She Floats by Libby Heily May 24, 2012 Free! 1637 words Read a sample
Author bio:
When asked why I write, I usually stutter out a made up answer that I can't remember three seconds later. I can't remember the very first time I decided I wanted to write, it's just something I kind of always did. I wrote really bad poems as a kid, then horrible short stories as a teenager and then passable plays in college. I'm an adult now (and nothing you can say can make me change my mind about that) and hopefully my writing has progressed with my age. When I'm not spending my time with made up people in made up places doing made up things - some would call it lying- I'm generally reading, running, watching sports, drinking good beers and eating too much food with the hubby. I'd love to tell you I'm a mountain climber or an astronomer or something cool like that, but I'm not that cool. In truth, some would say I'm nerdy. But the Dr. Who poster above my computer would beg to differ.

Weathering the Storm #one by Dan Fenton May 24, 2012 $1.99 5725 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
About the Author: Born in 1947, just after world war II, in a suburb just outside of Saint Louis Missouri Called Saint Ann, Dan became the third child of the Fenton clan. His siblings looked nothing like him and probably for good reason. In an era just coming out of the great depression jobs were becoming more plentiful and yet his family was struggling to get by none the less. A sixth grade education didn't lend itself to making a good living and driving a cable car for the city just didn't pay his father that much. It wasn't long before running from the law took the family to the west, were Dan was to grow up. Graduating from Rio Grande High School in 1967, Dan attended classes at Technical Vocational Institute, University of New Mexico, Santa Anna College and The University of Phoenix. He would never obtain his degree. After extensive training in the computer industry by Wang laboratories, Redactron Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation, Dan ended up retiring from Hewlett Packard while servicing computer systems in England and Germany. He loves traveling and thus far his travels include England, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Germany, Switzerland, France, The Netherlands, Canada and Austria. Cruising is his favorite method of travel and next to cruising Alaska's inside passage, the transatlantic trips are his favorite. He began writing his book in 1985 only to put it aside after a brief beginning. In August 1989, his best friend encouraged Dan to finish writing his book, and the very next day his best friend was murdered. It wasn't until 2005 that Dan decided to revive and revise his manuscript in an attempt to honor his friends request and to find closure to his death. A story emerged that tells of the horrifying way that Dan was raised; the raising of a young man teaching him that it's OK to murder and how to get away with it. Then he is shown by his father how its done.
Charlie Chaplin's Uncle by Ian Okell May 24, 2012 $5.99 91987 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
Ian was for many years a ship’s chandler, part of the fourth generation in his family business, supplying merchant vessels around the United Kingdom and north west Europe. Deciding that too much of his time was spent in travelling, and looking for a job which allowed more time for a home life, he set up a local business of his own; a registered firearms dealership. However, although still fun, the gun shop has turned into a much busier operation than originally envisaged, and is now run by son Mike, with Ian relegated to the role of general dogsbody. He is also a commercially qualified pilot on medium sized twin engined aircraft. Ian and his wife Margaret, another pilot, live in Cheshire, they have three grown up children and, so far, two grandchildren. For many years writing has been his hobby, resulting in about one book a year, although never with any thought of being published. It was only after taking part in a British Arts Council literary criticism website that his books found their way into print.

I've been stricken with Wanderlust, and I'm obsessed with travel! I'm originally from Hudson Valley, NY. I currently reside in a suburb of Dallas.

Born A Serial Killer by Drac Von Stoller May 24, 2012 $0.99 5590 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Drac Von Stoller's imagination and fascination for the Horror genre began when he was a little boy watching his favorite actors such as Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi on his little black and white television alone in his dark room. Drac would watch these horror movies for hours and build model kits of his favorite characters like Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein and even the Munster's car from his favorite television series. Then as time went on and nothing was left to the imagination in the new horror movies, Drac still loved watching the old movies he so loved as a little boy. Then as Drac became an adult he decided one day that he would write a short story in the horror genre and let some of his friends read it and see what they thought. Drac's first short story was titled "Death in the Wilderness," which would be considered flash fiction but this would be Drac's test to see if he was destined to be an author. Sure enough when people read "Death in the Wilderness" they loved it but couldn't understand why Drac didn't keep on with the story but Drac knew all along that if what they read was so good then Drac has succeeded. This gave Drac the confidence he needed to keep on writing more and more short stories. The rest is history Drac has now written 31 short stories in the course of a 2 year span. Drac doesn't want to write a story unless it moves him in a way that he would want to read his own work and say any horror or ghost fan would not be disappointed.

Life infinite by Jean-Nichol Dufour May 24, 2012 Free! 71705 words Read a sample
Author bio:
A fresh new author, straight from the intellectually acclaimed X generation, there to answer all your questions. From the beginning of life to the end of the universe, nothing escapes his vision, but only the best can follow his steps, so prepare your view of life for the test. You can abandon, you can reject, you can fight, you can forget but you already passed the finish line of innocence so it is too late to play impudence. Now is the time to separate lies from truth, evil from good, strength from weakness. My presence here as an author has nothing to do with personal gain, I’m here to reveal this reality and give you the option to live or die. Whatever it is today or tomorrow, your world will never be the same after me (humility don’t pay in this reality). As for my life, I sometimes think I’m a monk, but you will probably find me a better name after reading some of my writings. I’m a Quebecker living in Quebec City, French, so my English surely won’t be academically perfect. Not much running around the planet and no expertise, I think I was born revolted as I passed my whole life from 10 years old (the farthest I can remember) revolted and thinking about changing the world. Apart from a moment in the army and at school, as soon as I became adult, I started making actual projects for a different reality. Writing is the only way I found to express my mind, and today, at 37, and I’m proud of my work. I hope you’ll appreciate it, because I believe it is the only possibility for humanity to ascend at the next step of its evolution, more than that, I believe my conclusions are the only way for humanity to still have potential in 100 years, whatever scientists say, and again; sorry for my lack of humility. One facet of the suite of books I wrote is to make the demonstration that the present reality will fail for many logical and spiritual reasons. That’s why, in the first chapter of the first book, I’ll try to get rid of those readers I can guess will automatically go for personal attacks as soon as I’ll describe what I don’t like of the present reality. However, I don’t want my multiple warnings to deter those who want a fresh view of life, that’s why I’ll say to go for the title that interest you the most; if you want to read about how a person can be revolted against the world, then read “Revolted” if you want a different view of the mind then read “The seat of my mind” if you want a different view of god and the universe, read “Oh my god” if you want a description of another reality, read “A new reality” and so on. Finally, don’t judge from my cover art, I never used a drawing program before, and if you want to communicate with me, do it at the following address. Zipyzaty@hotmail.com

Defensive Zone (The Dartmouth Cobras #2) by Bianca Sommerland May 24, 2012 $3.99 148985 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Tell you about me? Hmm, well there's not much to say. I love hockey and cars and my kids…not in that order of course! Lol! When I'm not writing—which isn't often—I'm usually watching a game or a car show while working on promo. Going out with my kids is my only down time. I get to clear my head and forget everything. As for when and why I first started writing, I guess I thought I'd get extra cookies if I was quiet for awhile—that's how young I was. I used to bring my grandmother barely legible pages filled with tales of evil unicorns. She told me then that I would be a famous author. I hope one day to prove her right. My work tends to lean towards the dark side. My most popular book, Deadly Captive, tends to trigger extreme reactions in people and I often advise that if you're going to read my work, start with one of my other books and ease your way up to that…if you think you can deal with the subject matter. Most reviews for the book mention (quote from Dark Diva Reviews-Read full review here: http://www.darkdivasreviews.com/?p=5508 ) `I just have to start by saying that this book is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended.' And (quote from Kinky Book Reviews-Read full review here: http://kinkybookreviews.com/review-deadly-captive-by-bianca-sommerland/ ) `If you are not prepared for this book, do NOT read it.' Seriously, read the excerpts and consider the warnings. I also write a lot of ménage. My first published book, Rosemary Entwined, features Rosemary and her nest of 7 men. I wanted to prove that a story involving that many men focused on one woman could be something more than a gangbang. It's my sweetest and most romantic story to date. I've actually written a Christmas story about their first Christmas together which will be available for free within the next few days if you'd like a nice intro. To find out more about me, either swing by my website: www.im-no-angel.com or simply ask here! I'll try to answer all the questions I can while I'm here, but you can always email me: biancasommerland (at) gmail (dot) com

Life is essentially what you make of it and I have found writing fiction is not only challenging, it can be a lot of fun (and a lot of work!) I write in an adult vein and I am neither worried about sacred cows nor do I shy away from the dark side of homo sapiens. I have worn a lot of hats over the years and I like to think each new experience has something to teach as you grow and flourish from the input. I currently live in SW Florida with a wife and two amusing cats.
