A Textbook of Theosophy | by Charles W Leadbeater May 19, 2012 | $5.99 | 40656 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: Charles Webster Leadbeater was born in February 1854, in Cheshire, England. During his life, he claimed to have been born in 1847, but there is a fairly good body of evidence to say the correct year was 1854. His father — Charles — moved the family to London in 1861 because of a job with the railroad. An uncle — W. W. Capes — got young Charles interested in the priesthood. He was ordained to the clergy by the Bishop of Winchester in 1979. He met Helena P. Blavatsky in 1884. The well-known mystic got him interest in the occult side of religion. Father Leadbeater was so enamored by Madam Blavatsky that he became her disciple, mov-ing to Adyar, India shortly after meeting her. He renounced his priesthood and took up studies under Blavatsky. In the early part of the twentieth century, he and James I. Wedgwood founded the Liberal Catholic Church. Their intent was to nourish esoteric liturgies, separate from the Anglican and Roman Rites of the church catholic. |

| Author bio: Swami Shri Adgadanad Ji Maharaj came to the recluse of the worldly saint Paramanand Ji at the age of 23 years in November 1955 searching for the truth. The hermitage of Parmanand Ji was at Chitrakoot Anusuiya, Satna, Madhya Pradesh (India) amidst the dense forests infested with wild animals. Living in such inhabitable forest in the absence of any facility. This rightly reflects that he was a great sage. Reverend Paramhans Ji received premonitions of his arrival many years ago. The day he reached the ashram, Paramhans Ji received divine presage. He had declared to his disciples, “A young man who is ardently seeking to go beyond the periodicity of life must be coming at any moment now.†Moment he cast his eye upon him, Paramahans Ji declared, “Here he is!†Whenever a pupil comes in contact with a great sage, immediately it is beyond his senses to fathom the greatness of the sage. He was also intimated by the divine soul and chaste Brahmin, “The sages who have been incarnated in this world, your Guru has all those qualities and he is such sage. With the strengthening of his faith in the Guru his spiritual pursuit also speeded up. Guided under the angelic guidance of the Guru he set out on the path of spiritual freedom. The aim was established. Maharaj Ji, although was not interested in writing, following the godly directions he has contributed invaluable treatises through speech and in text for the social good. The first such publication is ‘Jeevanadarsh and Atmaanubhooti’ – is an account of the ideal life and the spiritual pursuit of his Guru Paramhans Paramanand Ji. It is a collection of his life sketch and many astonishing incidents. Many of the people are even alive today, who have seen such unique personality and for that matter they consider themselves very lucky. Secrets of the techniques of spiritual pursuits, which have been revealed to him by the Guru, have also been included in this book. It is one of the most appraised and invaluable books in today’s world, on the subject of spiritualism, which could only be perceived by the student on the path of attainment of spiritualism. The divine direction has become instrumental in the creation of this book. Since the thought , promulgated by the Yogeshwar Lord Krishna have been expressed in their simple rudimentary form, it is called ‘Yatharth Geeta’. Only a contemporary saint can find true solution for the social good, answers to their questions and solve their problems. The dead do not rule from the graves. To have reverence for the departed and take guidance from them to certain extent may be alright, however, for the contemporary problems, we need to take guidance from some great living saint only. Swami Ji has never advanced claim that he has attained divinity. He merely presents to the society, what he has been able to receive in his quest of Truth. |

Wagging My Redshift Tail - A Philosophy of Madness | by Nepomuk Onderdonk April 27, 2012 | Free! | 91642 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I am a tiger who escaped from the circus - (escaped from consensual reality) - but got lonely, and returned to the circus with the powers that come from being free to leave. These powers are considered "schizophrenia" in western science, or "shamanism" in my native Aztec culture. There is a fine line dividing sz and shamanism, though, as I see it: the dreamer must control the dream, not the dream the dreamer. And I don't take meds, but I did take seroquel for 4 months, at 600mg a day, way too much, and quit cold turkey, ahd a bad 8-day experience, and I don't mess with that stuff anymore. I don't believe in gravity - I live in a non-ordinary unvierse model. And I am the leader of all matter and energy in the war against time. Abducted by aliens because I asked them to tell me a story, monsters come drawing paradise screens on the air; they were out fishing anyway and I just swam up to the hook. lightning justified, release unknown.... |

| Author bio: The humane Eminent Scholar Mohammad Amin Sheikho (His soul has been sanctified by Al’lah)(1890-1964) His full moon appeared over Damascus in the year 1890. He completed his studies when he became eighteen years old. He graduated in the rank of security officer. He faced storms of criminals in his work with courage and boldness, and he besieged many guerrillas and arrested their leaders. All his works were crowned in victory and support until he was surnamed ‘Aslan’, meaning ‘the lion’. After he became forty years old: His sanctified assemblies were distinguished by charming and unique revelation in perfect and plain meanings, and complete presence of reality. His words used to hit the target and fall cool and peaceful in the hearts of the listeners, as a light that bewitched them to free their spirits to soar very high. Why are we created? What is this universe for? What is the use of religious rituals? What is hunger for, followed by eating in Ramadan? What is the output and benefit of prayer? Why do pilgrimage to a waterless and treeless desert? Why were we brought into existence? Where were we? What is death for? And what is really after it? What is the spirit? What is the soul? What is the mind? What is paradise? What is hell? What about the problem of fate? What is the pre-material world (the world of spirits)? On the year 1953, the great philosopher Sir John Godolphin Bennett had come to meet him, and wrote one book about this great meeting called (Journeys in Islamic Countries). He spent a valuable life full of knowledge of God, which the heart does not feel safe without, and without which humankind won’t achieve happiness until he joined the highest Comrade in the first days of Rabi’ Thani in the year 1964. |

Pro Ethics for Selling Addictive Products in America: The Informative Consumers Right to Buy | by Troy Veenstra April 03, 2012 | $2.99 | 3650 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: As a child I grew up in Wyoming, Michigan the eldest child of 2 sisters and 2 brothers, (including another half brother). At around the age of 15 I was forced to take control as head of the household when my parents divorced, more or less forcing me to take on the responsibility of raising my sister Laura (my sister Alisha, the youngest of the two going with my mother) and my brother Eric as well as taking care of my father in the months that followed after his health diminished. At the age of 16 I was forced to quit high school, and sought employment to help take care of my father and his continued health issues, though by then my mother had won custody of all my sibblings. In January 1998, my father passed away after taking a fall a few days after christmas, at that time, with how my life was going and my outlook on things (Way Emo) i was hoping for his death as it was the only way at that time that i felt my life would have a purpose or meaning, i was starting to hate all my friends and family members who had gone on to college, found lovers, and started having famlies of their own, while my life was a constant rut. In the end he passed away and I went to live with my maternal grandparents, who taught be a lot about the real world, life, love, and family. In 2000 after the passing of both my grandparents, I went back to school and received my GED. In 2004, thanks to the assistance of a pastor (John Collins), I was able to go to college and major in pre-law. While at college I took on several other areas of study to include, diversity in society, psychology, philosophy, sociology, history and humanities. These classes helped me in understanding a lot about my full potential as well as the world around me. In 2005 I became a volunteer for CASA (court Appointed Special Advocates) for abused and Negelcted children, and did this until late 2009 when my own health issues began to interfer with my daily life. Having no insurance because of a cheap employer (Advance Securtiy) i either ignored my health issues or went to free clinics which were able to extend things. In December of 2010 thanks to the New Health Care Act i was able to obtain health insurace, only to find out a few months ago that i have NASH, more or less known as Non-Alcoholic Liver Issues, and that i now have 5 - 15 years before i will need a liver transplant, that is of course if i can get my other health issues in check before that time. Writing Motivation: What motivates me to write is my ability to always think and see things from outside of the box... in fact for me there is no box, I just have an odd way of looking at things. Or as some of my professors said in college, "I live in a constant state of parinoia." which i agree is true. Genres: Currently my most recent work is in the genre of historical fiction (Titanic: Echo of the Dying Confession) My reasons for writing about the Titanic as an historical fiction derived from an idea that my grandfather had about the titanic being sunk on purpose. Following this idea I created the novel which shows the possibility of this notion as well as digs deeper into the heart of mans vengeance and the wrath of God. Add to this a book i just came out with called "The heat of Passion Doctrine: Kill your Spouse and Get Away with Murder" and one can see that obscured world i live in... Future works: I am also working on 2 other novels at the moment, one titled "Reasons to be Missed" that deals with a young girl dealing with the troubles in her life (cancer and love life issues). As well as working on a book about the murder of my Cousin Jeff Dryden who was abused by his Girlfriend who eventually killed him buy stabbing him in the neck when he decided to leave her. This book is very dear to my heart and is taking me a little bit longer than expected but i am working on it. This site is my way of letting my fans know more about me as well as obtain copies of my works both ebook and print at a discounted rate. Thanks for reading and being a fan... |

The Book Of Truths | by Tremayne Curtis March 19, 2012 | $3.99 | 18787 words | Sample 15% |
| Author bio: Tremayne Curtis, offhanded greeted by names of world greatest philosopher and poet of the 21st century, sees still not himself in those lights; but easier thinks to employ strength and encounter by yet such ways as implicates him. He is one to have partaken in deathly trances oft as he draws breath, and plunges willy-nilly in Reason as one fever-brained does in strange fits! And by some curious force seeking consummation, is harassed with the pen to confess intelligences thence obtained. Whether these be wit, or mere initiates of a giddy brain, provokes Thought infinitely – estranging Question. All in one rolled, our author purposes still to nourish the ill-wracked, lean, and bloody world; by this means, and other not as yet perceived. Thus is the purpose in the writing infolded, yearning, in the sweet reader’s reading; lest he be wracked in vain. He gives thanks, and contents not, most starved, in the giving still, to all that might read him at all! |
