. Jesse’s parents were both in the military, so Jesse
spent the majority of time at home with Grandmama. Jesse didn’t
mind, even at his very young age he understood that it was his
parent’s duty to keep him safe. Jesse would always say if someone
asked about his parents that they were helping God watch over the
world. Jesse and Grandmama turned free time into exploring, fun, and
learning.
Today was the
last day of the school year Grandmama asked Jesse to come straight
home from school? She had a surprise him, she was always rewarding
him with special gifts for making excellent grades in school. Jesse
watched the clock as the last hour past, his heart racing with
excitement! What could it be? His mind explored endless
possibilities. Jesse was so lost in his day dreaming that everything
and everyone around him faded away. The ringing of the school bell
snapped him back to reality and he noticed all his class mates were
up out of there seat and making their way toward the door. Jesse
smiled and started packing his things into his back pack.
Jesse said his
goodbyes to his classmates, and bolted out the door running home
non-stop. He burst into the door, almost out of breathe dropping his
book bag down on the living room floor. Grandmama I’m home, so
what do you have for me? Jesse repeated over and over again!
Grandmama walked around the corner into the room just as calm as a
summer day. Hi Jesse, how was your last day of school? Very boring,
but before Jesse could say another word Grandmama pointed to Jesse’s
back pack lying in the middle of the floor.
Being the
well-mannered child he was Jesse immediately picked his back pack and
headed towards his bedroom to put it in its proper place. There was
something different that Jesse didn’t pay attention to, his room
door was closed. He walked in and sat his bag down beside his desk.
Then out from under his bed popped the head of this adorable little
puppy. Today was the happiest day in the world for Jesse, he always
wanted a puppy, and he named him Flash. Grandmama had made good on
her word as Jesse had kept his promise as well by bringing home
perfect scores on all his reports.
Jesse started
each morning with taking Flash for a walk through the neighborhood.
They would run around in circles endlessly in the backyard rolling
through the grass and chasing each other. Jesse finally had a pet at
home to play with and his was as happy as a kid in a candy store.
Jesse, come into the house, Grandmama called, a package just arrived
in the mail for you. Jesse jumped to his feet and excitedly replied
“yes ma’am”, running full speed up the back steps and into the
house. Jesse had this remarkable passion for reading, so every
opportunity his parent got they would send him a package filled with
new books. Jesse enjoyed reading his new books, after reading them
he enjoyed placing them on the bookshelf in his room that he helped
his father build. Jesse thought it was so cool having his very own
library.
It
was a beautiful summer day, just like any other day in July. Jesse
felt a strong breeze brush over the top of his head and he knew
something remarkable was about to happen that would change his life
forever. Jesse and Flash were playing fetch out back when suddenly,
Grandmama called for him through the kitchen window. Jesse ran in
lightning speed with flash on his heels. She said come quick I’m
sure this is something that you want to see
