Uncertain Future

Jade glared at the school. She felt lousy. She had had a tough test. She just wanted to walk away. She knew she had failed. All she had written had been dribble. Her mind had stopped when she had needed it to work, and she knew her college dreams were over.
“Hey Jade;” greeted Colin as he glared at her from the side of the curb.
“Hey;” told Jade as she smiled a slow smile as she blinked tears inside of her eyes.
“Wanna come to my place for a drink?” asked Colin as he smiled a white smile that was full of bleach and made his enamel glow.
“I don't know;” muttered Jade, unsure if he meant a drink of a bout of hot sex. “I was just going to go home;” she muttered as she pointed at the spot where a bus was scheduled to park in forty minutes.
“Come on, don't be a grouch;” told Colin as he smiled and took out a set of car keys. “Who needs to be a grouch when you can get up to some fun!” he sung.
“Well...” muttered Jade as she tilted her head and looked to the curb which looked so hot it could have melted back into liquid form. “Okay, but just a drink;” she muttered.
“I love drinks;” told Colin as he opened his arm and caught Jade as she neared. “We're going to have a Martini;” he told.
