Don't Give Up by Blaise Tshibwabwa Don't Give Up by Blaise Tshibwabwa Dec. 26, 2010 $5.99 11575 words Sample 5%
Author bio:
Blaise Tshibwabwa is a Canadian novelist, author and writer. Understanding his purpose and fulfilling his God given mission on earth is his primary task! Like many, he enjoys listening to Urban/Contemporary Gospel but was not able to find any written novels or books that came with the same dynamics "Flava (anointing) and Swag". "He once said, Kirk Franklin, Deitrick Haddon, Da' T.R.U.T.H, Lecrae and many other sing gospel and it is appealing to anyone. The message is good, deep and never a finger pointer to those who are not labeled Christians or churchgoers!" Not everyone listens to music all the time, some prefer to read... but the "material" is neither available nor accessible! Lyrics are written then sung! Scripts are written then acted. Novels are written and trigger the unknown that create life experiences! KAJOMONA, is the first novel in its category labeled as Urban/ Contemporary Gospel Writing. Written in an engaging and accessible style. Tshibwabwa gives us a coherent analysis of everyday challenges faced by people around the globe by incorporating elements of Christian experiences, and does not pretend to skim the surface, instead he shows a practical application of faith and trust in Christ. Blaise Tshibwabwa's scribe gift can be enjoyed in several works that he releases for the glory of the Most High.

Althea - A Story of Love by Philip Rastocny Althea - A Story of Love by Philip Rastocny Nov. 29, 2010 $5.99 143771 words Sample 16%
Author bio:
A spiritual being having a human experience, I have led an interesting life in this body. Upon my soul’s entry into physical form, I felt in touch with my spirit from a very early age. Questioning the interpretation of reality presented by my own senses, the only truth I found was my connection with the Creator. Exploring the mysteries of life and searching for the answers to classic questions like “Why am I here?” and “What is life all about?” made my personal spirituality my primary focus. While in youthful physical form, my Karma attracted I me to science and math thereby embracing the fascinating mechanical aspects of life. Marveling at how things worked, I was intrigued by complex designs. At age six, I routinely disassembled clocks, lamps, and play toys reassembling them all without a hitch. Building blocks and left over hardware scraps were a huge source of entertainment and an outlet for my creativity. My inquiring spirit found a similar fascination with personal relationships. In them, I discovered something new—my emotions transcended physical form and bonded with my insatiable search for understanding. Puzzled by the conflicting priorities between the heart and the mind, I sought balance after permitting my mind to manage—and correspondingly ruin—these relationships. Along my passionate journey, I consistently chose love and desired to experience it at its highest level. While enjoying the physical form, love’s emotional intensity far exceeded anything my body desired. Like dissecting a clock, I wanted to explore all there was to know about this unique feeling. Love is still my primary journey, and one that appears to have no end. When finding my soul mate, Althea, our immediate attraction was like two magnets jumping towards each other, and my journey seemed complete. From the first moments of our meeting we were inseparable. Different from enmeshment, our respect and encouragement for individual choice and unquestioning support led us to live a life of unconditional love and happiness that poets ponder.

Christina Siew, descending from an Asian heritage, lives in a sunny little island called Singapore. With big dreams in a small city she calls home, she can be found dancing in tandem with the world yet careful enough to skirt around the tenterhooks of its fragile lines. She's a little predictable, yet a little whimsical. Reflective in her own world, she sometimes lives by her own rules. But as she emerged from her shell, she has this simple wish to inspire and bless whoever she comes across; be it people she meets or readers of her book. In 2009, Christina left her finance job after 3 years and took off for a soul-searching adventure. Her quest brought her travelling by herself across the globe from Singapore to Mexico. A time away from her familiar surroundings and people she loves, she shut away the surrounding noises and began to find herself in this quirky cosmos; rooting into her self-identity as she became more in touch with her inner being. Subsequently, her fanciful writings during her full time job, along with her meditations of life, crystallised into being. Fired by her inner calling to inspire and mentor young girls seemingly lost in this world, she took on the challenge to share what she had learned over the years by penning down thoughts, feelings, observations and personal experience that are now immortalised in her book, "Love, Pinkie".

Author bio:
"George with his friends Snip and pup Sierra." George was raised climbing the mountains and fishing the lakes and streams of the Sierra Nevada mountains. At a young age he started to appreciate the value of the unspoiled beauty of the wilderness. To this day he continues to appreciate the beauty of the earth and the life that is upon it. Many of the stories he has written are first hand experiences, such as the lady bugs hatching on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe - as is talked about in The Little Helper. After a tour in Vietnam, George married his wife, Jean, who has been a great benefit to George in his writings and life. George and Jean toured the U.S. and Canada for several months in their VW van seeking a place to raise a family. But nothing was as appealing as their own back yard of Nevada with its desert valleys and high mountains. Now married 39 years, the Morrows reside on a small farm in Fallon, Nevada where they have raised four sons: Jeremy, Jake, Josh and Jesse. George says with a smile, "It's hard not to be happy when you have everything." George is much like anyone else; he's a dreamer about a lot of things, but he is also a doer. When he sets his mind to it, few things stand in the way to get the results he desires. Many of George's dreams have already come true. For instance, when he recently cut a CD at Opal Studios in Portland, Oregon with songs he has written, with his sons accompanying him on instruments, George's heart swelled with joy. By completing this project, he brought closure to a statement he had been wanting to make, mostly to himself. "I've been waiting since I was 12 years old to record in a sound studio, but you know," George says with a smirk, "I'm just going to have to come to grips with the fact that I probably won't ever be a great songwriter like Bob Dylan or a guitarist like Eric Clapton." He laughs like a little boy, "But a storyteller? That's something I can do." Indeed, George is a wonderful storyteller! Whether he's conveying his very first composition about Emily the Goose, or telling about one of his real-life adventures exploring Tahoe, George entertains, evokes emotion, and even teaches. George's motivation is to produce children's literature that elevates values. He also desires to highlight awareness of children's development, as well as their wit and humor. George has a great respect for a child's perspective on nature; the pure relationship of the two is an ongoing theme in his writing.

My name is David McDonald and I am a pastor, drummer, photographer, graphic designer, and writer. Much of what I write is designed specifically to illustrate theological concepts to people within my congregation. I tend to think of my theological writing as something akin to science fiction. SF is a genre in which an idea is often extrapolated into a setting and plot, with characters, so the full implications of that idea can be explored. I want to do that with theology, textual criticism (the study of the biblical manuscripts), and biblical exegesis (the determination of what the biblical text meant to its original audience). I've been married for 12 years to a 6ft Canadian basketball player with Amazonian tendencies and a penchant for body piercing. Her name is Carmel - pronounced ("car" + "mel"...not "car-a-mel" or "cam-er-a" or "ca-mel", though her name has been said in all 3 wrong ways on numerous occasions). We have 2 micronauts in our brood - Jacob (who loves Transformers, GI Joes, and thinks underpants make great hats), 7, and Anna (who likes to pretend she's either a dog, the karate kid, or a hot air balloon), 4. They are both ours (at least, we're pretty sure). We have a dog - Grand Master Flash Christmas Tree McDonald - who's part Bernese Mountain Dog and part werewolf. Our son is terrified of him, and our daughter rides him like She Ra on Swift Wind. We grew up in Vancouver (home to the Olympics and the breeding ground for general coolness) and moved to middle-of-nowheresville Michigan in 2005. Strangely, I think it is still 2005 in Michigan. Carmel likes reality TV but I think that everything wrong with America begins on television shows that star either housewives or horny people. I prefer video games and dark beer - the sacraments of declining youthfulness among white males. I've been highlighted in the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, CNN.com, and the New York Times for the innovative approach our church takes toward Christian spirituality. In 2006 I completed a Doctorate of Ministry with author and futurist Leonard Sweet (leonardsweet.com) at George Fox University. I've got 15 years of pastoral ministry under my belt, and currently serve as the "Coriolis: narrative" for Westwinds Church (westwinds.org), leading that community in a markedly different approach than that of almost any other church in the world - contemplative, Wesleyan, driven by story, enhanced by interactivity, authenticated by historical theologians and modern prophets alike.
