To resize the pattern, see viewing instructions above. You cannot resize it from your eBook reader. Right click on the picture. Copy/paste the heart and bow applique pattern into word, paint, or other photo program, which will allow you to resize the pattern. Resize to a width of 7 3/4” x 8 1/4” (aprox).
Print the applique pattern.
Fabric Requirements ( 12 BLOCKS )
Background…1 yard or 10” sq scraps
Hearts…1/2 yard or 9”sq scraps
Bows…1/3 yard or 6” sq scraps
Sashing…1/2 yard
Border…1/2 yard
Binding…1/2 yard
Background…(12) 10” squares from scraps or
Cut ( 3) strips 10” x 45”
Cut into (12)..10” x 10” pieces
Sashing
Cut ( 10 ) strips…2” x 45”
Cut (9) pieces 2” x 10” from 3 of the strips”
Borders…
Cut ( 5.) 3 1/2” strips
Binding…
Cut (6) 2 1/2” pieces
Applique the heart to the background and the bow to the heart by your preferred method
Applique by hand or sewing machine: fusible web (reverse the pattern), needle turn, or turn edges around the pattern.
Sew sashing to blocks
Sew the short pieces between the blocks first.
Sew the vertical strips next.
Sew the top and bottom last
Press the quilt top and sew on the borders.
Press the borders, layer the quilt top/batting/back, quilt as desired, and bind quilt.
