About the Author

Divine Intervention

A step by step guide to help you recognise where you need to make adjustments in your life.

It is the greatest gift you can give yourself

We are all working through times of great transformations. These changes will bring about great rewards, so we are sending you help to show you how you can take control of yourself through these exciting times.

This is a simple step by step guide to give you the realisation of the outside experiences we all get caught up in. When you recognise the effect this can have, we know you will want to make the necessary changes.

You will be able to recognise where you are, work gently through the changes, and work on being true to yourself.

This is your journey.

The most important aspect of your journey is to work on yourself, and discover who you truly are.

It is not selfish, or self centred to respect yourself and honour your needs. The more fulfilled and enlightened you are the more blessed you will feel.

The more you learn to love yourself unconditionally the more gratitude you will feel towards every aspect of your life.

You will learn to go within and know what is right for you. You will feel stronger and more aware of whatever comes your way.

This will help buoy you along on your journey, and when the time is right you can choose to share your experiences and knowledge with those who come your way.

You all have the choice to be empowered. When you have the awareness, your life will never be the same again.

With the support of your guides from the Spiritual realm, we lead you through your journey, and take you on an exciting adventure to find your true self and your hidden gifts. You will find the answers you seek to find your true path; a new world is about to open up for you.

Whether you are already on your journey, or you are now starting, I am sure you will recognise many benefits within this new book. This has been guided to you, to help you work through these transformations as simply as possible.

I would like to thank all those beautiful clients, students and friends who have chosen to come to work with us. It is these wonderful friendships which have made this world a better place. Without you all, this book would not have been possible.

A big thank you to those clients who have allowed me to use their experiences throughout the book, to help you on your journey. Without them we would have missed a lot of valuable lessons.

All my gratitude and appreciation to Richard for his patience with helping me set this book up, and to Justine and Jamie for their help with some of the art work.

A really big thank you to Glennis for her special friendship, and for reading through our book and helping to eliminate my crazy mishaps.

A special thank you to my daughter Gemma who has read through our manual to see it would be helpful to those who are naive to the ways of working with Spirit. Thanks for your input Gemma. It really did help.

A massive thank you to Carol for her treasured friendship, and her wise words of wisdom through the years. We all need a loyal friend to be honest with us, and I shall be forever grateful to Carol for her friendship and her guidance.

It is the people I have met along my journey that have made this whole experience such a pleasure. A million thanks for all those beautiful people who have chosen to be a part of my journey. You have inspired me and allowed this Spiritual manual to happen.

I’d like to thank all of my friends in the Angelic realm, including my mum, for their loyalty and support. For all the wisdom they have given me and for their continual patience and tolerance as I have worked through my journey.

You really have worked miracles for me.

Foreword

Working with the Angelic realm has been an amazing journey for me. When I realised the potential of how I could enhance my own life, I wanted to share this beautiful way of working with others.

I have been running workshops with the help and support of my Spiritual friends for several years. I never cease to be amazed at the changes people are able to make when they start to get a new understanding of their situation, and how the guidance can improve their life. When they work in harmony with their Spiritual guides anything is possible.

It was during a series of Spiritual development groups at our local venue that I was inspired to start producing written information to support the teachings we were sharing.

It wasn’t long before I realised that my Angelic friends wanted to expand this knowledge in a much more extensive way. The messages and teachings soon started to create the basis of a book on Spiritual learning.

It is my privilege to be able to share the lessons with the people at the groups we run, and now it is even more uplifting to know that many more people can be reached and touched by our Angelic friends.

Divine Intervention is a simple and gentle guide, to help you understand how you can enhance your life when you decide to work with your friends in the Spiritual realm.

It helps you understand some of the ways you can make changes in your life, and recognise where you can take back your own personal power. It leads you through different methods of working with the Spiritual realm.

It is a work book you can follow through from start to finish, or you can dip into, and use which information suits you best. There are so many beautiful ways of working with the guidance from the Spiritual realm.

Experiment with each of them and see where you find your confidence and intuition growing. Then move onto another way of working until you feel at ease with that. This is your individual and unique journey. Let it unfold at your pace.

Take what information you choose, and bring it into your life’

The crucial message behind the book ‘Divine Intervention,’ is for you to keep it simple, and feel safe whilst working with the Spiritual realm.

We show you different ways of recognising how, and when you are being effected by outside influences. Then step by step methods to enable you to step back, keep your energies clear, and maintain your own personal power.

If you follow the simple steps we provide, you can have a very rewarding and uplifting journey.

Explore and recognise the difference you can make in your own life. If you wish, you too could go on to help those who come your way to find the same joy and fulfillment.

I have been encouraged to include some of my experiences along my journey. They will help you understand how we can all be effected by the incidents that happen along the way.

This is a unique journey for each of us. I think the best way to describe my journey is to say I have tried every way which doesn’t work, to find the ways that do work.

It has helped me gain a greater understanding of the consequences of the actions we take. Through all of my errors I was blessed enough to know my Angelic friends were always there to help nudge me, and get me back on track.

I think we can often learn more from the things which go wrong, than the things which always go right. Our mistakes can be our biggest teachers, as long as we can be aware of how to turn the experience around, and learn from it.

If things do go wrong for you, or you make a mistake, turn it around. Work with your guides from the Spiritual realm, and ask them to help you understand what you are working through. Together you can turn any situation into a positive, and then it becomes your strength.

Our biggest challenges are the ones which shape the person we become. You are embarking on a journey which will take you on a voyage of self discovery and enlightenment.

Each aspect of your journey will be covered within your manual. They are not ‘one-off’ things to do.

It is a priority that some aspects are constantly worked with, and so they will reappear constantly throughout your manual.

Work with the exercises frequently, because the more you use them, the better the results will be. You will soon start to see the benefits of repetition of the exercises, when you bring them into your life.

The exercises are leading you towards a new uplifting way of life. Repetition really will pay off.

Enjoy the journey, and the new person you can become. You are working gently towards your true self, and the person you were born to be.

Remember to be patient with yourself, your new friends in the Spiritual realm, and the pace of your journey. It will unfold and come together at the appropriate time for you. Please do not try to rush this process.

Your Spiritual friends are working behind the scenes for you.

Let it flow step by step. Success is the journey, not the destination. Enjoy a new world which is about to open for you. Enjoy finding the new you.

The Next Step

The journey in this book is based on the Spiritual development courses we run. My friends from the Spiritual realm have channelled most of the course, and encouraged me to put this into a workbook.

Our aim is to share the knowledge and beautiful way of working with many more people whom I would never have met.

This connection is personal to every one of you. You can use it to help understand what is happening to you, to enhance your life. And you can use it to find your true self.

You can turn it into a way of working where you can help others too.

This is your journey. Use it as you choose, and it will bring you joy, clarity and peace of mind.

Many of us do walk around in a state of confusion.

If you are feeling confused, unsupported and wondering what on earth is happening, we can show you an easier way of working through your life.

Connecting with the Angelic realm, and asking them for guidance will help bring more clarity and understanding. It will give you a feeling of strength and empowerment. You all have a team of supporters who could help and guide you.

Divine Intervention helps you to see where your life may have become cluttered and confusing.

It helps you to recognise when you are taking on more than is necessary, and see where you can adjust your life.

It helps you to recognise where you need to make changes, and shows you how you can have a less complicated life.

Divine Intervention is a simple and effective way of introducing you to the Spiritual realm.

It helps you find a safe way of connecting with Spirit, and feel confident and safe whilst doing so.

It shows you simple methods to use, and helps give you an awareness of where you can make changes to give you a simpler yet more fulfilling life.

It is a step by step guide to help enhance your life, and enjoy the beautiful work we are about to do together.

Part of the journey takes you through an understanding of why you act and feel the way you do, and how you can turn things around.

Learn to acknowledge and listen to the voice inside your head, your inner knowing, and combine it with the Spiritual guidance.

Allow your Spiritual friends to guide you. They will show you a new way to thrive. Together you can make a difference.

Allow yourself to be open to follow the guidance. It shows you many of the joys of working with the Spiritual realm, and the ways they can help you recognise and work through the pitfalls.

We suggest you read through each chapter, and then go back and work with the exercises we bring you. Most of the exercises need to be repeatedly done throughout your journey. The more you do them, the better the results will be.

Divine Intervention takes you on a journey of self discovery, to help you realise what can hold you back, and how you can change things for yourself. You too can turn anything around when you recognise what is causing you to be held back.

The more you work on yourself, the more uplifted you will feel. You are working towards rebuilding your own true soul, the person you were born to be.

The more you start to recognise your true self, the more you will want to pursue the ultimate goal of finding true happiness. You will find a peace of mind within as you pursue your life purpose.

Working together with the Spiritual realm can give you clarity and understanding. It can give you an inner strength and ability to tackle anything which comes your way.

Together we can all lead a more rewarding and uplifting life.

Divine Intervention will help you get the most out of your life

This is just the beginning

Together as One

A message from myself and our friends in the Spiritual realm

‘Welcome my friends, to the enchanting world of Spiritual enlightenment. It is a world within which we need to work with respect and reverence for our Angelic friends and our fellow companions. We need to honour those guides from the Spiritual realm, who come to assist us on our Spiritual path.

Any work we do within our Spiritual work, is done with compassion, confidentially and unconditional love. The work we do with Spirit is a learning for us all. We learn from each other, as well as from our guides. We need to respect each others’ feelings and individuality.

Although we have been brought together to learn, we are all different, and following different paths, so we should not compare ourselves to another.

We all grow at different speeds, and go through different obstacles and learning curves. We each have different karmas to work through, and different vocations to work towards.

You may find some lessons easier than others, or you may find some more difficult, but do not feel discouraged.

It is natural that we each have different strengths to explore. We would encourage you to work within these strengths. In time your other avenues of working will open up for you. Be open to receive the help and guidance from the Spiritual world as we work together.

It may take a little time to feel relaxed enough to receive the guidance. Be patient with yourself, and with your loved ones from the Spiritual realm when they choose to come close to you. It may be as difficult for them as it is for you.

Remember this may be a new experience for them too, and we are all learning a new way of communicating with each other. This takes patience, persistence and a lot of trust by all parties.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you are struggling and not getting the results you should. Together we can work through any challenge. It may be necessary to arrange a private session to help you.

I would encourage you to start keeping a journal, for it is so easy to forget the lessons we learn. This will help you to understand your journey, and put into practice what you have learnt.

As you grow and develop, you will become more aware of the environment you live in, and the effect it may be having on you. You may find yourself being more sensitive to things that happen to you, and wonder why you react in the way you do. You may seem less tolerant of injustices, and those around you.

If others try to undermine your Spiritual work, remember, it may be that they do not understand what you do, or are fearful of it, or the effect it may have on you.

Stay strong and feel free to talk about these issues with someone you trust. You will not be alone. This is often a natural reaction by those closest to you. You will be growing stronger and more confident with the understanding you are receiving.

If there are people who are negative or condescending about what you believe in, do not be discouraged, and waste valuable energy and time trying to convert them to your way of thinking.

Hold on to your beliefs, keep growing stronger, and in time, they will see the difference it is making in your life. There are many who will listen, and be ready to learn when the time is right for you to help them.

Stay strong in your beliefs my friends, and do not underestimate the beautiful journey you are about to embark upon. It is an amazing journey, within which you will receive the answers you seek to enrich your lives and further your learning.

Be open to receive. You have found your rightful path. Learn to trust, and believe you are worthy of the guidance you receive. Raise your expectations and allow us to guide you. You have your own gifts to develop and share, so honour that as you grow.

You have been chosen to work with us, as we have been chosen to work with you. In time you will learn to recognise us, but for the moment put your trust in your Spiritual guides and go with the flow. It will become easier and clearer the more we come together to learn.

As you develop you will learn to ground yourself, so you can keep your feet on solid ground and stay in touch with reality. You will also learn different methods of cleansing and protecting yourself, so you can comfortably do the work you choose to do. These are both vital if you are to work with the Spiritual world, and will also help you stay strong and focused in your daily life.

I hope you enjoy working with the Spiritual realm, and feel relaxed and safe enough to explore the avenues we take you down. The more relaxed you are, the easier it is for your Spiritual guides to work through you. Confidence and trust will follow.

Spirituality is built on trust, and this is the best place to begin. I look forward to helping you all on your journey of self discovery.

Enjoy the journey, be patient with yourself, be proud of your achievements, however small, and above all always be true to yourself and the work you do.’

Chapter 1

My New Beginning

The beginning of a whole new journey

For no apparent reason that I could explain, I found myself in a small village hall miles from home, with my son, and only a £10 note in my pocket.

I saw this tiny advert for a Mind Body Spirit Fayre, and before I could reason with it, found myself wandering into the hall. I wasn’t sure what it was, or why I was there. I felt bemused by my lack of co-ordination or direction. It felt like a surreal experience.

I wandered around the hall, noticing all sorts of unusual things going on. My son, true to form, wanted to buy anything that sat still long enough, but I reminded him that I only had enough money, for milk, bread and tonight’s dinner. I wasn’t here to spend money, just look.

I was strangely drawn to a stall where there were dozens of brightly coloured bottles. Each bottle had a mix of two colours. I was almost hypnotised by the vibrancy of these bottles. The more times I wandered around the room the more I was drawn back to these bottles.

The kindly woman behind the bottles explained that she used these bottles to give people a reading. Each bottle represented a different message, and the bottles I choose would give me a sense of clarity and direction. She said it would only cost £10.

My heart sank. It was the last £10 I had, my money for our dinner that night. Before I thought about it, I found myself handing over the £10 and picking up the appropriate bottles I was drawn to.

The lady said I was born on a Magenta Ray and that I was born to teach! I smiled to myself and thought ‘that’ll be the day’. I didn’t like talking to people at that time, let alone teaching them. That seemed unreal.

The lady told me some things about my past that I had never spoken about. She had got my attention. She spoke about some of the things I was going through at the moment, and then she concluded by saying some of the things she believed I would do in the future.

I have to say that everything she spoke about has come to fruition, except for a business in Venice, but watch this space. There is time yet.

I came away from that village hall with a strange feeling of being uplifted, but bemused at myself for my flippancy at giving away my last £10.

During a time of confusion several years later, I kept picking up the woman’s card and thinking I should ring her, to see if she could give me a clue on what was an important appropriate decision.

To cut a long story short my husband and I were going to have a new start, and a new home to try to work out our relationship challenges. Several weeks and unsuitable houses later he brought home a small newspaper cutting, and exclaimed I should go and look at it. ‘The good thing about it’ he said ‘there is a stable at the bottom of the garden, and he could stay there if I got on his nerves!’

Real positive stuff

Something about the address seemed strangely familiar. I’m not sure how I found it. It was off the beaten track in a remote place. But I found it.

I sat in the car with the children, and before I even moved from the car I knew this was it. This was our dream home. Stables, paddocks, the perfect setting in the middle of the countryside. I had bought it before I had stepped inside the door.

A woman came to the door and she seemed to have a familiarity about her. A feeling of déjà-vu. She started to show us around the house. She showed us into a small room at the front of the house.

There were those bottles. A feeling of anticipation and excitement came over me. She was the woman who had given me the reading several years previously. She was the woman who did the Aura Soma bottles at the village hall.

I explained that I had been intending to ring her for another reading but never got to do so. She just smiled and said we were meant to meet again.

During the coming months we became better acquainted, and finally when the house looked like it was going to another couple, I asked her to do a reading for me. She said, as she had a vested interest in the questions I was asking, she would recommend another lady to help me.

She did and I got the guidance I was hoping for. I stood my ground, and several weeks later I moved into that dream house.

Throughout all of this time, and right up until Christmas the lady kept telling me she had a friend I would get on really well with. Months of refusals later, I finally agreed to go meet this friend. It was Christmas and at least I could get a free drink!

The lady she introduced me to turned out to be a Medium too, and she had a vague feeling of warmth about her. I wasn’t sure why I was there or why it was so imperative to meet this woman. Two days later I was in utter emotional turmoil, and for some strange reason felt compelled to ring this new woman in my life.

A couple of hours later I was sitting in her lounge, and she was describing aspects of my life, and why they were causing me such distress. It felt as though she knew me better than I knew myself.

I left her house several hours later feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off me. I couldn’t really remember all the things she had said, but it had made perfect sense.

Later that week I joined what she called a Spiritual circle. I had no idea what I was going for, but I was going.

The first few sessions left me feeling confused and very tearful. Other people were seeing beautiful Angels and visions. All of my visions seemed to be gloomy and dark. I remember sobbing all the way home because I had seen an old oil can smothered and dripping with black sticky oil.

I didn’t really understand what the significance was, but I knew it upset me terribly.

The teacher explained I had a lot of emotional baggage around me which needed clearing. That made sense but I had no idea how to clear it.

Despite the tears each week, I felt compelled to go back. The people all seemed very friendly, and I started to feel a sense of belonging which I hadn’t felt before.

Several weeks later my visions started to be more pleasant, and I had a strange sense of accomplishments with the teaching I was getting. The more I went back, the easier and more pleasant it became. I would go each week, learn some more, and then practice what I had learnt at home.

My confidence began to grow, and in time I started to have a sense of purpose within this new learning.

It started to feel very comfortable and familiar. I started to realise I had probably been using this Spiritual guidance for most of my life, but hadn’t realised what I was doing.

The more I learnt the more I wanted to know. It became infectious. I couldn’t wait for the classes to come around. It seemed easier and easier to hear the messages I was getting. I wrote pages of notes on things I was hearing.

What changed?

After quite a while the group moved to a new venue with a new teacher. This group was smaller, and I found it easier to receive the guidance and to do the exercises we were given.

I was sitting in the Spiritual circle one day, and thoughts kept coming into my head. I had a sudden sense of urgency to share it with other members of the group.

I felt I needed permission from the teacher, but knew the messages had to be conveyed. I felt as though my heart was pounding so loud it would explode if I didn’t speak up.

I realised that I was starting to constantly interrupt the flow of what was being taught, with this sense of urgency to give the messages I could hear. I think I was seriously starting to aggravate the teacher, so I tried keeping quiet.

I got impatient, with not being able to speak freely, so I started to write the thoughts down on paper and hand them to the appropriate person. I realised I was hearing what the teacher was hearing.

Great realisation. I was in. ‘I COULD DO IT!’ – It had taken time, persistence and patience. It gave me a sense of feeling empowered, a sense of intent, a purpose.

Maybe I could do this teaching.

After several weeks I asked the Spiritual teacher to start a group in my own home. By now I knew some people I thought would be interested in this type of learning.

It started well. The first week several students turned up all keen to learn how to tune in to the Spiritual realm. The second week, change of perception, the teacher said she didn’t think it was the right time for this new venture.

I felt really confused by this, how come it had felt so right to me? And then, to add to my confusion, those people who I thought were keen, phoned to cancel.

One lady turned up that day. That was it, our new beginning. We agreed that we could learn from each other, and so we did.

Each week we would meet, tune into Spirit and then practice what we had done that session throughout the coming week. We both continued to grow in confidence with working with the Spiritual realm.

I shall be eternally grateful to Anne, that she too wanted to persist, and learn to work with our Spiritual friends.

We learnt a lot from each other over the coming weeks, and within a short time other people started to join our little group. We were really a group now.

The other students were looking to me for guidance. At first we kept it really simple, repeating the same exercises until our guidance became clearer and clearer.

I am so grateful that I did not back down when I was told it was not the right time for our venture. I concluded it was not the right time for the teacher to run our group, but for me to step up and learn to become the teacher.

Over the coming months our group multiplied, and more people turned up to learn. At the time I lived in the middle of the countryside down the end of a very old bumpy track, but still they came.

I think that if your Spirit guides have a vocation for you, they will give you challenges to grow through, to help strengthen your resolve to do their work. The obstacles and challenges will either make you fall backwards and stay in your discomfort zone, or they will strengthen you to grow forward.

Spirit can see your real potential, and they will only give you what they know you can achieve.

Don’t let the obstacles or challenges stop you from becoming the best you can be.

I never looked back. That was the beginning of my teaching journey with the Spiritual realm. At the very beginning I was also working with the Bach Flower Remedies. I found I was able to give guidance far beyond which I had learned on the Bach Flower Remedy Courses.

I shall be eternally grateful to Carol, my Bach Remedy Teacher, for her help and support, but I was working on a different level too. I was able to tune into the client, and help them recognise where they needed to make changes, and then recommend the right Remedies to help them feel stronger as they moved on.

I started working as a Spiritual councillor, and include the Bach Flower Remedies as well. What a perfect combination. I’m sure Dr. Bach is up there smiling and guiding the work I do.

Together we run workshops to help others understand the Bach Flower Remedies, and I am being constantly prompted to see where we can take this very special combination. Somewhere along my journey I became a Reiki Master, and learnt to work with the crystals.

It never fails to amaze me when Spirit takes me in a new direction. They are always there nurturing me along, and sending along the right people to share this very special teaching with.

Our Spiritual circles are still growing, and every day I feel truly blessed to have been chosen to share these special teachings with those who are sent to me.

We are all blessed when we are chosen to work with Spirit, and I know they are eternally grateful for the wisdom, friendships, and love we all come together to share.

I feel truly blessed that I am able to work alongside our friends in the Spiritual realm, and look forward to many more years of sharing their valuable guidance with those who come my way.

A special thank you to my mum who has recently joined my team of supporters up-stairs. I really miss you mum, but I know recently whenever I have had work to do, and things to organise, you have been right here by my side, giving me the nudges I needed. Thanks again. You always were a good mum, and good at organising! I really do appreciate your help.

Keep sending on the people and together we can all make a difference.

Ripples on the pond

One of the beautiful aspects of working with Spirit is the ripple effect it can have. For each person you teach, they only have to share this knowledge with one more person, who then shares this with another.

Imagine if this process carried on for every person we share with. Imagine the impact we could have if we teach 10 or 30 people at a time.

From small beginnings we could touch so many people, most of whom we never meet, but feel confident that these people can feel safer and more empowered with the knowledge we share.

Once you feel confident with the learning you are receiving, trust in the idea that you will know when to share this information. You will be guided.

Together we can all achieve so much more. You never know who is hoping, and wanting to find a way to change their lives.

Chapter 2

Unconditional love

The love, the support and the guidance we receive from Spirit all comes with unconditional love.

The more you work with this unconditional love, the more love you will feel. If we have not experienced this before it may take time to adjust to this new way of feeling.

Unconditional love may feel overwhelming at first. It may make you feel very emotional and even tearful.

Allow this love vibration to start to open up your heart and flow through your body.

Learn to embrace this new way of being. Unconditional love is the only true emotion. It is the only emotion which should be flowing through your precious body.

When you learn to accept and work with this beautiful feeling, it helps you to rise above all the other negative emotions you may experience.

It will take time, so please be patient with yourself as you adapt to this new way of being and living.

Unconditional love takes you to the core of who you are, and helps you reach your truest potential. It can complete and fulfil every person who experiences it.

Unconditional love is often hidden under many layers and years of conditioning. You simply and gently work towards finding this feeling within you.

Unconditional love is capable of reuniting relationships where there may have been disharmony.

Unconditional love helps to break down barriers, and can cure all parties. It can cure those who give it, and those who receive it.

Love is the cause and effect of all harmonies between every relationship we shall encounter.

When you feel unconditional love you feel or hold no judgment towards any other person.

Unconditional love sees the person, rather than their behaviour. It sees the pure loving spiritual being inside each and every person, including you.

It helps you to see beyond the negative behaviour and patterns, and see the good in every person.

When you feel unconditional love for someone, you have bypassed all the outer layers of theirs and your personality, including the negative aspects, masks and fears.

You create a direct connection with who they really are. You will find a true connection which is free from ego and any false illusions.

Unconditional love within you is the perfect energy for any connection with the Spiritual realm. It brings you into the proper mind set for working with Spirit, whether it is working on yourself, as a Medium, or as a healer.

Working with the Spiritual realm is in itself healing for you because it comes with unconditional love.

It goes right to the source, your true self.

The more you work with the Spiritual realm the more love you will feel.

It will help to transform your life, and anyone you choose to be with.

The more unconditional love you feel the more you have to share. It is a beautiful cycle which helps to lift everyone.

Love is not something you become. It is the beautiful person you already are.

Go forward and embrace this wonderful way of loving and living.

Let unconditional love flow through you, and flow out from every pore of your body.

It is the energy which will attract the right people and opportunities. It is like a bright light that shines out to anyone who seeks your help and your guidance.

You will feel the best you have felt, and you will find love and joy within every experience you encounter.

You shall find, and live the most wonderful life.

You will feel unconditional love for yourself, and learn to love yourself.

You shall find the person you were born to be.

Unconditional love is the key.

Chapter 3

Carol’s Divine Intervention

Eighteen years ago I was in a complete mess. I was emotionally, mentally and physically shattered. I felt like the days were sent to torment me, and I seemed to be in a constant struggle with myself.

The only thing that kept me going was my beautiful daughter, Gemma. But the more I struggled with myself the more I started to doubt if I was any good for her.

One day when I was at the bottom of this pit, a total stranger tapped on my shoulder and offered me a small bottle. She said this may help me and my daughter.

That genuine and simple gesture was the beginning of a new journey, but it took a further two years to reach out and ask for help.

Two years later, my life had taken another downward spiral.

Through my torment a voice in my head said ‘that woman said that bottle might help’.

‘Might help’ seemed like a chance I had to grab hold of. I found the bottle in the back of a cupboard, and her telephone number was on the label.

A small glimmer of hope started to rise in me.

Three hours later I was sitting with this lady telling how I was feeling. She listened intently, and then took me through a simple kinesiology test with a box full of bottles.

When she had finished she described exactly how I was feeling about myself. I was overwhelmed that a total stranger could tell so much about me. It was a surreal experience.

She went on to explain the benefits of the remedies, and made me a bottle to take home.

I left her house that day feeling like someone had lifted the world off my shoulders. I really could have flown home that day.

Something within me had suddenly changed.

I am sure that lady was sent from Heaven. There really are earth Angels walking here amongst us, and Carol is one of them.

That was my introduction to the Bach Flower Remedies. My life was about to change. I shall be eternally grateful to Carol for the Divine Intervention she made in my life.

The Bach Remedies have been my salvation. They helped me put my life back on track.

They helped me see things in a new positive perspective.

I found a new confidence and assertiveness. I started to see things as they really were. I started to make changes in my life that I never dreamed possible.

I could feel changes happening within me which were very subtle, but it was giving me a new me!

I have introduced the Bach Flower Remedies within this book because I know they can help you make the changes you choose to make.

The Remedies had such an impact on my life that I went on to study for a qualification to become a Bach Flower Remedy Practitioner.

You will continually be going through new cycles on your journey, and the Bach Remedies will help you work through and adapt to these changes in a very gentle and subtle way.

For me they really did make the difference, and I know they can for you too.

Where the Remedies would offer the appropriate support on your journey, I have indicated them in brackets e.g. (B.F.R. + the appropriate Remedy).

There is more information on the Bach Flower Remedies in chapter eighty one.

Chapter 4

F E A R

What can hold us back? – Fear

What is fear? - False Evidence Appearing Real

Fear is our perception of things based on our experiences we have been

What is fear? - False Evidence Appearing Real

Fear is our perception of things based on our experiences we have been through. This is, unfortunately the way most of us live our lives, and then we wonder why we keep making the same mistakes, or going through the same experiences and suffering the same dilemmas.

We all have a team of supporters in the Spiritual world. Your supporters are your guides who will oversee your journey, and be there to support and guide you through.

Your guides may be someone whom you have known on this earth, and they have now passed into the Spirit world. It could be a relative or friend, or a random Spirit who has chosen to work with you. Or your guides could be Angels or Archangels.

You may be more comfortable calling on Jesus, or the elderly lady who lived down the road, and is now in Heaven. It does not matter who you choose to work with, as long as you feel comfortable with this new relationship.

Your guides are going to choose to work with you, just as you are choosing to work with them. They will be your support system and give you the right guidance. You will build up a new bond between yourself and your guides.

Learn to build up that relationship, and trust in the guidance you are being given. This will take patience and practise.

Your guides will help you recognise where your old fears can be holding you back, and how they can be turned around.

They will help you understand that voice inside your head, and trust your inner knowing.

The opposite to fear is faith. The best way forward is to work with faith. Trust that you will be getting the right guidance from your friends in the Spiritual realm.

Have faith that you can make the changes, and you can overcome your fears.

Allow yourself to be guided and nudged down the right path. Just listen carefully to your Spiritual guides, and you will soon recognise when you are being helped by your guides, by the positive steps you take as you move forward.

Try not to see things that happen on your journey as either negative or positive. They are all important steps on your journey.

Obstacles and challenges on your journey are given to you, to test your determination, and to help you grow. With each obstacle you can fall back into the old comfort zone, or grow forward. Don’t let your old fears determine who you are.

Old fears will keep you stagnant and frustrated. This is often followed by a feeling of apathy, and what’s the point? The Bach Remedy Wild Rose will help you.

Choose to let go and move forward. Walnut is the Remedy to help you adapt to changes, and Honeysuckle helps you lay the past to rest to enable you to move on.

How the past can have an effect on your growth

There are many things which can hold you back, or have a serious impact on your journey.

One of the main challenges you can be affected by is the old patterning you have been given. Quite often you may not recognise what is affecting you.

The patterns, or programming, you have been given throughout your life can make a serious impression on you when you choose to venture forward.

Your old way of thinking and being becomes your reality today, and will keep taking you down the same paths, and making the same mistakes as you have always done.

This can have a major impact on the way you react to the new situation you are going into.

Remember, it is not always the experience which affects you, but the way you react to the experience.

If you continually find yourself acting in a negative or detrimental way, take some time out and go within.

Ask yourself if this is your old patterning which is having an effect on you and your progress.

To help you understand what happens, we have put together a simple illustration of what can affect you in the next chapter.

*Your thoughts are responsible for where you are in life.

*Our thought patterns can keep us prisoners within ourselves.

*Often with all the old patterning you lose sight of who you truly are.

*As we said earlier we want to show you a new way of living.

To become what you want to be, you must first come out of where you are and recognise you want to change.

Later we will show you how to bring yourself to a still place in your mind so you can get more clarity and peace, and help you discover your inner self. (see chapter eight on meditation)

If we can help you recognise where your thought patterns come from, you can turn your life around.

Chapter 5

Id, Ego, Superego

For much of the time we do not understand what makes us act the way we do.

Let us explain to you some of the things which can influence you, and have an impact on your personality and ultimately your life.

The patterns and beliefs you have gathered through your life can have a profound effect on the way you react to new situations in your life.

Id - Your id - the way you see yourself, is your sense of identity, your drives, the child within you.

Your id is the part of you that can be demanding on yourself, and wants to achieve more. This is your primitive instinctive impulses and ambitions which usually cause you to keep driving forward.

This is often the way you identify yourself in the here and now.

Superego - The superego is your internalised beliefs. Your habits, the way you have been brought up and socialised, the thoughts, and feelings of those who have had an influence over you (e.g. your parents, the media, your teachers).

It is often the stereotypes you have been given.

Sometimes you know where some of these patterns and beliefs have come from. But the majority have been unconsciously internalised, and you become unaware of when, or why they have become a major part of you.

This is your internal filing system. Your filing system is unique to you. You can have positive programming and negative programming in your filing system.

This is the part you dip into when you want to make changes in your life. Or to make decisions.

Ego - Your ego negotiates between your id and your superego – allowing you to take action as you move through your life.

Out of balance

If the superego is in control, the person may continually repeat the same patterns.

If there is a really strong superego, then the person may fall into habits the superego sees as correct.

They can find it difficult to make a decision, or will make recurrent bad decisions.

You can make a really good decision one day, and then talk yourself out of it the next day.

You dip into your old superego, and find the negative patterns from the past.

Then you often tend to act on these old patterns, which can be very detrimental to your new decision.

The superego can overpower your new way of thinking and acting.

Why does this happen?

The id works mainly in the conscious mind. It is the part of your mind which wants to try new things. This is your wishes and desires. The part of you which keeps striving to do more.

The ego works on the boarders of both the conscious and the unconscious mind. This is the part that keeps dipping into your old patterns, your superego, for information.

The superego works mainly in the unconscious, and you are often unaware of the influence it is having on you.

What does this mean?

Think of the conscious and the unconscious mind like an iceberg.

The conscious mind that is available to you, is above the water level, whilst the unconscious is below the water.

As you can see from the next diagram, the majority of your programming is unseen, but can have a major impact on your life when you decide to move forward.

The id is the person other people, and often yourself, believe you to be.

The majority of your being is made up of patterns which have accumulated in your superego, shown as below the surface in this diagram.

When you are working with the Spiritual realm, the superego can be tapped into, to help you recognise when it is having an effect on you.

*As you move forward, you can make a conscious decision to recognise when you are being influenced by your old superego, and make a decision to change the pattern.

*If you find yourself constantly questioning or doubting yourself, or your intent, ask yourself if this is your old pattern you are using. (B.F.R. Cerato)

*If you keep finding yourself making the same mistakes, or repeating the old patterns which are detrimental to your progress, write down the situation you are going through. (B.F.R. Chestnut Bud)

*Having an awareness of where the pattern is coming from can help you recognise it for what it is, and turn it around.

*If your self-talk says ‘I’m not good enough to do that new job I have seen advertised’ – often it will leads you to a negative result. This is usually based on old experiences you have been through.

*Write down what you are saying to yourself.

*Make a decision to change the pattern to a new positive one.

When you learn to work with your Spiritual guides, they will also help support and guide you through these changes.

Revisit, and work with this chapter again when you have learnt to work with your guides. The more frequently you work with these exercises, the easier it will be for you to recognise the changes you are working through, and the progress you are making.

Awareness – This comes from when the teacher told me I was not clever enough. When he told me I would never amount to anything. This is my old superego getting in the way.

Making changes – Once you can recognise where the pattern comes from, you can start to recognise the effect it has had on you in the past, and consciously change it. Create a new pattern for the present and future decisions you choose to make.

New pattern – New self-talk. ‘I am going to be really good at this new job. I have all the right qualities needed. I am just right for the job. I can see myself doing really well’.

An example of a change of pattern

For much of your life you may have been subservient, and allowed others to push you around, or you didn’t like to say ‘No’ to other people’s requests and demands.

At a crucial stage of your life you may recognise that this pattern does not feel right, and it no longer serves you.

When you recognise this, you may feel unhappy with the situation you see, and make a decision to change the way you have been acting.

You may see the situation as negative and detrimental to your progress.

You make a decision to resolve to change the pattern. No longer will you be subservient and give in to everybody’s wishes. You decide to say ‘No’ to the requests imposed upon you. You choose to only give when you choose to do so. (B.F.R. Centuary, Chestnut bud).

At first, you may be really strong in your resolve to follow through on you decision. Your use positive self talk to motivate yourself. This feels uplifting and motivating.

Your id starts off with an inspiration to change something in your life, and then your ego often dips into your superego, and finds the old patterns you have used in the past.

Within a short time you could be back in the old pattern from your superego.

This can happen with or without the influence of an outside party. Quite often your resolve is weakened by your own thinking. You are dipping into your old patterns and re-living them, based on your past experiences and expectations.

When you recognise this is happening, acknowledge it, and resolve to change it. Use strong positive self talk to keep you on track.
