The simple answer is no, I was 43 when my first book (WEET) was published, but I have been an author as long as I can remember. I firmly believe that the decisions a Roman Legionary (Germania), or a Medieval Crusader (The Heretic's Secret Trilogy), had to make were just as confusing and frightening as any of the decisions we have to make today. I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over.

Some things that are not included in that show that did happen to be included in my real life are: My dad's a funeral director (I know spooky right!) so I grew up listening to jokes like "When I die, I'd like to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did. Not screaming like the passengers in his car! Budumpcha -- That was my spelling of a drum role. I am a middle child and a self-proclaimed keeper of the piece. I want to write. I want to lose myself in compelling narratives and adventures as they unfold in my mind and spill onto pages which will invariably result in a book by the time I am done. Writing started for me as a way to pass the time whenever I ran out of reading material or wanted to get rid of excess creative energy (I was an artist specializing in the painting medium (still am). Before I knew it, I was in love with the new freedom I could find only by putting pen to paper (or rather, fingers to a key-board). I wanted to delineate the characters I had dreamed into existence on a two dimensional surface with 3D fluidity. I have no idea if I have succeeded in this initial feat, but now I mainly long to see where they will take me to next. Of course I want much more than that as writing the story is only the first step for me. I want to present my books to the world in a fashion that captures the market for which they were intended. I want intrepid readers to meet the characters I have fallen in love with and perhaps, fall in love with them too. In addition to writing, Frank is an avid hockey player and a tortured guitarist. His wife, Kristi, is about the only person who will watch him do either activity.

I have one grandfather who was a builder. My other grandfather was a stonemason and my father was a traditional blacksmith. Both my grandmothers had cooked for a living, one in a hotel and the other for well-to-do people. A career in construction or perhaps engineering or catering would have been obvious choices. Instead, I spent 20 years in business and in mid life retrained myself. I chose to work with my hands as my father and grandparents had. I become a renowned woodcraftsman and founded with my wife an art and craft gallery in a Tasmanian tourist town. After 20 years there, we followed our children to mainland Australia to retire on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula. I took up writing seriously in 2003. Working with their hands, creating and shaping materials has occupied my forebear. From stone, to iron, to wood. Now I spend my time putting pen to paper. The medium is getting softer.

He enjoyed a career in laboratory medicine for 42 years during which time he took a three year break to play music professionally when he wrote and produced his album 'Raindance' in 1978. In 1980 he visited India where he met His Holiness Dalai Lama and was requested to establish a diagnostic laboratory that still flourishes at the Tibetan Delek Hospital in Dhamarmsala to this day. He retired from private practice in 2006 to live in Dharamsala where he writes, plays guitar and studies Buddhism. he describes himself as a trainee Buddhist. He has written three novels, Trekking the Path, Knights of Dreamland and Holy Trinity.
