Time Travels have been a passion of mine. I have always been intrigued with the possibility of being able to reach back in time and change the past. Common sense says influencing the past isn’t impossible, but I can’t help but wonder: What if I can? Vampires and shape shifters embrace my darker side where their worlds intertwine with ours. In my spare time, I review for Paranormal Reviews, a great place to find paranormal books and other genres. I love to travel and have enjoyed the rolling green hills of Ireland;n the Italian renaissance of Florence, Italy; the wild west of Tombstone, Arizona; the historical essence of Salem and Boston, Massachusetts as well as the intrigue of St Augustine, Florida. Thank you for stopping by.

Bulow Gold by Bill Ryan Bulow Gold by Bill Ryan April 30, 2012 $4.99 109283 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
The author: William (Bill) Ryan lives in historic Flagler County Florida on the Atlantic Coast of Florida about 20 miles south of St. Augustine, America’s oldest city. He is a director of the Flagler County Historic Society and spent some 20 years tracing the almost vanished “Old Kings Road” built by the Colonial British as one of the prime entryways into Florida. This old highway existed right up to 1914. He had an lengthy career in the high technology imaging and photographic industry. He resolved to film and record as much as possible of this old British highway which was constructed prior to the American Revolution. Many stories came about concerning events in the early history of Florida. One such is “I am Grey Eyes” concerning an unique Seminole Indian who was reported to have set much of the trail of the British Highway by driving a herd of 500 cattle to the new settlement of New Smyrna to the south. A new book is in completion “Bulow Gold” concerning an immense treasure collected during the Seminole War of 1835 and possibly still buried in Florida. Bill Ryan combines intensive historical research with a linked together story to bring history alive. His account of Osceola, the great Seminole leader, was called to be “very accurate” by Seminole historians. “The early history of Florida is very exciting and extends far beyond what is known about St. Augustine. I hope my books will make the many stories of early Florida combine with the real characters and events as I found them.” Bill Ryan Bill Ryan. Osceola His Capture and Seminole Legends (Kindle Locations 3602-3616). Bill Ryan. Other books: "The Search for Old Kings Road" "I am Grey Eyes" "Bulow Gold" soon to appear on Smashwords.

The Nowhere Legion - Book Four by Francis Hagan The Nowhere Legion - Book Four by Francis Hagan April 25, 2012 $1.99 27013 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
I have been writing on and off since I was a shy lad hiding under the bed and scribbling in an out of date diary (I think it was about my space travels). Most of my works have been either plays populated with grotesques who stumble around ruins and those odd places we forget about or epic tales of those last Roman legionaries as they falter and fall at the end of Empire. Over the last three years, I have embarked on a series of plays which I have entitled 'The Ostraka Plays' and in which I am exploring that space where the irrational and the seductive collide. I remain fascinated by a poetics which allows an imagination to populate a forgotten nook in history outside our conventions and expectations. In these plays, the audience is invited into worlds which remain provisional and insecure - and where freedom is that release from convention. The other side of my writings could not be more opposite - in these stories, the dying light of Rome flutters one last desperate time as I seek to follow the last of the Eagles down into their fates. Here, archaeological record, literary fragments, and my own invention intertwine to set a stage ripe for heroics and betrayal.

I went and recklessly got a relatively useless degree in English Literature (California State University Northridge, 1976) and then enlisted in the US Air Force. I trained and served as a radio and television broadcast specialist, in places as various as Greece, Spain, Japan, Korea, Greenland and Ogden, Utah. This involved an assortment of interesting duties, which included midnight alt-rock DJ, TV news anchor, video-production librarian, radio and television writer and producer, production manager, and tour guide. In 1985, I drove a bright orange Volvo sedan from Athens to Zaragoza, Spain, accompanied only by a small and cranky child. I retired from the Air Force in 1997. In late 2002, I became a regular contributor to the military-oriented weblog, got hooked on writing historical fiction, bringing out "To Truckee's Trail" in 2006; that's the story of the first ever wagon-train party to bring wagons over the Sierra Nevada, which marked the opening of the California Trail. Besides historical novels, I review books and movies for Blogger News Network, am also on the board of the Independent Authors Guild, a non-profit association of writers published by small and regional publishers ... and I manage their website, also. I currently live in San Antonio with my daughter and an assortment of dogs and cats, and travel within Texas doing lectures and talks about my follow-up novel series, the Adelsverein Trilogy.

I grew up in a distant, hilly suburb of Los Angeles. I am the oldest in a family of four children: my fathr was a research biologist and my mother is an artist in stained glass. On my mother's side of the family, I come from a line of storytellers. My grandmother's stories ranged from my grandfather's arrest for draft resistance in England during World War I, the uncertainty of life during the Troubles in Ireland, to the day she decided to leave her marriage (but didn't). My mother's stories described a rural childhood that to a child of a suburb of little boxes seemed idyllic. Both of them encouraged me to read and provided me with books to feed a growing habit. When I was seven or eight, I discovered mythology, and the gods and goddesses in those tales were as real to me as the dragons and cats in my own stories are now. Thanks to my early training in fantasy, I like to hang out with dragons. Accepting the bizarre directions my imagination takes has allowed me to conjure up Zen cats, cougars, gossip-vending hawks, and other critters. Currently I live in upstate New York on a wooded piece of land not unlike some of the terrain in Big Dragons Don't Cry. Since 2000 I've belonged to the online writers' group, Artistic License, subtitled Shameless Blameless Hussies. They've read all my books, but don't blame them if you find errors, because they're shameless. I also paint, and the art on my book cover is one of my watercolors.
