Taking into consideration that the attorney is the last foothold in our protection against the loss of liberties, you should be the first person to wish to hold your attorney accountable for a valiant effort to protect your children's future.
Lawyers should have a credit rating of sorts to prove to the consumers that they can perform.
A lot of lawyers misrepresent themselves to the client, then bail out on them in the final stages.
Did you realize that there are no jury schools/classes?
You are expected to take the prosecutors word as if he had been present at the crime?
Do you know that the prosecutor opens the case then the defendant gets a try at a defense, and the prosecutor closes his argument?
He gets two shots at a defendant, and the defendant only gets one.
This is a loss of rights and liberty.
More and more, the public is insisting on better proof as the television shows like CSI bring more knowledge to the public.
There is actually an action in the law called the prosecutors favorable light which means if it is closer to a 50/50 call on a decision; it defaults to the prosecutor's argument.
This is a loss of rights and liberty.

A private website should attempt to graded an attorney's practice as to (1) scope of representation, (2) effective counsel, (3) communication, (4) fair billing,(5) attitude, etc.
It has come to our attention that a large number of attorneys have been abusing the system and their clients to extract fees, which are not justified in billable hours.
As well as providing ineffective services for the same.
A continuation of this practice will allow for the erosion of even more of our civil rights.
Research your options and interview attorneys.
Get your best value and check the site for their grade that they receive from their clients that they have provided service for already.
Ask to be a certificate holder on their insurance coverage, i.e. errors and omissions, etc.
Escrow monies to be paid out as services are provided.
Attorneys can and do bail out on you after you have paid them up front fees.
Have the attorney account for billable hour to assure you do not get over billed.
Demand to be educated as to the potential outcomes of your case, the various laws and motions encompassing the case, and demand copies of the same.
Have copies made of conversations or topics discussed of any conversation you have with the attorney, taped or written to prove out your requests were established as to how you wanted an action to be approached. It protects you from errors later.
Get an established communication routine or you may be set on the back burner.
Go to the law library and do some research on your case.
Do not count on everyone to do their homework, because they don't/won't.
The Kansas City Star reported a 166% increase in prison expenditure from 1985 through 2000. Compared to a 24% increase in school expenditures for the same period.
The 9-29-02 issue if the New York Times shows that prison population was a stead 500,000 from 1940-1985.
Comparing this to the huge increase from 1985 to the two million held in 2001.
Logically the courts are realizing this same 166% increase in fines, fees and cases.
Logically the attorneys are seeing the same.166% in clients and revenue.
Logically the law enforcement personnel will reflect this same 166%.
Logically the bondsmen are experience this same 166% increase.
The loss of jobs has got to be a factor of the increase in crime.

Companies reap the benefits of U.S. sales but do not have to pay U.S. employees, unemployment, social security, or health benefits, so the taxpayer foots an even greater burden.
Not coincidently the exact same numbers of production jobs are going overseas. as that of those being imprisoned.
The Scientific American magazine June of 2002 shows two million production jobs going overseas.
These numbers parallel the years of 1985 through2001, identically to the growth in prison population!
166% law enhancement and redefinition are a major contribution to the boom in prison population and costs.
The use of multiplicity can manipulate the outcome of a trial by prejudicing a jury.
Blackmailing the defendants into taking a plea bargain also serves to over populate prisons.
The national average of plea bargain s is 95%.
When an attorney rolls with the plea bargain, it is more profitable.
Hold attorneys accountable to provide a valiant defense.

Juries must be educated as to laws. and to smoke and mirror tactics.
Juries should be allowed to take notes and ask questions.
Post release is double jeopardy and contributes to about 30% of prison population by cause of probation violations.
The practice of probation and parole after a individual has served their time incurs a huge cost to the corrections system. and amounts to double jeopardy.
If the individual were to acquire a new case he would then have a trial.
A fox watching the henhouse is when a prosecutor is allowed to become a judge.

Do you realize that when a speed trap is set up in the name of safety/etc., it is not on the city trying to increase its court cost revenue but mainly the goal is to create more work for the lawyers.
The main part 90% of the actual fine is to go to the federal level and the cities do not get rich on that part of it.
Additionally the prosecutors try to make a profit for their office. (Example) One city has a shoplifter court so that when the defendant comes to court, they are fined $400.00 per person - money, going to the court costs. They even go so far as one night is Wal-Mart night; the next night is Home Depot night, etc.
And, let us not forget the bad check fess the court extracts as collectors to their pocket if you flub up at the bank or the bank flubs you.
My personal favorite is when they extort court fees and fines from you by incarcerating you until they get their money - something no commercial collection services have the right to do, as well as suspending your driver's license until they get their money. This process should be illegal. But they are their own special interest group.

It is beyond belief that the United Sates of American is attempting not to allow illegal aliens to get a drivers license. If, as a nation, we were worried about terrorism, all the pictures, fingerprints, address data that could gathered would be to an easier way to have documentation and knowledge of their location, than expensive, covert surveillance, and not push away the very thing that is unknown and needs to be known!
