When asked why I write, I usually stutter out a made up answer that I can't remember three seconds later. I can't remember the very first time I decided I wanted to write, it's just something I kind of always did. I wrote really bad poems as a kid, then horrible short stories as a teenager and then passable plays in college. About the Author: Born in 1947, just after world war II, in a suburb just outside of Saint Louis Missouri Called Saint Ann, Dan became the third child of the Fenton clan. His siblings looked nothing like him and probably for good reason. In an era just coming out of the great depression jobs were becoming more plentiful and yet his family was struggling to get by none the less. A sixth grade education didn't lend itself to making a good living and driving a cable car for the city just didn't pay his father that much. It wasn't long before running from the law took the family to the west, were Dan was to grow up. Graduating from Rio Grande High School in 1967, Dan attended classes at Technical Vocational Institute, University of New Mexico, Santa Anna College and The University of Phoenix. He would never obtain his degree. After extensive training in the computer industry by Wang laboratories, Redactron Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation, Dan ended up retiring from Hewlett Packard while servicing computer systems in England and Germany. Drac Von Stoller's imagination and fascination for the Horror genre began when he was a little boy watching his favorite actors such as Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi on his little black and white television alone in his dark room. Drac would watch these horror movies for hours and build model kits of his favorite characters like Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein and even the Munster's car from his favorite television series. Then as time went on and nothing was left to the imagination in the new horror movies, Drac still loved watching the old movies he so loved as a little boy. Then as Drac became an adult he decided one day that he would write a short story in the horror genre and let some of his friends read it and see what they thought. Drac's first short story was titled "Death in the Wilderness," which would be considered flash fiction but this would be Drac's test to see if he was destined to be an author. Sure enough when people read "Death in the Wilderness" they loved it but couldn't understand why Drac didn't keep on with the story but Drac knew all along that if what they read was so good then Drac has succeeded. This gave Drac the confidence he needed to keep on writing more and more short stories. The rest is history Drac has now written 31 short stories in the course of a 2 year span. Drac doesn't want to write a story unless it moves him in a way that he would want to read his own work and say any horror or ghost fan would not be disappointed.

However, I don’t want my multiple warnings to deter those who want a fresh view of life, that’s why I’ll say to go for the title that interest you the most; if you want to read about how a person can be revolted against the world, then read “Revolted” if you want a different view of the mind then read “The seat of my mind” if you want a different view of god and the universe, read “Oh my god” if you want a description of another reality, read “A new reality” and so on. Life is essentially what you make of it and I have found writing fiction is not only challenging, it can be a lot of fun (and a lot of work!) I write in an adult vein and I am neither worried about sacred cows nor do I shy away from the dark side of homo sapiens. I have worn a lot of hats over the years and I like to think each new experience has something to teach as you grow and flourish from the input. I currently live in SW Florida with a wife and two amusing cats.
