Many men and women on this earth lead a life of "quiet despair"-why so much despair, violence and desolation? For a great many reasons:
* Problems of Unemployment
* Health
* Social Injustice
* Drugs
* Child Abuse
* Insecurity
* Crime
* Wars
* Inflation
* Recession
* Taxes
* Pollution
And Am Sure You Can Add To The List!
The main reason for all these tensions, all these economic and social problems is that we are "Entering A New Era" In fact major changes are about to take place on a planetary scale; they are already written in the stars a long time ago, prophets and great clairvoyants such as Nostradamus were already predicting the changes that would occur at the beginning of the 21st century.
But You personally, what can you do to live happily through these great changes which are unfortunately destabilising the lives of so many people?
My Manual provides the answer to this very question. With some confidential instructions and precise information, you will soon have the wisdom and expertise of the Initiated at your fingertips...which will enable you, too to become an Initiate.
Each of these secrets involves making simple changes to your way of living and being. Changes as simple as pressing a button to open a door. These great Initiates have bequeathed all the information required to lead a full and happy life free from despair, especially in an environment where conditions of life are unfavourable or particularly difficult.
This heritage has remained hidden for a long time, awaiting the right moment to be revealed to deserving people who will put it to good use . At the dawn of this new Era, the time has come to reveal it to a number of specially chosen individuals, so if you have read up to this point then you have what it takes to become an Initiate and learn from the Grand Masters.
You have clearly indicated your desire to become one of these Initiates and to change your destiny in a lasting and durable manner so that life finally brings you what you hoped for. I Know ("I Feel") that your deserve it and are worthy of it, and I am pleased to be able to offer you my help by placing my gifts and my secret instructions at your disposal. By applying them faithfully, conscientiously and with perseverance, there is no doubt whatsoever that you will be able to completely transform your life!
Let us consider the deep cosmic truths contained in these secrets, the great Universal Principal to which they are directly linked.
This is the basic principle: you must make every effort to keep your body healthy and to lead a fit and healthy life. In fact, the first "mission" of the Initiated is to "free" their body from anything that can imprison it (for example : illness, pain, tiredness). This is so that you can experience The Power Of Being. And this is where you must begin, since it is the most fundamental part of you.
You should understand that your body is the expression of your life; your body is your Bible, your Encyclopaedia, your life history, in fact everything that happens to you is in some way "recorded" and reflected by your body. Wisdom is written into your body-in each of the cells that compose it-and this wisdom which comes from the divine creation, is INFINITE. Your body knows this instinctively' it "feels" it's divine origins.
The close relationship between your inner life (your moods, frame of mind, psychological disposition, mental attitudes, thoughts, emotions) and your body is indivisible, inevitable and unavoidable. In other words,
The marriage between body and mind can NEVER end in divorce.
But for this marriage to be happy and successful, you must respect the need of your body, look after it and love it like a friend, your best friend. The way to achieve fulfilment begins with the body. It is only when you really "inhabit" your body that you will begin the journey that leads to outward development, abundance and happiness.
Being (which is synonymous with existence, energy and vitality) means that your mind inhabits your body completely, that your "self" occupies all the space due to it within your body.
Have you notice how many people are not actually in there body? who are not "at home" who do not experience their body in the present ? The great majority of people live alongside themselves, in there head, in their memories, in their future projects, and ignore the need of their body, rather like absentee landlords. The main reason for this is that many people lead a sedentary life, an "illness" that involves spending most of their time sitting or lying down without taking any physical exercise, without the movement that is crucial to maintain physical and mental vitality.
How often do you hear people say: I know I should do a basic amount of exercise, play a sport or workout in a gym...but in the evening, I'm so tired I just sit in front of the television; I don't have the energy to go out to the gym or to do any exercise.
For many people doing exercise means performing the following series of actions: getting up from their chair, finding gym clothes that don't make them look fat or ridiculous, finding their gym shoes, putting everything in a bag, leaving the house, going to where the car is parked (or to the garage),getting into the car, driving through traffic to the gym or leisure centre, finding a parking space, walking to the entrance, going to the changing rooms, getting changed, going to the body building or fitness area or joining a class, having a shower...and then doing everything else in the reserve order.
It's hardly surprising that people feel exhausted before they even start! And yet you can take exercise in a completely different way, using opportunities in your everyday life. You can develop your VITALITY without unpleasant efforts or tiredness-and absolutely free of charge!
Is it too good to be true?-No
My book will show you extremely simple, but extremely effective ways of doing this. They will enable your to maintain and develop your physical and mental health on a permanent basis. These techniques, adopted and used by all Initiates, can transform your everyday life so that tiredness and pain are increasingly replaced by vitality and well-being. With the method I suggest, you will discover that it is easy to live a healthy life.
Did you know, that by walking briskly for twenty to thirty minutes, five or six times a week, you can achieve three quarters of the physical stimulation achieved by an athlete following an Olympic training programme? Surprising, isn't it? This has been demonstrated by scientific studies which prove that simple walking, carried out in an enjoyable manner, energises the body in a way that is comparable to hours of intensive daily training.
You don't have to impose drastic measures, or suffer and groan, in order to keep fit. You only have to apply the techniques I am about to describe and which are above all pleasurable experiences linked to a feeling of well-being. But , to give you a better idea of what I mean, let's consider why a person's vitality tends to decrease as they get older...rather than remaining "at the service" of a robust health which would allow them to remain in contact with their natural resources.
A newly born child receives information from the world around it via the intermediary of its five senses and the sensations that occur within its body. Through exercise and play, it gradually develops the co-ordination of its movements and is soon able to move about and communicate with those around it.
During this time, it sleeps when it is tired, moves freely and expresses itself unreservedly by means of sounds, gestures, and imitation. Its instinct guides it infallibly through the various stages of its development. But the educational and social framework soon imposes limitations that will imprison the child within physical, emotional and mental stereotypes.
And this is the crucial point: this conditioning does not take account of the natural needs of the body and the child loses the spontaneity of sleep, movement and expression. It is forced to adhere to timetables, get used to immobility and artificially imposed positions and to expressing itself in a socially accepted manner. If these educational constrains are imposed to early or too"severely",they lead to disturbances that leave the way open for illness, emotional or mental imbalance, and this is how premature adaptation to life in society makes us lose touch with the "child" within us Fortunately, when we become aware of its existence, we can-whatever our age-give it a new lease of life and allow it to develop.
But to do this, we have to create "moments of childhood" for ourselves: within the confines of our private lives, we can allow ourselves to experience the natural freedom of the baby, the toddler and the child. This involves rediscovering the respiratory movements, sounds,stretching, attitudes, mimicry, sleeping, waking, discovery of the body and the environment specific to each of these ages and experiencing them freely in the privacy of our own home, since few people can bear the sight of an adult behaving like a child.
All these exercise release the tensions accumulated in our body, free us from our limitations, bring us the pleasure of movement and expression free from the constraints of conditioning. They form the indispensable preliminary stage to any attempt to achieve physical, emotional and mental fitness. The only obstacle to be overcome in order to practice them is the "ridicule barrier." Having the courage to cross it (and I know you have!) will take you into the realm of tolerance and understanding!
Here >> being fit is being BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, MOBILE AND SUPPLE
The following paragraph will help you to develop these qualities within you. Let's begin with:
"Mental Gymnastics"
Through imagination, mental visualisation and sensation, you can use the fantastic resources of your brain to prepare your body for exercise and develop its beauty, strength, mobility and suppleness. You only have to imagine, to see your body moving in your mind's eye for your brain to immediately transmit precise orders to the rest of your musculature to prepare the movements and ensure the necessary co-ordination.
The position and movements imagined, and then felt, produce measurable physiological effects. Your body actually benefits from a large part of the exercise that you are visualising. Did you know that a few minutes visualisation per day enables people who are unable to move to maintain there physical energy? People suffering from rheumatism and accident victims can restore the mobility of their joints by repeatedly visualising the free movement of these joints. Remarkable results are obtained in competition sports using this type of mental training.
The fact that you imagine yourself BEAUTIFUL, STRONG,MOBILE AND SUPPLE develops these qualities by creating "mental images" that are crucial to their acquisition. In other words the considerable power of the imagination "prepares the ground":by visualising yourself with these qualities, you literally begin to create what you want to become through thought. To do this you must...
* Close your eyes.
* breathe deeply.
* relax
* imagine or visualise yourself in a situation of your own choosing, in as much detail as possible (surrounding countryside, temperature, light,sounds,texture of the ground,movement and displacement of your body etc.)
Do this effortlessly, in a relaxed state, allowing the images to appear "of their own accord"behind your closed eyelids as spontaneously as possible. The more you practice this exercise,treating it as a game, the easier it becomes. By repeating it you will feel yourself "entering the image" more easily and you will actually feel the environment and movement you are imagining within your own body.
IMPORTANT: During periods of visualisation allow yourself to breathe freely and don't stop yourself stretching, yawning or making any body movements that occur naturally. Take every available opportunity to practice these "mental gymnastics"-I assure you that you will find them extraordinarily beneficial.
Developing Your Strength.
To be strong is to have an efficient musculature.
Isometric gymnastics (muscular contraction without changing position) is one of the most effective ways of developing and maintaining your musculature. A muscle that is not sufficiently stimulated at least once a day loses it's strength. A muscle that is intensely stimulated by maximum contraction for a few seconds reacts by stimulating the blood circulation and developing the strength of its muscle fibres.
For people in a situation of enforced immobility (in hospital, astronauts etc,), it has been proven that a few isometric gymnastic exercises each day are enough to maintain the musculature in perfect condition. This technique has produced some remarkable results in the field of competition sports. For city dwellers, it is a valuable way of "doing sports" as a part of everyday life.
You can practise isometric gymnastic exercise anywhere, at any time and in any position.
For example: at home, at work, in the car, at a show, while you are waiting for someone, answering the phone, sitting, standing, lying down or walking. They enable you to develop your physical strength and vitality in a discreet and intense manner. Believe me, doing these exercises on a daily basis will keep your musculature “ super fit” and enable you to gradually achieve exceptional physical effects...without feeling tired or stiff!
The principal of isometric exercises:
1. Continuing to breathe normally
2. Tensing (without external movement) one or several groups of muscles
3. Achieving maximum contraction
4. Maintaining this contraction for between one and seven even breaths, while keeping the rest of the body relaxed
5. Releasing the muscular tension
6. Breathing out deeply to relax.
Above all, do things gradually and NEVER STRAIN
Examples of isometric exercises:
a) To strengthen your back
Say goodbye to painful and debilitating back pain ! You will now be able to create a strong back by strengthening the deep - seated musculature that supports the spine.
Here is a specially adapted isometric exercise:
Join your hands in front of your head, with your palms pressed against your forehead. Pull your arm backwards, pushing your head forward against the resistance of your head.
Observe the techniques of isometric contraction. For this exercise, which can be done sitting or standing but with the back straight, your head must be perfectly aligned and your eyes looking straight ahead (you can check your position by standing in front of a mirror).
b) To strengthen your abdominal muscles
This will enable you to accumulate a great deal of energy around your stomach area and consequently form abdominal muscles that maintain the digestive organs in place (crucial to prevent you getting a “stomach” !)
Lie down on your back, with your arms resting on the ground at your sides (us a relatively firm surface, for example a carpet or, better still, an “ exercise mat “ rather than a soft mattress). As you breathe in, raise your legs, keeping them straight and without supporting yourself with your hands. Maintain the contractions for several even breaths. Then release the contraction by lowering your legs to the ground.
Start from the same position and raise your leg and your back. At the same time raise your arms, keeping them straight and parallel in front of you. Only the lower back and the upper part of the buttocks should remain in contact with the floor.
Look at the tips of your toes, while trying to keep your back straight. Maintain the contraction for several even breaths, lie back on the floor as you breathe out. Practice this exercise each day, for a few minutes at a time, will ensure good digestion and clear intestinal transit. No more flatulence or constipation !
c) To relieve pelvic congestion
This exercise, which aims to draw blood into the muscles of the buttocks, is an effective cure for bleeding of the uterus, period pains, gynaecological problems, haemorrhoids and to prevent prostate problems. Several times a day, tense the muscles of your buttocks, perineum (area between the anus and genitalia) and the anal sphincter muscle, according to the isometric principle. This exercise can be done in any position.
d) Isometric exercises for the face
This exercise is extremely useful for relaxing tension in the face and eyes. Following an isometric contraction, the subcutaneous muscles placed under tension relax deeply. Their improved elasticity prevents them becoming wasted which is one of the principle causes of ageing of the skin.
In fact, imperfections of the skin (wrinkles, age spots) are more effectively treated from the inside, by developing the musculature of the face, than the outside (beauty creams, plastic surgery etc.). The regeneration of the facial muscles leads to remarkable improvement in the circulation of the blood. This in turn leads to the elimination of waste tissue and revitalises the layers of the skin.
All you have to do is practise as many different grimaces as possible, stretching the facial muscles as far as you can and hold each position for a few seconds (isometric contraction). Breathe evenly as you do it and then relax the taut muscles as you breathe out. All these movements are beneficial. Provided they are not excessive or painful.
Walking, a gentle source of energy
Walking is an essential exercise for developing the mobility of the body and the harmony of its functions. It is a wonderful single source of renewable, gentle energy. The repeated, regular contact with the ground recharges your nervous batteries. The best times to walk are at sunrise and sunset, since the earth's electromagnetic energy is greater at these times than at any other time of the day.
If you have the opportunity to walk barefoot (in grass wet with dew or on a sandy beach, for example) this is ideal since you will rapidly build up a store of energy, which passes through the soles of your feet and circulates throughout your body. Walk in a natural environment as often as you can: in the countryside, forest, along a river bank, in a park, a garden, etc. Fifteen to twenty minutes walk a day is in itself an excellent way of keeping fit !
Walk smoothly and evenly without anything in your hands so that your arms can move freely. To improve your mobility and suppleness, walk using the “ toe-heel ” method, placing your toes on the ground first, then your foot, then your heel. To learn how to do it, practice walking backwards until you feel comfortable with the movement. The method avoids subjecting the spine and intestines to sudden shocks. It also stimulates the energy of the toes (where the reflex points of the head and the sense organs are located).
The spine will automatically find its correct position while you are walking if you practise carrying a - real or imaginary - object on your head. To release the tensions that interfere with your breathing, you can practise breathing out against resistance : breathe out through almost closed lips as if you were breathing through a thin tube, completely emptying your lungs.
You can also regulate your exhalations to the rhythm of familiar tunes or emit a sound that you allow to reverberate in your mouth, nose and throat (the vibrations of the sound will stimulate the sensitive areas of the palate and nose which will in turn stimulate all the parts of the body via reflex channels) Then let the air enter your lungs of its own accord, feeling your stomach expand first. In this exercise exhalation is active and inhalation passive.
These exhalations against resistance increase the supply of oxygen to the brain (your memory and concentration improve) and stimulate the blood circulation throughout the body. Yarning, sighing,growling,grunting,humming, singing, shouting, laughing and crying are also invaluable ways (used spontaneously by small children) of releasing your breath and expressing your emotions (all emotional tension automatically affects the breathing by blocking it in an inspiratory position.
Learn to relax
“ Instant relaxation “ will enable you to restore your energy anywhere at any time, in only a few minutes. To do this, settle yourself in a comfortable position, sitting or lying down. Close your eyes, carry out an isometric contraction of all your muscles and then breathe deeply. With each exhalation let your tiredness , worries and tension flow out through your heels into the depths of the earth. Pause at the end of each exhalation, before allowing the air to flow back into your lungs bringing tranquillity, peace and silence.
During the pause after each inhalation“ feel” the space within your whole body. Then visualise yourself in an “ ideal relaxing environment “ (by the sea, river, spring, forest, mountain, island, cave, nest etc.) where you are completely relaxed. Here are a few examples of scenes that you could visualise: a babbling brook, fluffy clouds in a blue sky, waves breaking on the shore, a symphony concert, a garden full of sweetly scented flowers, the different colours of a rose garden, tropical fish in an aquarium, etc.
In this place, use the energy of the colours to restore your energy. For example, imagine a magnificent rainbow: breathe in the colour - as if the air you were breathing was coloured - which corresponds to your needs of the moment (welcome what flows into you by trusting your intuition) and allow it to spread through your body. Then, as you breathe out, let it flow out through your heels. Return to everyday reality by stretching voluptuously. This whole relaxation cycle can be completed in only a few minutes, and enables you to recharge your batteries with physical and mental energy.
All these various exercises are based on the secret techniques of Yoga, carefully developed by Indian Masters. They were specially designed for the need of disciples wanting to follow the techniques of spiritual intuition. These pupils, who also worked hard to earn their living, usually had little money, time and space to devote to these teachings.
We have just seen it is necessary yo maintain a satisfactory level of vitality in order to experience to POWER OF BEING. i.e., to allow the mind to completely "inhabit" the body, to be aware of yourself through and by means of your body. The second "mission of the Initiated is to "express their heart" i.e., to give free rein to their emotions in order to experience the POWER OF LOVE
Our emotions need to flow, like the blood flowing through our veins. When the arteries of our emotions are blocked, when our heart is closed, our life lacks intensity and passion. Trying to love without allowing your emotions to flow is like trying to drive a car without any petrol in the tank. In today's society, many of us have unfortunately learned from a very early age to block, suppress or deny many of our emotions.
Expressing our emotions freely is often regarded as synonymous with “ suffering “, so to avoid being hurt we simply don't take the risk of expressing them. We get use to living in a state of emotional inertia, a sort of pervasive numbness which acts as a protective shield against suffering, but which prevents us experiencing the joy of living in the present. In fact, there is no point trying to escape from our emotions since they will emerge sooner or later, in one way or another, however hard we try to resist or deny them.
Emotions really exist: they are not thoughts that can be simply dismissed. They are not abstract concept since they are the U of the universal cosmic energy, this fundamental energy which animates us and which certain people refer to as Superior Consciousness, Supreme Power, Creation or even God. Unexpressed, repressed or suppressed, this energy become toxic. It surfaces in the form of swelling, growths, clots, tumours, spasms, migraines and all kind of other physical ailments.
Recently, a great deal of scientific research has shown that the repression of the emotions has serious repercussions on health. It is a well - known fact that people who tend to repress their emotions are much more predisposed to illness than those who don't. The only really healthy solution is to take a firm hold on your emotions, to get to know them, take possession of them and learn to experience and express them as and when they occur. Initiates and grand masters have understood this for a very long time.
The 5 basic emotions are essential to our survival and general well-being. The challenge is not to transcend them, but to transform your relationship with them. You need to regard your emotions as friends and express them clearly and frankly. One could take the attitude that there are two sorts of emotions : positive (good) and negative (bad) and that is therefore desirable to promote the good ones and suppress the bad ones by rising above (transcending) them.
Since time immemorial, non - Initiates have wrongly confused Illumination (Spiritual Awakening, “ Paradise “) with the “ transcendence “ of the emotions. Why transcend something which is real, which is part of life ? Why don't we want to experience our emotions ? Let me tell you a very basic secret : your emotions are not intrinsically positive or negative : they are quite simply the elements of your vital energy, each with its own vibration and its own function. Each of these 5 emotions is in fact an energy that vibrates at a certain level of intensity. This energy must be able to flow freely for you to really live in the present. Let's consider this more closely.
Fear
Fear is useful, and even indispensable, emotion. It puts you on your guard, catalyses your senses and intensifies your awareness. Although it may seem strange at first, fear is your friend. It is the radar that picks up everything and guides you on your journey through life. It is the basic instinct of human survival, on the physical, mental and spiritual level. It is vital to have a very acute sense of what can constitute a threat to your well - being. Sensitive, well - adjusted antennae indicate any form of danger, enabling you to identify the threat as they occur and to deal with them.
But the danger signals emitted by fear are suffocated if you have developed a for of behaviour designed to deny or suppress this emotion. By not paying attention to these particular signals of fear, this energy is dispersed and transformed into a general paranoia, a sort of ever - present “ chronic mistrust. “ This is why many people are subconsciously transfixed by fear. They are as it were afraid of fear, which prevents them transforming in into positive energy.
Suddenly they are afraid of everything : losing their job, losing their loved one, losing their life. They are afraid of success, afraid of being too happy, afraid of the truth, afraid of feeling anything, afraid of moving, afraid of change. Have you ever noticed (and felt within you) how unexpressed fear grips at your throat, neck and lower back, raises the shoulder, stiffens the jaw, furrows the brow, immobilises the pelvis and lock the knees ?
The various parts of the body bear the mark of fear, but we are so used to it that we are impervious to its messages crying out to be noticed. This all - invasive fear accumulates and expands, paralysing our vital energy and petrifying our emotions. There is no need to be afraid of fear per say, or feel inhibited or immobilised by your fears. Instead, give them the attention they deserve and allow them to express themselves as and when they occur. In this way, the energy of fear is released in the right manner.
Anger
Anger is a reaction designed to protect your integrity when you feel your personal boundaries have been crossed, when you feel “ invaded “. Anger is a way of saying “ NO “ to an injustice or a violation. Justified anger is immediate, clear and requires no explanation. It is like the bared teeth of a bitch protecting her litter. Real anger is focused on a very specific object and is perfectly justified. By expressing it, you expose what is inappropriate and defend your integrity in a way that is beneficial to everyone concerned.
Internalised and repressed anger can be seen everywhere : tense jaws, clenched fists, stiffening backs, jutting chins, raised voices and blazing eyes. If only we learned to get angry in the right way, spontaneously, protecting our territory against a real threat of invasion, anger would be an appropriate response, a suitable reaction to resolve the challenges we were facing, a remedy devoid of negative effects. Instead it tends to be a chronic illness whose powerlessness is ultimately destructive.
On the path of Initiation, it is therefore extremely important to express your anger and not to leave it buried and trapped within you. You will also notice that when you express your anger properly, it is followed by a feeling of compassion be3cause you understand what drove the other person to cross your boundaries. Anger then becomes an appropriate form of compassion.
Exercises for transforming anger :
Pile up pillows and cushions that you can hit with all your strength. Take a deep breath and then use your fist and feet to hit and kick as hard as you can as you breathe out. Ideally do this somewhere where you won't be disturbed (and where you wont disturb those around you) let yourself go, shout, yell and insult the cushions. Repeat the exercise as many times as necessary to get grid of your pent - up anger.
Remember, you simply need to make contact with the energy of the “ injured child within you “ and to have the courage to cross the “ ridicule barrier “ You will find this exercise is extremely salutary and has a number of benefits. On the same basis, you can unburden yourself by writing “ anger letters “ . For example, you can keep a sort of journal where you write down everything that sickens you and makes you angry.
Sadness
Sadness is the emotional relaxation or release that occur when your expectations and wishes are not fulfilled. The tension of expectation and intention melts like snow in the sun. Sadness hurts because it implies letting go of something you are attached to (whether it is a goodnight kiss, a gold medal or a relationship) and a sense of loss that you have to live with. We all know the outward signs of sadness: a dejected expression, a “ long face” , a hunched back, slumped shoulders, arms hanging by the sides, feet dragging along the ground and poor diction. It is as if the person's entire body is “ fading “
We obviously combat sadness with all our might because we want to be happy. And we conclude (all too rapidly!) that to be happy we have to avoid sadness. In fact, it is quite the opposite; it is only by accepting the inevitability of sadness that we can achieve true happiness. For sadness is the healthy way to react to the inevitable disappointments of life. Sadness therefore brings you into contact with the most vulnerable part of yourself ; it is an energy of release, like a storm that breaks the tension and clears the air.
It is a beneficial emotion which is essential to enable your BEING to remain fluid and able to respond to the changes that occur in life. It is important to understand that is is never desirable to repress your real wishes and aspirations simply to avoid the suffering that occurs if they are not fulfilled. By avoiding sadness, you only experience a superficial happiness and lead the kind of “ mechanical” life that sometimes conceals a subjacent depression. As you know, children cry a lot. They doggedly persist in trying to acquire something they have been refused and begins to bawl as a sign of protest. Life continually disappoints them and they make no attempt to conceal their happiness. Once they have cried, its over and done with, leaving no trace of depression.
When we repress our emotions, life stagnates !
When life disappoints you and denies your dearest wishes, sadness is an appropriate response since its purifying energy releases the rest of your emotions. And when you learn to express your sadness, you will find that joy inevitably makes an appearance!
Joy
Joy is the expansive energy of dynamic well-being, it elates, makes your eyes shine, puts a spring in your step, makes your whole being radiant. It is intrinsically generous, relaxed and open. It comes your emotional energy is free to react appropriately to the experiences you encounter. Think of the natural euphoria that you feel when you are dancing, running, or performing and other physical activity, at the point when your whole body is moving on its own, effortlessly, naturally, like an animal's body.
This kind of happiness can only occur when fear, anger and sadness are freely expressed. Joy is as important as the other emotions, and perhaps even more so. It cures, strengthen, and restores confidence in what your inner life should be. When you experience joy, spontaneity comes of its own accord, and you no longer avoid the fear of the present by always wanting to be somewhere else, in another situation, in the past or an uncertain future.
Compassion
You experience compassion once you have experience fear, anger, sadness and joy. When these emotions form part of your everyday life, you become more aware of them in other people and begin to understand other people's motives. Also, because you are no longer in conflict with yourself (because you have learned to express your emotions as they occur), you are no longer tempted to threaten (consciously or unconsciously) the vital space of others. In so doing, you give them the opportunity to stop being invaded by their fears.
In short, you are now able to give people exactly what they need, which automatically opens the door to success and prosperity for you (remember this, it is crucial !) What is compassion ? Compassion is not always a caress, it is sometimes a slap in the face. Compassion is being able to feel what another person is feeling while remaining sufficiently detached to understand their need and to know what to do or say.
Although we can experience another person's pain, joy or fear, they are not your emotions. They are rather the emotions that “ connect” you to that person. If you genuinely feel compassion for someone who is afraid, you will not be afraid. You will feel their fear and be able to establish a relationship with that person. People usually form a false idea of compassion : they think being compassionate means feeling devastated for the other person. Being compassionate means giving the other person what they need, which is not always the same as giving them what they want.
For example, imagine a man who is very sad. Compassion does not mean persuading him to stop feeling sad and pretend that everything is all right (if everything were all right wouldn't be sad.!) It means feeling the depth of his sadness and telling him that he has to “ pass through it “ and not try to skirt around it or avoid it, and possibly cry with him or smile at him to show you have recognised his sadness.
Many people think it would deplete their supply of energy to give something of themselves. In fact, it obviously requires a great deal more energy to maintain an attitude of cold indifference than to simply be guided by your emotions. The mistake is to equate emotional energy with fuel in the sense that the more you use it or make a gift of it, the less you have. Quite the opposite!
This energy is not a commodity that diminishes with use. Like the blood in your veins, it needs to flow, to be used in order to regenerate and keep you healthy. You don't save anything by accumulating emotional energy within you since it is ultimately harmful for the organism. Recent psychological studies in fact indicate that being kind to others has definite physiological advantages : these gestures that come from deep within your heart constitute a tonic and natural form of release for the body.
It is essential to be able to help those close to you (your partner, children, friends) to express their emotions in an effective manner. Compassion helps others to make contact with their true emotions - their vital energy - to bring into the open and expose the false (stimulated) emotions. Now you understand why it is so important to express your emotions. To be able to “ live in the heart, “ since this enables you to live in the present and experience the miraculous POWER OF LOVE.
And LOVE is universal energy, the key that open all doors, as if by magic, including the doors to success and prosperity, good fortune, harmony and happiness. I am now going to reveal some simple but powerful techniques that will enable you to explore and express your emotions. They involve what Initiates call, “ The song of the heart “
Songs are an integral part of all cultures. Songs express anger and suffering, joy, and sadness, our cares and concerns. Music and songs constitute one of those rare domains in which the exploration of the entire range of emotions in publicly approved and fully accepted, even in our culture where the tendency is to repress true emotions and replace them with pale imitations and stimulations.
When you think about it, you realise that we depend on singers in the sense that they provide us with an almost constant supply of emotional energy. While the art of the singer lies in showing us how to explore the range of our emotions, you can release these emotions by discovering the “ singer that lies dormant within you “ Singing is a simple and immediate way of releasing the flow of your emotions and allowing them to flow day by day. It is not a case of becoming a professional singer but simply a human being functioning to their full potential.
Exercise
Initially, you can do this easily by singing along with the singers you like and with whom you identify. Find songs and music which brings you into contact with fear, anger, sadness, joy and compassion. Sing as often as you can at home, in the shower, doing homework, odd jobs, at the wheel of your car, etc. If you are afraid to sing, or of singing out of tune, hum freely and deeply allowing the sound to rise from the pit of your stomach. Feel it vibrating throughout your body.
Hum from your chest, from your heart. Finally hum the highest notes, allowing the sound to vibrate in your head. The you can let the humming become a tune. Allowing yourself to be carried along by your singing, follow it into the depths of your heart and you will feel your soul “ tremble”. Sometimes, words will come, sometimes not. This doesn't matter. All you have to do is let the sound rise from your stomach and vibrate throughout your whole body.
This sound is the “ song of your heart “
By doing this, you will allow old “ negative” emotions to be dispersed, emotions whose energy was trapped in your body and was unable to go anywhere. Let it all out, the energy that flows within you now as well as the old suppressed energy. This is an easy, very reassuring and personal way to discover and express your basic - but nonetheless extremely powerful - emotions. If you feel like it, you can combine the singing with movement of your body, spontaneous dance movements that follow the inspiration of the movement.
What is the mind? The mind is everything connected to your intellectual faculties and psychological functions. The third “ mission” of the Initiated is to > clear the mind < in order to to experience the POWER OF KNOWLEDGE. Knowledge of what, I hear you say ? Knowledge of yourself, which means discovering your real personality, your true “self” the self that lies beneath the veneer of educational, cultural and social conditioning.
I can assure you that this “ authentic personality” is well worth discovering. The Greek philosopher Socrates (a great Initiate who lived 2500 years ago) recommended it in the following terms :
“know yourself through yourself”
“ Clearing the mind” means clearing your head of all its “ mental chatter”, its “ internal dialogue” (the result of education and conditioning), to see what is inside. Think of it in the following way : the true “ self” is the part of the individual which is governed by instinct: the part that tends to remain hidden, appearing rarely or never at all.
It is a part of the individual that belongs to their life history, their own particular and entirely personal experience of the cycle : birth, childhood, puberty, maturity and death. The basic instincts of human beings are formed by the teaching encountered as they pass through each stage of their life cycle. The person who aspires to be an Initiate must delve into their deep - rooted memories in order to understand how these instincts developed.
Discovering you mind
The mind operates like a camera : it creates, captures and records reality. Its depths are unfathomable and its energy unclaimed. People rarely live in a state of innocence (i.e., spontaneous energy, the innocence of the “ child - within - us “) the quality that gives us access to the magic of life. In fact, most people don't want anything to do with this magic ; they prefer security, predictability and even boredom. This is why they function automatically and superficially, with a mind that judges, calculates, operates with military precision and organises according to pre- established habits.
This mind-set is narrow, uncoordinated and thinks it knows everything ; but it doesn't know innovation, freshness or the magic of life. However, each of us feels intuitively that there is another dimension where we can encounter good fortune, success and prosperity. I call this aspect the intuitive mind because it is agile, receptive, resourceful and lives in the present. This “ attentive” mind is rather like a well - trained athlete, a disciplined dancer, a master of martial arts or master chest -player.
It has all the subtlety, suppleness, scope and knowledge required to be perfectly at ease with anyone in any situation. This is our natural mind-set ; it is our spontaneous way of thinking. However, it is usually suffocated early in life by training and education which force us to “unlearn” our natural way of being and impose an artificial model. In general terms, this artificial education is transmitted inadvertently by people who have themselves been artificially orientated and who are suffering as a consequence.
Condemning others is never a solution ; we can only work on ourselves to rectify the situation. It is therefore necessary to have major “ clear- out “ in our mind to enable it to achieve its full potential and true self - knowledge, a personal wisdom that is only achieved by and for yourself. Our heads are filled with so many different kind of thoughts that we can't even think in the present. This mental dialogue is constantly with us and keeps trotting out the same old questions, opinions, concerns, cautions ; who we have to be, what we say, what we have to do, how to do it, what other people think, what they are going to do, how that happened, what we need to look out for and so on.
We don't enjoy the freedom to act instinctively in the same way as animals or a Master Initiate. The human mind is like a bridge that provides a transition between an individual's lower and upper dimensions : it can lead to lack of awareness which results in problems, difficulties and misfortunes, or to Initiation which results in harmony, prosperity and happiness. And only YOU can make that choice. We both know that you have the will and ability to make the right choice. This is why I am revealing the Secrets that are essential for your success.
The 5 sacred teachings for your journey through life
Life is a journey whose itinerary is essentially the same for us all, even through our departure may take place under different circumstances and we may carry different baggage. Everyone is born, and everyone dies and most complete the cycle of birth, childhood, puberty, maturity and death. To achieve wisdom, you need to know how your character was formed in order to learn to rectify what prevents you achieving your full potential. The answers are written in your life history.
This history unfolds according to natural cycles, each cycle having its natural teachers : mother (birth), father (childhood), yourself (puberty), society (maturity), the universe (old age) . The unique scenario of our life history reflects all the relationships that you experience with those around you. The 5 sacred teachers - mother, father, yourself, society and the universe - teach you wisdom you need to know.
These teachers are naturally invested with the power to transmit the instinct you need to function successfully in a constantly changing world. But to rediscover and re appropriate all the natural instincts of preservation and development that your teachers have bequeathed to you, your mind must first of all “ free itself from the past “ to find itself fully in the present, to function in a magical and intuitive manner, and create a space in which we welcome your new life, full of success and great riches.
Isn't it better to produce and star in your own film rather than play extras in other people's productions ? You will soon find that applying my Secrets in all seriousness and with perseverance, which is a struggle and a battle for a great many people, will in your case soon become an amusing game.
Writing you own life history
You must understand that my words will not make sense until you apply them to your own personal experience. The important things are your mother, your father, your birth, your life and achievements. What has to be analysed and understood are your beliefs, your conditioning, your scenarios, the role you play each day and your life history.
The technique I am suggesting is remarkably effective (it also has the advantage of being inexpensive) and simply involves writing your own life history. Tell yourself that writing things down for your own benefit is a form of mental “ cure”
Method for “Clearing your mind”
Keep a personal diary, write your autobiography, or write letters about yourself: these are all ways of communicating with yourself, of discovering the truth about yourself and other people, and the realities of your own life. It does you good to keep a diary, one day it will keep you. Write down what you are, whether via poems, dreams,conversations, portraits,letters,memories,observations, thoughts,intuitions,confessions,drawings, quotations, or whatever happens to “ come into your head “
(I am speaking from experience since I did this during my apprenticeship to become an Initiate, the only difference being, perhaps, that I had to write in a language other than my mother tongue. Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to do the same !)
Keeping a personal diary simply means that you are taking your life seriously, that you care enough about it to consider it honestly and to establish and express the truth about it. Ideally, try and write each day for about fifteen minutes (longer if you want to) since this will enable you to discover yourself as you gradually find your own form of expression, your own truths and your own life history.
Buy exercise books and pens that you particularly like and keep them specially for this purpose. At a time when real intimacy, even with your lover, parents and children, is becoming increasingly difficult, letters provide an ideal opportunity to freely express your emotions and the real truth about your life, and are consequently a means of truly intimate communication. Also write to those who , live with you, expressing your feelings experiences memories and ideas on paper.
You can also do this using family photographs. Gather photos of yourself, your parents, your brothers and sisters, your friends, teachers, school photos, wedding photos, etc. As you look at them, think about and write down your memories, emotions and the special feelings that they evoke in you.
Become the Creator of your own life
You have at your disposal all the basic elements that will enable you, too, to become an Initiate. Now it is up to you to apply them in all seriousness and confidence in order to reap huge benefits. We have seen how the 3 basic Secrets, which form the first stage of Initiation, are inter-linked :
* developing and maintaining your physical vitality enables you to experience the Power Of Being ;
* “expressing your emotions”, fully experience your emotions feeds the Power of Love within you ;
* “ clearing your mind” free you from the negative elements of the past and enables you to live in the present, which gives you access to the Power of Self-Knowledge.
These 3 Secrets form as it were the “ foundation” of the Sacred Temple Of Initiation ; they enable you to accumulate the necessary energy to make the transition to a higher level of consciousness. By following my secret instructions and practising the exercises I give you, you will certainly develop a “ healthy mind in a healthy body”, but even more importantly, you will benefit from considerable physical, emotional and mental energy.
You will then be ready to approach the second stage of the initiatory process.The 4 Secrets that I am about to reveal form the second and final stage of the initiatory process: they invest the Initiate with the fabulous power of becoming the Creator of his or her own life. In other words, they enable you to:
TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR DESTINY
In the esoteric and occult language of the Initiated, mastering this second stage empowers you to "Receive Communion at the Altar of the Sacred Temple."
According to the Esoteric Tradition, as soon as first-stage Initiates have acquired sufficient energy to make the transition to a superior level of consciousness, they must use these 4 Secrets to maintain and extend this superior consciousness.
This superior consciousness becomes extremely precious for them since it represents their guarantee of success in controlling their own destiny.
They will use these Secrets on an everyday basis like "tools." This will enable them to consolidate their powers and make regular and confident progress.
These 4 Secrets are interdependent, closely "inter-related" in a subtle and logical way. In fact, you could even regard them as one single Secret (which Initiates refer to as the Mystery of Perfect Light).
However, to prevent this Secret appearing excessively impenetrable to you, and for reasons of simplicity and clarity, I have sub-divided it into four parts so that you can apply it more easily.
These 4 parts concern four mutually "overlapping" areas: relaxation, concentration, visualization and intuition.
By practicing these activities regularly, you will develop such superior qualities as creative imagination and divine inspiration; you will sharpen your spiritual "senses".
Together we will consider how to proceed: so give me your full attention and let me guide you through the second stage of your Initiation.
What is relaxation? It is the release of muscular tension designed to reduce mental stress. Relaxation can be compared to a particularly effective shield against the aggression resulting from an exhausting way of life. It makes it possible, through the control of the mind and body, to avoid inner tension, the famous stress that wears out the nerves.
Relaxation is a way of achieving countless - physical and psychological - benefits. Unlike sleep and rest, relaxation is not a natural function, a function that is performed instinctively when the need arises. Relaxation is learned and then practiced. Relaxing means placing your body and mind in an almost instantaneous state of complete passivity.
When you are in a period of activity, your body and mind are involved in your efforts. Your muscles and nerves are subjected to tensions of which you are unaware; your brain functions at full capacity, you don't stop thinking, your mind works constantly throughout the day.
Successful relaxation is achieved through the cessation of all physical activity and therefore via a process of complete release. When the body is completely relaxed, it also becomes possible to calm the agitation of the mind. When the body is relaxed, the mental-energy waves function at a slower rate, adopting what scientists call an "alpha rhythm." This particular rhythm is beneficial for the health of both body and mind.
Initially you will learn to let go, to relax, in order to rediscover yourself, example, rediscover your true self at will. This self, which can't be seen in the mirror, is however your most precious friend since this is the real YOU! Here is a simple relaxation exercise that must be done every day for about fifteen minutes. Choose a quiet moment and somewhere where you won't be disturbed by the activity going on around you. The exercise can be done in the morning, during the day or at night before you go to bed.
* Lie down in a comfortable position, making sure your clothes are not to tight as this will hinder your breathing.
* Remain passive for a few moments, with your eyes closed, listening to the sound of your own breathing.
* If thoughts come into your head, let them come, don't try to stop them.
* Inhale deeply allowing the air to expand your stomach. Hold the air in your lungs and count slowly to ten.
* Breathe out deeply through your mouth, drawing in your stomach.
* Repeat the process twice more.
* Breathe normally, steadily and calmly, making every effort to be aware of your breathing.
You will now begin to relax.
Feel the weight of your body "sinking"» into the ground. Let yourself go, allowing yourself to drift. Feel your chest rising and falling as you breathe in and out, feel the expansion and contraction of your rib cage. Listen to your heart beating.
* Now imagine that a wave of warm and peaceful energy is entering your body through your toes and is relaxing all the tiny muscles and tendons in your feet. Feel the energy flowing around your ankles and up towards your calves. Your feet and calves are warm and heavy, as if they were bathed in the rays of a warm sun.
* Let this warm, heavy energy flow up your legs and into your pelvis. Your pelvis is open to receive this slow-flowing current of smooth, mellow energy. Feel your muscles and organs relaxing as this energy flows gently along your spine, vertebra by vertebra, to your solar plexus, then your chest, shoulders, along your arms and into your hands.
* Every inch of your body relaxes. Your whole body is warm and heavy as this energy flows into your neck and head and relaxes all your muscles and tendons. Feel this warm energy flooding your face; let your eyes sink in their orbits, your cheek bones relax, your jaw slacken.
* Now your whole being is bathed in this warm and all-pervading energy. Be aware of the rhythm of your breathing as if you were watching a cork rising and falling on the waves, breathing in and out, rising and falling, expanding and contracting.
* Feel the movements of life, the breath of your soul. Everything is breathing on its own, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Your entire body is now filled with light and the spirit of life.
Initially, you can record this relaxation exercise on a tape recorder and follow the instructions of the voice (yours or someone else). Then with practice, you will find your own rhythm and will be able to practice it without the help of the recording. If you are faced with an "emergency" and need to relax quickly and at once, the following exercise will help:
Instant relaxation
This method is based exclusively on breathing. Breathe in deeply, expanding your stomach to ensure the maximum retention of air. When you have done this, hold your breath and keep the air in your lungs while you count slowly to ten. Then breathe out deeply through your mouth, drawing in your stomach to expel all the air from you body. Then breathe normally.
If you want to, you can repeat the process a second or even a third time if the need arises. Apart from enabling you to relax immediately, this simple exercise also has the advantage of revitalizing the cells of the organism. This charge of energy begins to take effect from around the fifth second of holding your breath.
Concentration is the ability to focus and fix your attention on an idea or object to the exclusion of everything else, even disturbing elements likely to distract you.
"Being able to concentrate" means having the power to focus all your mental energy on one thing at a time, without allowing yourself to be distracted by the events or circumstances that occur around you. By way of example, if you place a magnifying glass in line with the sun's rays and focus the point of light on the lens onto a piece of paper, the paper will burst into flames.
