Russell is a British writer, ex-Chairman of the Crime Writers Association, and author of twelve novels, crime and historical, the latest of which, The Maud Allan Affair, culminated in the shocking Old Bailey trial of 1919. From The Storm by Adrian Walker From The Storm by Adrian Walker May 07, 2012 $2.99 124650 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
I was born in the bush suburbs of Sydney, Australia in the mid ’70s. Dad was a struggling writer, a Scot who had escaped the drizzle of Glasgow for inspiration down under. Mum was a passionate actress from Lancashire who taught drama to local kids when she wasn’t looking after me and my sister. My parents always described our young family life as poor and blissful, but the call of home was too strong for them. Dad renovated a camper van he found in a ditch, drove us across the Nullabor and moved us back to the UK, where I was raised. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been interested in three things: words, music and technology. When I graduated from the University of Leeds, I found a career in software. A few years back I took a 6 month break in contracts to focus on what I really wanted to do. I spent every day writing and when it was time to return to work I had the first draft of a novel. Three jobs, one wedding, two children and endless rewrites later, I self-published ‘From the Storm’ for Amazon’s Kindle. I’ve loved every moment of the process and I’ll keep doing it, regardless of the outcome. Edinburgh is my home now. I have a wonderful, supportive wife and two kids who amaze me more every day. We live at the foot of the Pentland Hills, where you can find me running or mountain biking most weekends.

Swallow Falls by Shaun Whittington Swallow Falls by Shaun Whittington May 07, 2012 $2.99 82546 words Sample 30%
Author bio:
Born in England. Now lives in Glasgow, Scotland. Shaun mainly writes dark tales with twists, not necessarily all out horror, and likes to keep his writing spelling to U.K. English, because it's easier for him. He's working on an apocalyptic series called "Snatchers," and it probably won't be available until 2013. Shaun also likes to give out his novels for FREE to his fellow Smashers for the first week, before Premium distribution. As he wants to be read, and is more than happy to make his money on the other distributed book stores, like Apple, Kobo etc. He also self publishes on Amazon. So please spread the word on this, so your friends won't miss out on a free book, as not everyone reads a writers profile. His next novel is called "Black Hour," and is focused on a teacher and a group of students, who are trapped in a school as a massacre is taking place. "Black Hour" will be ready in the Autumn.

A Sorrow Beyond Tears by Angelika Thorsdottir A Sorrow Beyond Tears by Angelika Thorsdottir May 06, 2012 $2.99 50243 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
ME: Armed with a masters degree in psychology, I joined the FBI, only to be invited to resign four years later, despite having the highest bad-guy-off-the-street ratio in the Bureau. Maybe they didn't like the body count. After adding a law degree from Harvard, I found myself inexplicably unemployable, so I set up my own shyster shop as an advocate for endangered women and children. The SEC believes I'm a criminal because I make megabucks in trading. The IRS doesn't trust me because I always pay the maximum tax possible. Everybody wants my millions. Women envy my beauty and my freedom. Men crave my body. But the devil already owns my soul. The names in my books have been changed to protect the guilty. Especially me. Some locales and geophysical descriptions may have been whimsically switched with others, just so you won't ever be able to find me. Most of the facts are lies. Most of the lies are half-truths, but a few truths are truly true. It's up to you to figure it out, if you can. But don't ask me anything more, because I just might answer you, and then I would have to kill you. Trust me on that. My name is Angelika. Or whatever.

Author bio:
I have always been a creative one (just ask my mom how many stories I told her), delighting in arts: painting, leathercrafting, pen and ink, sculpture, poetry, acting, comedy and now beginning my foray as an author with my first novel, Wrong Way Street. I have enjoyed a varied and exciting career path, everything from cowboying to wildlife conservation, construction to private protection, teaching to translating, and many other completely unrelated disciplines (just for the fun of it). I am a college graduate (again, an enigmatic experience: science, computer programming, engineering, foreign languages, linguistics, history, theatre, acting, rodeo, wilderness survival, fitness/health... you get the idea). I'd like to think my unique and rich life experience lends itself to my writing.

UnGodly Sins by Penn Carol UnGodly Sins by Penn Carol May 05, 2012 $9.99 127939 words Sample 35%
Author bio:
Author Penn Carol is a published author who has written six books under the pen name Carolina Barbour for the erotica genre and Siren Publishing. Though she enjoys tantalizing readers with steamy sex scenes and murder plot twists her first love has always been suspense thrillers. UnGodly Sins is her debut into the mystery-writing genre. As with her erotica novels Penn enjoys weaving a tale of mystery and suspense that keeps her readers on the edge of their seats. She doesn’t feel satisfied until the reader has laughed, cried, and felt all the emotions of her characters through each chapter. She writes the characters to feel real, a person you know, love, or hate, and you become emotionally attached to the story as well as the characters she created. Penn doesn’t mind taking you there. You wouldn’t find that cliché writing that ends the way you want it to or thought it would. Instead, she writes to deliver a novel that takes you on a continuous roller-coaster ride with all the bells and whistles, gotcha, and then some. From the first chapter to the last, you will enjoy turning the pages to see what happens next and she doesn’t disappoint. Penn Carol is a native Hoosier from Indianapolis, Indiana, but has resided in Texas for some twenty-odd years. She lives and enjoys life with her husband, sons, and two feisty miniature Schnauzers. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading good romance, erotica, and mystery novels when she isn’t barricaded in her office writing.
