Author bio:
Born in the U.K. and raised near Montreal, Brian Walsh was a journalist and broadcaster before joining a major international company. For much of his 30-year career he was involved in human resources, specifically training. While living in the arctic, Brian studied anthropology and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). Those experiences combined with extensive international travel prepared him for working with other cultures. He was then transferred to China where he served as his company’s General Manager. After his return to North America, he elected early retirement to further his earlier interest in NLP and hypnotherapy. He returned to formal study, and within four years had achieved his Ph.D. His dissertation, which focused on accelerated learning techniques, inspired his passion and his book, “Unleashing Your Brilliance.” Dr. Walsh is dedicated to personal growth and enrichment through his workshops, teleclasses, audio and video products, and his many articles. He is a master practitioner of NLP, an acupuncture detoxification specialist, an EFT practitioner, and a clinical hypnotherapist. His bestselling book, Unleashing Your Brilliance has a companion DVD, Enriched Learning. In addition, he has co-authored a self-help book with John Gray and Jack Canfield, 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life.
Skinny Thinking Daily Thoughts by Laura Katleman-Prue Skinny Thinking Daily Thoughts by Laura Katleman-Prue Jan. 10, 2011 $7.95 30521 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Laura Katleman-Prue Author of Skinny Thinking Skinny Thinking grew out of Laura Katleman-Prue's desire to heal the eating, weight, and body image issues that plagued her for 35 years. She discovered that the root of her problem was the way she thought about food. In fact, changing her diet was irrelevant, if she didn't change her thinking habits. By teaching herself to go on a "thought diet" and transform her relationship with food, she experienced permanent healing. This healing motivated her to write Skinny Thinking and to lead Skinny Thinking Workshops in order to help others heal their eating issues as well. Laura attended Pomona College and pursued graduate studies in Marketing at Boston College. In 1980, she founded the Boston Brownie Company Inc. with retail and wholesale distribution in 2,000 stores in 14 states along the eastern seaboard. In 1992, Laura completed coursework at Lesley University in Counseling Psychology. That same year, she received a Certification in Transpersonal Psychology from the Theravision Institute. A long-time meditator, she has been teaching meditation and self-inquiry for the past four years. She began teaching Skinny Thinking Workshops in 2009.

Teaching has taken me around the world—literally and philosophically. After I retired from Kamloops, B.C. in 1999, I taught 7 more years in China. China was different; her differences intrigued me. I tried to learn the language and culture: I studied tai qi and calligraphy; I wrote a history of China’s first emperor, the infamous Qin (Emperor of Stone). When I was a kid, most of my friends were bigger and stronger; I learned to share. In education—and in life—we need to share more. I have taught teachers in Canada, China and Korea and given countless workshops about teaching because I believe that teaching is important: teachers create the future; they can change lives. I began my career as a romantic idealist in Grand Forks, B.C. in the 60s. It was the time of a great social upheaval, when we all believed in dreams…then were forced to watch them unfold. Today, I am still at it, whatever it is. My idealism has been tempered by reality, but I am perhaps even more optimistic: whenever I walk into a classroom, I still get goosebumps. I welcome an exchange of ideas: You can contact me at mindsinbloom@gmail.com
