Early prize-winning writer (prize U.N.S.L, 1974) born in Argentina, during many years standing aside from literary activity, began this century with a copious production and is recovering from past silences. He likes to read, loves dogs and a good glass of wine -in addition to his family and friends. At present, he spends his time writing and cupping specialty coffees. The author’s voice skirts the limits of poetry, brief tales, and micro essays. With humor, irony or passion, he does not intend to teach anything; just provoke at most. His colloquial register recalls a conversation among friends, deploying a unique style, with distant accents of the River Plate region. |

The Master's Hand | by Richard McCormack April 13, 2012 | Free! | 5736 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: On every gravestone in the world there are two dates. One recounts the day the person was born, the other when they died. Yet between those two dates dwells a dash that represents the entire sum of the persons life — and it is in this dash Richard D. McCormack has dedicated his life to helping people in need. Born in California and reared in the southwest, Richard has been part of many cultures. Growing up the second son of a “preacher-man,†he has seen the good and bad that ministry has to offer. After seeing the devastation of abuse to his fifteen month old daughter he has tried to help others find peace in their struggles. A graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Wort, he has been the pastor of four churches, two of which he started. Today, Richard is the pastor of First Baptist Church, Dunsmuir, California. He is also a prolific author of devotions, articles, and books to help people overcome their struggles. Richard is the author of several books including "All or Nothing," "Does This Christian Thing Work?," and "It Is Well . . .," which is about one family devotion to see God and understand His love as their life cycles through the repeating phases of tragedy and hope. Richard is also a noted classical portrait photographer and photojournalist. His work has appeared in magazines and papers around the world. |

I live quite a prim and proper life by day, but at night I like to lock the door and while away the hours writing down all my fantasies, then sharing them with you. My tales take place mainly in the L.A. of my youth, but since discovering just how much sex goes on behind the closed doors of 'genteel' English country villages, I'm hoping to bring some of those saucy stories your way, too, so stay tuned! |

Gathering Storms: The Heretic's Secret Book 1 | by John Wilson April 13, 2012 | Free! | 22474 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: When I read in schools, kids often ask: "Have you always wanted to be an author?" The simple answer is no, I was 43 when my first book (WEET) was published, but I have been an author as long as I can remember. Growing up in Scotland I compensated for a lonely childhood by making up stories in my head and all I do now is write those stories down. History is the trigger for my stories: WWI (Shot at Dawn, And in the Morning), WWII (Flames of the Tiger, Four Steps to Death), or the Wild West (Written in Blood). I firmly believe that the decisions a Roman Legionary (Germania), or a Medieval Crusader (The Heretic's Secret Trilogy), had to make were just as confusing and frightening as any of the decisions we have to make today. That's what I try to bring out in my thirty plus fiction and non-fiction books for kids, teens and adults. |

Musings while in traffic | by Ernest Winchester July 15, 2011 | Free! | 230 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over. |

The Seduction | by Roh Morgon Dec. 23, 2011 | Free! | 4651 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Roh Morgon discovered the magic in stories at an early age, both in books and the ones she made up in her head. As a child growing up in a remote Southern California canyon, she explored the wild hills barefoot with her brothers and rode her horse bareback at top speed. A wicked youth spent hitchhiking across the West and perched on the backs of Harleys eventually gave way to soccer mom duties and full-time college studies — at the same time. In her spare moments, she learned how to herd cattle, swordfight, and plant an arrow or a knife in a target — not necessarily at the same time. Her years spent in the lofty mountains of Colorado and the stark plains of Wyoming, the red canyons of central Arizona and the rolling hills of California, provide some of the diverse stages upon which her characters re-enact their lives. Roh currently shares her home in the Sierra Nevada foothills with three mustang horses, two crazy herding dogs, and a very patient husband who reminds her of the need to eat and sleep. She writes fantasy and horror for middle grade, young adult, and adult readers. |

| Author bio: I am still new to writing erotica, so I beg patience from anyone reading it. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome. At this time I don't have a lot to offer, just a few short stories of varying length and quality. I am experimenting with my writing to see what does the best, so please leave a rating on my stories, good or bad. Even a one star rating is more helpful to me than none at all. I have a particular style of writing which will not be to everyone's preference. I tend to write my stories with a gentler language without going too crazy with the euphemisms. I also try to make sure my characters are relatable and realistic (within reason) and that there is a decent plot. If you are looking for PWP with harsh language, I am afraid I am not your author. |

Some things that are not included in that show that did happen to be included in my real life are: My dad's a funeral director (I know spooky right!) so I grew up listening to jokes like "When I die, I'd like to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did. Not screaming like the passengers in his car! Budumpcha -- That was my spelling of a drum role. I am a middle child and a self-proclaimed keeper of the piece. I married young, and am living happily ever after with my guy and our pet cat. At any rate, I hope you enjoy these stories! |

The advantage is that she can do it in her pajamas and socks. She’s an incurable chatterbox, heavy metal aficionado, book worm, digital enthusiast and a night owl since most of her stories were done in the wee hours of the morning because of her caffeine-induced insomnia. These days she still plays her guitar whenever she gets bored staring at her computer’s screen or plotting the most elaborate scheme of world domination. The Eyes that See - A Prelude to the Balancer Chronicles | by Chris Adonn March 28, 2011 | Free! | 17617 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I want to write. I want to lose myself in compelling narratives and adventures as they unfold in my mind and spill onto pages which will invariably result in a book by the time I am done. Writing started for me as a way to pass the time whenever I ran out of reading material or wanted to get rid of excess creative energy (I was an artist specializing in the painting medium (still am). Before I knew it, I was in love with the new freedom I could find only by putting pen to paper (or rather, fingers to a key-board). I wanted to delineate the characters I had dreamed into existence on a two dimensional surface with 3D fluidity. I have no idea if I have succeeded in this initial feat, but now I mainly long to see where they will take me to next. Of course I want much more than that as writing the story is only the first step for me. I want to present my books to the world in a fashion that captures the market for which they were intended. I want intrepid readers to meet the characters I have fallen in love with and perhaps, fall in love with them too. Dear reader, please let me know your impressions and thoughts by entering a rating and your opinion after reading my work. Thanking you in advance, Chris Adonn P.S. Follow me on facebook and twitter so that you can be the first to know when I'm giving away free coupons and other promotions on my books. |

Tourist Traps | by Kurt Ulmer March 27, 2011 | Free! | 1950 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I have one grandfather who was a builder. My other grandfather was a stonemason and my father was a traditional blacksmith. Both my grandmothers had cooked for a living, one in a hotel and the other for well-to-do people. A career in construction or perhaps engineering or catering would have been obvious choices. Instead, I spent 20 years in business and in mid life retrained myself. I chose to work with my hands as my father and grandparents had. I become a renowned woodcraftsman and founded with my wife an art and craft gallery in a Tasmanian tourist town. After 20 years there, we followed our children to mainland Australia to retire on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula. I took up writing seriously in 2003. Working with their hands, creating and shaping materials has occupied my forebear. From stone, to iron, to wood. Now I spend my time putting pen to paper. The medium is getting softer. |
