Once upon a time...
Long, long ago there was an old town where people threw their rubbish into the streets and it was the animals that cleaned it up. This town was called Garbage town. All kinds of things would end up in the streets, old rotten meat, old bread, old smelly fruits, worn out shoes, mouldy cheese and anything broken or rotten.
The cats were quite smart and they were in charge of all the other animals. They got first pick of the thrown out rubbish. Next in line were the dogs, they barked at everybody. They would eat the rotten meat and the dried up old bones. Next down the line came the pigs. Well, they ate old rotten furniture, worn out shoes and old clothes. The rats would eat the mouldy cheese and old bread. At the end of the line were the flies. They had to eat anything old and smelly, like old smelly fruits, rotten eggs, and pooh.
One day
there were two flies sitting on top of a big pile of old rotten fruit
having a conversation.
“Do you know, I am fed up with the other
animals treating us that way,” said the big fat fly.
“Treating
us which way?” said the other fly.
“Well you know,”
explained the big fat fly. “Like we have no use. They call us names
like filthy, stinking, rotten, dirty and old. Look at me. Do I look
old? The food we eat might be filthy, stinking and rotten but we are
not filthy, stinking or rotten.”
“What’s the matter big fat
fly, are you feeling a little unloved? asked the other fly.
“No,
I just want some respect,” replied the big fat fly.
“You just
want some respect. Are you joking? You are a big fat dirty fly and
you want some respect. Get out of here.”
