The Haunted Bridge by Drac Von Stoller The Haunted Bridge by Drac Von Stoller May 07, 2012 Free! 527 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Drac Von Stoller's imagination and fascination for the Horror genre began when he was a little boy watching his favorite actors such as Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi on his little black and white television alone in his dark room. Drac would watch these horror movies for hours and build model kits of his favorite characters like Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein and even the Munster's car from his favorite television series. Then as time went on and nothing was left to the imagination in the new horror movies, Drac still loved watching the old movies he so loved as a little boy. Then as Drac became an adult he decided one day that he would write a short story in the horror genre and let some of his friends read it and see what they thought. Drac's first short story was titled "Death in the Wilderness," which would be considered flash fiction but this would be Drac's test to see if he was destined to be an author. Sure enough when people read "Death in the Wilderness" they loved it but couldn't understand why Drac didn't keep on with the story but Drac knew all along that if what they read was so good then Drac has succeeded. This gave Drac the confidence he needed to keep on writing more and more short stories. The rest is history Drac has now written 31 short stories in the course of a 2 year span. Drac doesn't want to write a story unless it moves him in a way that he would want to read his own work and say any horror or ghost fan would not be disappointed.

Revived: Past Earthly Thought by G Johanson Revived: Past Earthly Thought by G Johanson May 07, 2012 You set the price! 5282 words Sample 30%
Author bio:
I write fiction in the paranormal genre, with all of my stories linked in some way. Immortal witches, spiritualist mediums and street magicians populate my books, along with many other supernatural characters and creatures and even some ‘normal’ people too. Accursed was my first major project that made me think seriously about writing. Originally designed as a prequel to another book I had written to showcase a supporting character, Accursed, developed a life of its own and expanded beyond the novella I had planned to become a trilogy. World War II has always fascinated me dating back to my days studying history at GCSE and A-level and the idea was to place my central character during this tumultuous time and then make his life get even more complicated. By the end of the book the inexperienced GI and medium has had to grow up fast during very difficult circumstances. As a writer I like to form a basic structure for the plot and adapt the details as I write, though I often find that the characters ultimately determine the direction of the book, taking it away from my original ideas as their personalities take shape. At times I could very much relate to the lead character upon his journey 'down the rabbit hole' into a new and bizarre world of witchery and mysticism as some of the twists and turns surprised me too. The original ending for Accursed would not have lent itself to a sequel so I'm pleased I adapted. Lastly, how to categorise my work? I like to consider my material wholly unique, which I don't think anyone would disagree with. The terms paranormal saga or paranormal romance fit as genres, though I think the term I'm most comfortable with would be paranormal pulp. As a connoisseur of the great pulp books of the past I embrace the term because with pulp you know you're going to get a good story told simply and effectively and that's what I hope I've delivered.

A confessed bibliophile, I've been reading all of my life. I read my first adult book, Anne McCaffrey's Dragon Flight, during my second grade year after exhausting all the children's reading material in the house. It was this book that prompted me to think about what went into a crafted story and how that story was told. That interest spilled over into the books that followed, fiction, non-fiction, and references on myth and folklore. Finally, that interest had me progressing from just reading stories to actually writing them. Once I realized just how much fun it was to play god in fictional worlds, there was no turning back. I've been writing ever since.

People have been killed saving Grace’s life. They must have believed, on some level, that her life was worth dying for. These same people went to a church that worshiped Satan. They watched human sacrifices. They participated in ritual rape. And some of them sacrificed their own life to save Grace. They had been told, on a monthly basis, that she could bring their church down. That she could change the world as they knew it. That she would spoil their fun. They were told a sword would come out of Grace’s mouth and she would strike them down. They were trained to hate Grace and told she needed to be sacrificed to Satan. But time and again someone would come out of the congregation to stop the sacrifice and be killed himself. A thousand people who worship Satan helped to kill Grace. Those same people are her witnesses. They heard the doctors pronounce her dead. With God’s protection, those same people will prove her right. If it’s true that she was ritualistically sacrificed more than once; it must also be true that God has kept Grace alive to tell this story. These words in Babble On are Grace’s sword! With them she can change the outcome of Armageddon by exposing evil.
