Time Enough
Why must we let life steal away from us
Work, bills, family, and stress consume us
We must fight back against the world
Take my hand lover and let us turn away
Away from every little thing beyond us
We can escape with just a few steps
Move in the opposite direction
Find our own path where we can be alone
Each step forces the old path further behind
Who knows what we will find
Walking down this path together
We must leave soon before it's too late
The path will obscure and trap us
Slowly losing sight of our love and dreams
We can't let this happen it must not be
Take my hand lover and run with me
Into the unknown together forever

Ginger hair dances freely

When our eyes meet I know a special fire
Warming my heart burning my soul

Autumn
The colors of your heart captivate
Changing daily over time
I stand in the glow of your soul's bonfire
Keeping warm and the chilly air at bay
I want to always be in this season
Somewhere between heat and cold
Only here do I feel truly happy
Energized by your colors and warmth
Our love should know no seasons
Only the Fall ever more
Winds blow across our bodies
Sunlight burns red through your hair
I feel the stare of pumpkins
Spying on our love as winds howl
Spirits walk past our circle
I fear nothing you are so strong
And in this of all seasons
Your power is beyond understanding
I submit mind body and soul
As my tears of love fall
You pull me closer still

Burning fire in your sweet lips
Your beauty obscured

Trapped beneath the surface
The ice of her heart was too thin
It looked safe to stand on
I started to walk fearing every creak
Soon I was far from shore and lost
The ice cracked and I was consumed
I fell through the hole into the darkness
Pulled from the light and warmth
Icy cold filled me with dread
My warmth fails to stop the cold
Soon I must surrender and feel that cold
I opened my lips and drank deep
At first I struggled but soon it was over
I fell hard and deep into the dark cold
A new life comes over me down in darkness
What will I become with you
The warmth and light are so far away
I don't care the risk is worth the loss
Everything I knew is gone
But you are there in the icy dark
That's all I need to know

Alone and so cold
Can no one see these cold tears
This sadness must end

Your heart's labyrinth
Somehow I found the entrance
Hidden deep in the forest
Wandering in I found a maze
Slowly I began to explore
Ever searching for the center
I found some false paths
Lost I pressed onward
Ever hoping the center was near
I'm still exploring the paths
Each false turn reveals more
I know now I may be lost
Forever doomed to wander
One day I may find the right way
Enter the labyrinth’s center
Then I will have to choose
Stay in your heart’s maze
Try and find my way back
For now I press on full of hope
Knowing the reward is worth the risk

The words almost escaping
If you only knew

First Kiss First Touch
Can you feel it my love
The energy rising between us
Our hearts in proximity
We are so close but not yet
Let us linger here inches away
Our lips poised in anticipation
So close to our first kiss
Wanting to bridge this gap
Connect and surrender but not yet
Instead look deep into my eyes
Feel the aching pain of distance
The closer we get the stronger the pain
It would be so easy to touch
The wait would end and we would be
But at this moment we are you and I
Two not yet one but soon to be
I just want to forever remember
This joyous pain of closeness
Before I knew your kisses
Before I felt your touch

How I long to drink
Full and deep from your cup
I can see it is full of love
My soul was damaged by others
Drinking your love will mend me
Repair these wounds
Help me to feel alive again
My heart’s thirst is unbearable
Only you can quench my needs
Pass me your cup so I may drink
Swallow deep until I thirst no more
I seek no other’s chalice
There can be only one cure
One respite from my loneliness
You hold the solution

Which path will lead me to you
Why am I so lost

Hidden Path
Late near midnight on a moonless night
A path appeared that was not there
The path was overrun and curved
Never could I see beyond the bend
Eerie sounds whispered in the darkness
Slowly moving deeper and deeper
Into a forest of watchful murmuring trees
Each turn in the path took me deeper
Soon opening into a clearing
I saw now a stone circle
Glowing softly in the darkness
In the center she stood
Her naked beauty overwhelmed my senses
I could not look away
She beckoned and I was compelled
No way to resist her power
Entering the stone circle I wept
The dark world beyond spun
She pulled me into a kiss
I felt my heart beat so hard
Unable to move I surrendered
Her laughter a song of pure love
I closed my eyes as we held each other
Then I felt the change
Icy cold and frozen in space
Her laughter now filled me with dread
The lady of the path that was not there
We ring of stones bound to her

Deep in the darkness
Trees whisper and reach for us
Moonlight guides our steps

Stranger Danger
Who was she I had to know
I saw her once and was hooked
Passing each other on the street
Our eyes met and we smiled
She winked and my heart raced
It was so long before I saw her
Across the street she didn't see me
I have to know her and see her
We shared a moment
Random connection or divine plan
Either way she is the one for me
Her beauty is undeniable
Such power she has over me
Imagine when she knows more
How hard she will fall
As I've fallen for her
So fast so completely
Only true love could be like this
And then I saw someone else
I was mistaken I had to be
The way she spoke to me
How she prepared my coffee
She was telling me something
Other guys would have missed it
The subtle way she flirts
Gives me a little extra for free
She's telling me she feels the same
Wants to love me and care for me
As I drink my coffee I get ready
Today I free her from her secret
She can finally admit her true feelings
No reason to worry because I love her
Fully completely deeply love her
She is the one I know it
I think she is probably the one
But you have to be sure
And this lady reading a book
She's here every day alone
Reading and coffee
How could I have been so blind
She has been sending me
Such strong signals
I am a fool to have missed this
She's texting someone
Probably her girlfriends
Wondering why I haven't seen her signs
I see them now my love
I truly madly do
Now and forever I will be
Yours and you will be

Now you will see how I feel
As we take our love to the next level

Swimming in the sea
Ships dancing through the waves
The hot sand beckons

No Wall High Enough
Fate and Destiny smiled when we met
Struggling not to notice each other
Trying to maintain our walls
Back to back we stood at first
Soon turning to face the other
We realized we are on the same side
Beyond were mazes of gardens
We found an unlocked door in our wall
It leads to a different world
Surprised at how warm and safe it is
The bright colors radiate a new joy
Joy we've only dreamed of
Streams flow past trees full of fruit
Our every thought visualized
Every desire quenched
As darkness comes I watch over you
Lying under the stars
Comforted by the beauty of the night
Each day we rise and kiss
Explore the garden deeper
Never knowing how far we'll go
Not sure how long we'll stay
For now happy for a friend beyond our wall
Each knowing there's no wall high enough
To keep us out forever

Our friends down the lane
Waiting for our arrival
There’s no time to spare

Heartland
Shafts of light
Pierce its flank
Beams cutting through
Its broken walls
Among rotting hay
And drifting cobwebs
Silence is king
Darkness is queen
No more noisy animals
Call this place home
No lovers steal encounters
In the creaky loft above
As houses surround it
It struggles to keep standing
A defiant corpse
Looking over dead land
Though all living inside have died
This unliving barn
Clings to its unlife

Agony and pain inside
Numb, mute and broken

Night Touch
Press your hand to my breast
Feel my quake from your touch
Moonlight sparkles in your eyes
My heart beats faster
Our hands guide each other
An orchestra of feelings
Played through our fingertips
Soft words are spoken
Deep looks exchanged
Hand in hand we soar
Through the window
Into the night's embrace
Warmed by the stars
Kissed by moonlight
We make a constellation
A fixed pattern of lights
Overcoming the darkness
Leaving the world behind
Hand holding hand
Knowing the answer
Before the question's asked
All in a moment
Warmly held in your arms

Unleash the dark energy
Deep within awaken

Who holds you when you cry
Stays until the pain and shaking pass
Watches over you while you dream
Always praying you remain tranquil
Run his fingers through your hair
Gently caresses your head
Kisses your soft lips at night
Hoping you feel how they make me tremble
The one you turn to when things are rough
Holds you long into the night
Wakes next to you each morning

Aloft on winds high above
Out of reach soaring

The Dark Fire of New Love
Words whispered in the fire’s glow
Conspire with me my love to learn anew
Your hand in mine we gaze upwards
Ages past young lovers sat as we
Marking the patterns of the stars above
The downward glance of Orion upon us
Sharing his strength so we may embrace
This night among the stars will transform
Hidden under the canopy of stars
Let us slip deep and sure
Into the darkness of new love

Crackling, popping smoky heat
Darkness held at bay

You can never know
From the moment we met I felt it
The slow burn of love deep in my heart
So simple a meeting so deeply moved me
My once frozen heart began to thaw
Scared to be hurt I resisted
Tried to imagine it was all in my mind
Not drilling deep into my revived heart
Driving it to beat again after so long
Your love transforms and warms me
Never have I felt so free to be happy
Walking then running I leapt towards you
Knowing your arms would save me
The fall seemed to last forever
And then you were there arms outstretched
I surrendered to your embrace
Suddenly the world fell away
There was only you and I
Until the end of time it shall be
Always and forever

Anticipation mounting
Kiss and surrender

Lost in the fog
Wandering the streets I am lost
Fog creeps around me circling
Shapes move in and out of focus
Are you there in the fog
Hiding and watching as I stumble
Unsure which way to proceed
There are no sounds in the darkness
Only the shapes and my fear
I run blindly onward
Seeking the path to your love
Fingers of fog reaching out for me
Grazing my skin I try to evade
Escape the terror of their pursuit
Find the place where your love is
A love that burns so hot and bright
That darkness and the fog are no more
But until that time I am trapped
Lost and alone with only my fear
Longing to feel your warm touch
Ignoring the dangers of the fog
Evading what lurks in the darkness
Hoping that I find your shadow
And follow it all the way to you
Take you into a long embrace
As the fog swirls around us
Our love will protect us

Lurking, seeking, finding you
No escape from it

En Guard
How quick time passes when I’m with you
Apart I am mocked by its slowness
The inconstant flow of time drives me mad
No amount of effort can hold it back
I struggle to make every instant eternal
Knowing the battle is lost before it begins
But I must try and fight this enemy
Unseen time strikes all around our love
Stealing away precious moments like a thief
Show yourself coward and let’s engage
For the love of my heart I will strike at you
Circle, parry, and thrust until you submit
Grant us back all those stolen moments
Render back all of our missed opportunities
You can keep the times we are apart
I will even give you everything before love
All those moments before she was here
If that will satisfy your insatiable thirst
Let us have just our time together
Slow your pace so they fill a lifetime
Bind us in a long slow dance forever
That is the reward I seek in this challenge
Let us see what you are made of
I will not yield or surrender any quarter

Smoke swirls above our heads
Wine fills our glasses
On stage a siren sings
Swept up in the moment
We feel the power in our hearts
A room of strangers connected
Feeling beats pouring over us
Feet tapping in time with rhythms
Warm energy all around us
Stirring feelings deep within
Our bodies come to life
The air is thick with intentions
Passions mix with the smoke
So alive and in tune with each other
Surrender to that connection
Bodies sway in time with the music
Dancing into each other on the floor
Performing before the stage
We are sharing our energy with her
The lady gripping the microphone
Like a lover she’s singing to
As we spy on their embrace
Swept up in the shared passion
We move on the floor before them
Connected by the moment
And the passion of her voice

First light streaming in
Sanctuary starts to glow
Shadows flee in fear

Waking early
The sun’s first rays had yet to appear
Stars and the moon the only light
I turned in bed to look at you my love
Your breath slow and constant
I watched as you lay sleeping
Thinking of how lucky I am with you
Such a wonderful lady by my side
You look so peaceful lying there
I reach out and gently stroke your hair
Stirring your breathing changes
No wish to disturb your slumber
And loving every moment
Such a strong feeling of love
You are my world and my all
I know soon sleep will retake me
But for now I am comforted
Lying by you and watching over you
While you are lost in some dream
I hope it’s a beautiful vision
As beautiful as what I am seeing
The woman I love at peace
A few inches away from me
The world outside shut out
We are alone and safe
Together in our love
Never-ending joy and bliss
Your lips so close

View into opposite soul
Thinking backward thoughts

Garden paths
Summer has come and our garden is alive
Everything blooming and full of color
Walk with me my love hand in hand
As we explore our garden together
Bees buzz around us moving to and fro
Watch them gathering the nectar
The sun warms us as we walk the paths
Moving towards the sound of water
A fountain bubbling in the center
Fish swimming in their stone pool
Birds watch us without fear
Finding our favorite bench we relax
Surrounded by so much color and beauty
Our garden is a haven from reality
Another world we can escape to
Stay with me here forever my love
Let the rest of the world cope without us
Close your eyes and listen to the wind
Whispering to us through the trees
Cooling us as it goes by and around us
Listen to the water bubbling and falling
Down the fountain and into the base
The fish swimming quietly in their pool
Let’s give them some treats and move on
Further down the path and into the garden
See what else we can discover
Around each new bend or path
We’re never lost when we’re together
Our garden keeps us safe from harm

The body hears all

Lost Touch
The first rays of morn fall upon our cold bed
You have gone and will never return to us
Why did you have to leave me so alone
Nothing and no one can heal me
I lay in the ending darkness so sad
You were my all and my life
Death waited until we were so happy
And in an instant you were gone
Each day I struggle to rise and shine
Failing miserably without my one
No compass to guide my heart
Home a word I used to use
Now just a place where I cry
Praying for the day I meet Death
And unleash my fury and rage
Never will he forget what loss means
He will learn a lesson that day
Love lost too soon so cruelly
Oh he will pay dearly and shed a tear
For the love he destroyed taking you
Tears will flow from his empty eyes
Shaking he will fall before me
Begging for forgiveness and redemption
Only then will he know the pain
Of one who’s lost all by his dead hand
And wallow forever unforgiven by me
My words and pain forever on his mind
Staining his cold empty soul for eternity

Surface beckoning above
Fighting to ascend

I have been so blind not to see
The unspoken passion between us
Eyes open I stare now deep into yours

No longer must you wait
The sky beckons let us take flight
Soar higher and higher together my darling
Forgive me for having missed your heart
Within reach for so long but not touched
Every day from now on you will know
How much I love you and need you
Fall with me into the stars
Soaring above the cold world below
Away from everything beyond us
I surrender fully and completely to you
Your love has cast a spell over me
Now that I see your love I am alive
Full of the energy of our passion

The stars above burn bright and hot
We cannot feel their warmth so far away
Your hand in mine we gaze up at them
The winter air steals our breath like a thief
But I do not feel the cold tonight
The very proximity of you warms me
I stand as if before a roaring fire pit
Basking in the glow of your love
I turn away from the stars above
And look deep into your eyes
You smile and we embrace
The soft sensuous feeling of your lips
Your hands gently on my back and neck
The tickle of your hair on my cheeks
All these treasures are mine and warm me
We are one when we embrace
Neither the darkness nor the cold
Has the strength to break through our circle
Our love protects us and keeps us whole
Never leave me my love and I will stay true
Your love saved me and protects me
It makes the winter nights so very warm
