Horncastle's Suitcase | by Graeme Horncastle April 24, 2012 | $4.99 | 106510 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: From a casual first glance one could assume this book is just a boring chronicle of a family. First impressions can be wrong and certainly are in this case. The story consists of a rollercoaster ride, right from birth in Blenheim, to childhood on a 30-cow dairy farm near Karamea on the West Coast of New Zealand where he was raised by a "devoted mother and a frustrated eccentric father". Life was great on the Coast for youngsters with weird and wacky incidents but with a father who increasingly took to the bottle, the economics of the farm were rocky and life was full of challenges. Then followed a teenage marriage with a child due. Graeme Horncastle gritted his teeth and was determined to make a go of it. He was succeeding but then tragedy intervened with the loss of a daughter to cancer, the aftermath of grief and despair, alcoholism, depression, marital crisis and attempted suicide. Then slowly Graeme, with support, dragged himself up and got his life back together again. Today the Horncastle family own and operate the 86 room Pavilions Hotel in Christchurch New Zealand. Born in Blenheim in September 1951, Graeme returned to Marlborough and in particular Picton where he and his wife Maureen took over Oxley's Tavern. Then Australia and then to Christchurch where the author tells of the Christchurch earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. The book is well produced, well illustrated, and makes for absorbing reading. Graeme is honest, at times almost brutally, but the stories and incidents range from laughter to tears. There's never been a dull moment in Graeme Horncastle's life with its highs and lows. That is relayed to the reader for an entertaining read. |

How to get on the employment ladder | by Tracey Morewood April 23, 2012 | $20.00 | 66595 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Having left school with no qualifications I fell into certain jobs. I then got told I was going to be made redundant so I went back to college in my 30's. This was to change my life - for the better. I eventually went to work within prisons and I actually found my 'niche', helping others to overcome their barriers and realise their potential. Being told that I had changed people's lifes and inspired them gave me the motivation to carry on. I left prison last year to work with the un-employed, again being told how much I had helped to transform and inspire others led me to write my first book. How to get on the employment ladder. I am so passionate about helping others to develop and I know this book helps as it has got many back into work. A single mum of two teenage boys, often struggling to pay the bills but I did it. and anyone out there who wants to find work will. Fact. |

Of Shadows And Footprints | by Joe H. Bell April 19, 2012 | $2.99 | 68470 words | |
| Author bio: I was slapped into existence in 1952 in a small, rustic town named Longview in the state of Texas. Graduated Pine Tree High School in 1971 and North Texas State University in 1978. It took longer than normal, but I paid for it all myself. Enjoyed great success in the corporate business world which led to my moving to California in 1987, married in 1990 and starting my own business in 1993. The business ran well for a number of years, finally ceasing in 2011, thanks to the boys on Wall Street. It was November, 2010 when I was coaxed into writing my memoir, “Of Shadows and Footprintsâ€. It is the story of a man that bestowed unsullied trust upon those deemed worthy, yet they knew not the treasure, and this propelled him into oblivion for decades. Within this nothingness, he discovered the one real thing necessary for surviving this human life. To be published April, 2012. |

Golf Mind Play: Outsmarting your brain to play your best golf | by Tracy Tresidder April 18, 2012 | $12.99 | 11967 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Tracy Tresidder M.Ed PCC Golf Mind Coach 2009 ICF NSW Coach of the Year I am a professional coach, author, lecturer and speaker in the areas of work/life balance, stress management and golf psychology. I have a wealth of knowledge and communication skills acquired through teaching Physical Education, Health and Personal Development to adults and children across the full range of public and private sectors. I hold a Masters Degree in Education majoring in Exercise Physiology and have completed a Professional Development Certificate in Coaching at the University of Sydney. I am a member of the University’s Coaching and Mentoring Association and am a Professional Certified Coach with the internationally recognised and highly respected International Coach Federation of which I am also the Director of Professional Standards and was named the 2009 ICF NSW Coach of the Year. My particular area of interest is assisting individuals to reach their full potential; whether it is through golf psychology, leadership development, communication effectiveness, increasing emotional intelligence, stress management or work/life balance. I have a long association with sport; I previously taught physical education at several major high schools over 15 years and lectured and tutored at University in the area of Human Movement where I have been involved for the past 17 years. I have coached many teams and individuals in a range of sporting disciplines to personal best performances including grand final wins. I took up golf as an interest only 10 years ago and became the 2005 Ladies Club Champion at my local golf club, placed 5th in the 2006 NSW Champion of Champions Nett Event, and in the top 20 of the 2007 NSW Golf Medal Play Off Event I found that by applying the psychology I was using with my business and life coaching clients in the golfing arena, I was able to not only bring my own handicap down but could pass the benefit of my knowledge and its application onto those who play with me. By applying the long-proven coaching methods I use with my business and private clients to the psyche of golf and golfers, I have been able to calm the “golf gremlin within†of my golf mind coaching clients and assisted them in dropping their handicap and enjoying their golf more than ever. This can be achieved either in a group or one on one situation with remarkable success. More recently I have created photographic presentations of some of the more basic aspects of golf. Using my interactive and engaging speaking style I am able to bring new information to golfers in an easy to understand, enjoyable and memorable way. I gain a great deal of satisfaction as I see improvements in both handicaps and the player’s level of enjoyment. I am inspired by the people that I coach and love to hear it when they in turn say they are inspired by me. |
