The new leader of the free world chewed on his pen and glared at the crossword puzzle in front of him. 33 across - 25 letters, second letter B, clue: mythical (?) country recently discussed in the last Republican candidate debate. He tapped the pen against his teeth and summoned up ancient memories.
Drinking, baby kissing, grandstanding, lambasting, back-room deal-making, speechifying, he remembered all that, but what was this? He grabbed the green phone and barked into it. "Carl, did you get an answer out of him yet?"
"He won't spill, boss. He keeps going on about 'journalistic integrity.' No one knows what that is; we have our history and philosophy consultants studying it now."
Tick-tock, tick-tock... he glared at the oval clock on the oval desk and its relentless advance. One more hour and he was a goner. Work, brain, work! He chewed on his pen some more and then on his fingers.
