Fars Fødselsveer | by Per Holbo April 25, 2012 | $0.99 | 1779 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: When I was a kid, about 8 yrs. old or so, I would lend at least 25 books at the school library for my summer break. At first my teachers shook their heads in disbelief and they were probably thinking to themselves: he is never going to finish all of those books. But coming back after the summer break, I was always able to give them a detailed review of every single book. Some of those books were trilogies such as Isaac Asimovs "Foundation-" series and "Ringworld." I simply love books and though I like watching a movie just as much as everyone else, reading a book really is something else. By reading a book you construct pictures in your own mind instead of being served by a director. But what I love the most about books is the possibility of finding several layers in the book. Things that you cannot find in a movie can be put into a book, because words can be used in such a way that other kinds of meaning appear or disappear. I write about almost everything and anything, but always with my own speciality of "wry and dry" humor, that is, the kind of humor that attacks a subject head on, but still leaves the reader to think about it. I really hope you will enjoy my books... Wishing you a good reading experience, Per Holbo |

Percy the Parrot 2 - the bird's perspective | by Peter Cain April 25, 2012 | $2.99 | 11676 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Captain Peter Cain (born 1954) spent all his childhood years living in a small village called Buxworth which is situated in the hills of the Peak District in North Derbyshire. At the age of 20, he broke away from village life to become a Redcoat Entertainer at the Butlins Holiday Centre in Ayr, Scotland. From there he advanced from being a bingo caller and then manager to sales executive for a cleaning firm before finally owning his own business which he eventually sold. He aimed for a complete 'life change' and went through the process of becoming a professional boat skipper. He sailed around to Portugal and settled in the beautiful tourist locality of Lagos, which is situated in the west of the Algarve. He has worked in the region as a skipper on various tourist boats during the summer seasons since 2000. When he was in his early 30’s, having always shown an interest in writing, he was a whisker away from having some of his work accepted for TV. Until recently his work commitments prevented him from further pursuing his love of writing and poetry, but now has time to return to his favourite pastime. His first book, which has been published through Kindle is called 'Percy the Parrot - and Other Pet Subjects', which is based on the African Grey parrot Peter once owned and also in the book are some of his many other humorous encounters with various creatures ranging from mice to elephants. To add to this, his new book 'A Sign of the Rhymes' which was released on March 1st 2012 contains humorous rhymes, 'Puzzling Poems' and a concept he has named 'Re-versing Rhyme', an interesting take on poetry. Peter has just finished writing a follow up to his first book which is entitled 'Percy the Parrot 2, the bird's perspective''. A light hearted fictional account of events as experienced by 'Percy'. The book is also now available through Kindle publishing. Peter is presently in the process of writing more poetry and rhymes with an illustrated children's 'A-Z of Animal Poems'. |

The Ex Who Wouldn't Die | by Sally Berneathy April 24, 2012 | $2.99 | 85153 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Welcome to my world! Come in, pull up a chair, grab a glass of iced tea and let's chat. I grew up in a small rural town in Oklahoma where our favorite entertainment on summer evenings was to sit outside under the stars and tell stories. When I went to bed at night, instead of a lullaby, I got a story. That could be due to the fact that everybody in my family has a singing voice like a bullfrog with laryngitis, but they sure could tell stories—ghost stories, funny stories, happy stories, scary stories. For as long as I can remember I've been a storyteller. Thank goodness for computers so I can write down my stories. It's hard to make listeners sit still for the length of a book! Like my family, my stories are funny, scary, dramatic, romantic, paranormal, magic. Besides writing, my interests are reading, eating chocolate and riding my Harley. Currently I have two e-pubbed cozy mysteries, Death by Chocolate and 'Til Death. I am currently working a sequel to Death by Chocolate and hope to have that available in a couple of months. I have sold fifteen romance novels ranging from comedy to dark suspense under the names Sally Carleen, Sally Steward and Sara Garrett. For these novels, I won several awards including National Readers' Choice, Romantic Times Best Silhouette Romance and two Rita finalist slots. Most of the Silhouettes are available as e-books, and I have e-pubbed three of the out-of-print single titles. Contact information is available on my website. I love to talk to readers! Okay, I just plain love to talk! http://www.sallyberneathy.com |

Where Are The Bright Sparks? | by Marcus Foot April 24, 2012 | Free! | 799 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I'm male, in my mid-to-late forties, married, no kids, semi-retired .... oh & I live in the Caribbean. Throughout most of my working life, after completing an Engineering Degree at University, I've been self-employed, primarily in sales-related occupations. I've been called a nerd, a geek, a charmer, an intellectual, a cunning linguist (I speak two languages fairly fluently and a third badly), a nice guy, a bastard, empathic, self-centred, generous, naive, cynical ... and honeybunch. Like many people I have harboured a desire to write my “one great novel†before I die. Recently I have had some success blogging on the internet, and this has encouraged me to push my writing further, step by step. I am starting with a very short “flash fiction†story which is a re-write of some earlier musings, followed by a short story which will introduce the main protagonists in a series of novels I hope to complete. I sincerely hope you enjoy my writing and will follow me on my journey. |

Star Sign Stories: Entertaining Tales Of Astrological Proportions: Volume Two Taurus | by Lyvea Rose April 21, 2012 | $4.99 | 21667 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Lyvea Rose is an Oz astrologer. Her columns appear each month in the prestigious magazine “Holistic Blissâ€, based in Queensland, and she is the chief astrologer for “Your Stars†magazine, published by the Psychic Club of Australia. Her articles also appear at www.satya.centre.com, based in the USA. Earlier in life, she wrote scripts and comedies for the stage. This is Lyvea’s first book. It’s a cross between a DIY manual entitled: “How to Love Your Star Sign: I Mean, What Have You Got To Lose? You Can’t Change It Now,†and a series of supernatural adventure stories bursting with big astrological insights expressed in the shortest and sweetest sentences possible. (Apart from the long ones, like that one.) Lyvea often finds herself embroiled in multiple and complex thought processes, like: “Hmmm...Is it possible to edit this blurb and harvest this wheatgrass at the same time? And why is my life purpose in the toaster specifically?â€And yet she managed to write this book with just two simple goals in mind: (1) to light up all your laughter chakras; and (2) to provide you with something to give to anyone around you who finds it difficult to groove along with your celestial vibe, even though they love you to bits. |

Although I've been writing for years, I recently made the decision to focus more energy on publishing. Along the way, I decided to create the pen name "Suzie O'Neill" in order to provide myself with more creative freedom. I found that while I was writing under my real name I was often intimidated by what people would think of the stories I write. Using a pen name is incredibly freeing. "Crossroads: A Novel About Choice" is my first e-book. It was written for fun and is by far the goofiest story that I have ever written. |

Commercialized Adultery | by Per Holbo April 20, 2012 | $0.99 | 2208 words | Sample 20% |

Retail Wedding | by Mari Collier April 19, 2012 | Free! | 2329 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: My name is Marilyn Collier, but the penname is Mari Collier. I was born in Lincoln Township, Audubon, Iowa. Yes, people still refer to the townships there. I started writing for the Audubon Advocate (Audubon, Iowa) when I was thirteen. The pay wasn't much for the work involved, but I loved it. My writing continued off and on for years. Children prompted me to invent a bedtime story as my father had done. One was sold to a children's magazine. Then I went to work and writing took a back burner until we moved from Arizona to Western Washington. I found the greatest employer imaginable in Washington. Nintendo of America paid me to talk, read, write, and play games. It was intense at times, but truly enjoyable. My husband and I returned to the desert where I became involved with the greatest little museum in the world. How many museums would have a Weed Show? I write two columns for their Old Schoolhouse Journal. To ease the solitude of writing, I joined the Desert Writers Guild of Twentynine Palms. Each year we publish an anthology of over 100 pages. Our latest one is entitled Desert Ghosts & Humor Too. It's perfect for those dark stormy nights and a cozy fire. |
