As the sun rises; Happy the rooster begins to crow. Rylee awakens at the sound of her friend. She runs to the window and hollers; “I am coming Happy; hold your horses,” she said. She dressed in her favorite overalls, a pink shirt and her favorite pink boots. She grabbed her cowgirl hat and ran down the stairs. She almost made it to the front door when she heard her Mom’s voice coming from the kitchen. “Stop right there little missy,” her Mom said. “Awww come on Mommy I have to get to the barn. The animals need me,” Rylee said. “Not until you eat a good breakfast,” Mom said. Rylee jumped up into her chair; she was trying to eat her oatmeal and toast as fast as she could. “Slow down Rylee,” Mom said. She gave her mom a smile. She knew she better behave or she might get in trouble and have to cancel her adventures. She finished her breakfast and jumped down from her chair. She put her cowgirl hat on and hugged her mom’s leg. Her Mom leaned down for a kiss and Rylee left a gooey oatmeal smear across her mom’s cheek. Her mom just laughed as she used her apron to wipe it off. “Rylee you be safe and stay close to the barn,” Mom said. “I will,” she said. She ran through the living room and out the front door.
