The Making of Tibias Ivory: Through the Eyes of Innocence | by D. Allen Jenkins Dec. 05, 2009 | $4.95 | 96250 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: D. Allen Jenkins, Doug to all who know him (which you now do), hails from the heart of Buckeye Nation in Columbus, Ohio. Raised in Ohio’s first capital city, Chillicothe, he writes from the prospective of a husband of 28-years, the father of one son, and of being an ordained minister for over thirty-two years. Formerly a recorded minister in the Evangelical Friends Church (Quaker), Doug is now an ordained Elder in The Church of the Nazarene, and is on staff at the Pickerington Church of the Nazarene in Pickerington, Ohio, where he has been actively involved for more than 17 years. In 1998, Doug started experiencing a pervasive “pins and needles†tingling in his back that soon spread all over his body. A year of intensive and repetitious testing revealed that he was battling the debilitating disease of Multiple Sclerosis that has left him numb over eighty-percent of his body. His musical talents were affected tremendously by the eroding effects of this malady, making his love of playing the piano an increasingly difficult task, as were his abilities to enjoy simple things like pick-up football games with his son and playing softball. At the inspiration of a pastoral friend, George Sisler, Doug realized the closing of one door was the opening of another, and he began reviving a latent longing to write creatively of the things held most important: his faith in Christ and his love for his family. His work seeks to honor them in both spirit and truth. Doug’s writing talents have won him accolades on every level of his career, from award winning sermons in both college and in his pastoral endeavors, to numerous recognitions for his poetry, including publication in several poetic journals, such as Illuminations (2005), The Private Lantern (2004), and Shadows of the Season: The Members Collection (2004). His poetry has been featured in many online venues, including JBStillwater.com, PoemTrain.com, and Faithwriters.com. In 2005, he earned The Gold Seal Award from FaithWriters.com for his début novel, The Making of Tibias Ivory: Freedom’s Quest. Reader responses have echoed this endorsement, and many have been clamoring for the continuation of this entrancing and inspiring saga. He is happy to oblige their requests! Doug, a 1983 graduate of Ohio Christian University, the alma mater of New York Times bestselling author John Maxwell, is more than willing to share his incredible story of grace and courage with your church, book club, or to you personally. He believes that the first and biggest step in conquering your life challenges is daring to face them head on with the knowledge that you are not alone in your quest to overcome. There is power and purpose for your life. Doug invites you to contact him through his website at www.tibiasivory.com. |

While a student at Romeo High, Bill started his literary career by approaching a local newspaper about writing a weekly column for teens. After graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was initially stationed at Tyndall AFB, Florida. In 1961, he was assigned to the Air Force Security Service and stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. Here he wrote a guide to living in Germany for the serviceman and his family titled, “G.I. Over the years, through prayer, and with the help of family and friends, he now has regained what he lost. In 1998, Bill decided to return to the activity he enjoyed most, writing. Subsequently, he wrote COMES THE END which received rave reviews from critics and readers alike. He followed with his second book, “THE GATHERINGâ€, which also has received an outstanding reception. | Author bio: Almost five years ago Ken took off from Heathrow Airport on a business trip to America on arrival his passport threw up an anomaly and he was subsequently arrested at Washington Airport and carted away to spend almost a month in jail, sharing space with convicted murderers and drug barons. Eventually, in both chains and handcuffs, he was unceremoniously deported to France, put into a rat-infested prison, charged with crimes he did not understand let alone commit. Being a businessman one minute and a convict the next has a very levelling effect on a fellow, especially when one has always steered on the ‘right’ side of the law! In order to stop himself going mad with frustration and worry he began to draw up the outline for the Knights of Black Chapter. The last four and a half years have been spent researching the intriguing world of freemasonry and developing the full story line for The Knights of Black Chapter, in parallel with fighting and eventually winning the battle to clear his name with the French authorities. Ken Bourne-Turner is a practising Freemason and Knights Templar of the St Amand Preceptory with full allegiance to: The United Religious and Military Orders of the Temple, and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta in England and Wales and the Dominions and Dependencies of the British Crown. Abandoned on Everest | by Charles G. Irion Nov. 20, 2009 | $3.99 | 42884 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: Charles G. Irion is a publisher, author, adventurer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. In the 1970s, Irion began his career in commercial real estate development and brokerage. In 1983, he founded U.S. Park Investments, a company that owns and brokers manufactured home and RV communities. Over the years, Irion has garnered a large collection of recipes from resident RV campers. More than 350 of these can be found in his book, Roadkill Cooking for Campers: The Best Dang Wild Game Cookbook in the World. In 2007, Irion founded Irion Books LLC and began writing and publishing books. His published books include the Summit Murder Mystery series and the Hell Series. The impetus behind the Summit Murder Mystery series is Irion’s 1987 expedition to Mount Everest from the China side. Irion couldn’t resist creating plot-twisting, adventure-filled stories against the backdrop of the Seven Summits, the highest and deadliest mountains on the world’s seven continents. Irion’s June 2011 climbing expedition of Mt. Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, also included a medical mission with the K2 Adventures Foundation, a non-profit organization and one of Irion’s philanthropic endeavors, and his June 2012 climbing expedition of Machu Picchu, in Peru, only added to this desire. By experiencing the thrill of the climb and the community culture for himself, his books are more tangible, exciting and realistic. Irion’s other book series; the Hell Series is comprised of four books. Remodeling Hell, followed by Autograph Hell, Car Dealer Hell and Divorce Hell. Inspired by real-life events, these books are true stories created by actual (hellish) events that infuriated Irion to the point of wanting to expose the demons through his writings and to guide others on how to avoid the same ‘Hell’ he experienced. He is donating all of the net proceeds of his Hell Series to victims of fraud. Irion also supports other humanitarian-relief organizations, such as Project C.U.R.E. and Healing the Children. He has traveled to Belize, Cuba, Peru, Burkina Faso and Tanzania with Project C.U.R.E. on missions. Murder on Everest (A Summit Murder Mystery) | by Charles G. Irion Nov. 20, 2009 | $8.99 | 109279 words | Sample 10% |
Charles Irion holds a Masters of Business Administration in International Marketing and Finance from the American Graduate School of International Management aka Thunderbird, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Biology and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Busted | by Ron Sharrow Nov. 01, 2009 | $9.99 | 81649 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Ron Sharrow was born and educated in in Maryland. He attended the Baltimore City College, The University of Maryland and earned his law degree at the University of Baltimore School of Law. His Baltimore law firm, established in 1965, has represented clients in both criminal and civil cases for more than forty years. Ron was one of the three lawyers in the country who pioneered the concept of legal clinics which championed readily available and affordable legal services from store-front law offices throughout the United States. By the end of 1977, he had established 20 legal clinic offices in 8 states on the East Coast. His involvement in that movement led to a lawsuit he filed against the Maryland State Bar Association for violation of his First Amendment right to freedom of speech. The organized bar, as it had done for more than 100 hundred years, enforced its legislated ban against professional advertising and refused to grant him permission to advertise the availability of the legal clinics' services. The constitutional issue raised in that case made its way through the Federal Court system and was resolved favorably by the United States Supreme Court in the summer of 1977. Ron Sharrow became the first lawyer to advertise his services on television. Among his other achievements, he argued two landmark cases before the Maryland Court of Appeals which established precedents in the fields of Medical Malpractice and Contract Law. In the early years of his career, he handled cases in various fields of law. Although his personal favorites were the criminal cases, he eventually narrowed the emphasis of his practice to personal injury litigation. His firm was among the largest personal injury practices in the State of Maryland. By 1988, it had represented in excess of 12,000 clients. Throughout the years during which he was actively engaged in his law practice, Ron kept a journal into which he scribbled notes of the funny things people said to him…the malapropos and the preposterous situations people got themselves into. He attributes the maintenance of his sanity to a keen sense of humor which triggered his observation of the humorous side of most situations. It was the humor he chronicled in that journal which led him to the decision to memorialize these stories in The Full Moon Diary (a work in progress) and the series of Bruce West novels. Since he retired from active practice in 1998 he, with his wife, Beth and their pet Maltese, Trinket divide their time between their home in Palm Desert, California and their Central Park apartment in New York City. |

| Author bio: I designed the NASA's logo that was done with bent one line for each letter of "N", "A", "S", "A" that had been retired thankfully. I didn't receive any compensation for it. I just gave it away. I was hoping I would garner some name recognition but it didn't quite turn out that way. I was in a very delicate situation back in 1979 and early 1980s. I also designed the logo for intel. One with letter "e" dropping about half way. I was hoping to get paid but at the last minute this woman who set up the meeting for both of us, I and the man from intel, intervened and mangled the deal. I had gotten nothing out of that to my dismay. |

Surviving Islamerica | by Guy Humphries Oct. 29, 2009 | $4.95 | 101556 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: From a bare-foot 6 year old Ozark Foothills farm boy who was blessed with a 1st teacher that convinced us that "YOU CAN", to officer of a Memphis bank at age 22, to president of a small town bank at 32, to Senior Lending Officer of a Little Rock bank, to rescuing "failing" small banks. That made for an exciting 46-year career in banking with real estate as a sideline. Operating a one-man real estate brokerage representing homebuyer’s exclusively which is a joy at age 77. Most brokers try to fairly represent both sides of a home sale transaction, an impossible exercise that is much like my wife filing a contested divorce action then I hire her attorney to “represent meâ€. All that with no college education but constant study through industry related schools until age 62 resulting in the equivalent of a degree from a business school. Born in the depths of the Great Depression, I am grateful that my very poor small-farm parents were not pro-choice-death; else, I would not be here since they could ill afford another child. During my early years, mother was the sole caregiver for her mother who was dying an excruciation death with cancer. We had no phone, automobile, running water and luxuries but we cherished God and each other. We were was grateful to God for clothes and food (mostly home grown or bartered.) Neighbors who had no food or warm clothing were the poor. I did not realize that we were poor until President Johnson defined it for us. Married at age 18. Remain married to the same sweet lady 59 years later. Grandpa at 39. GreatGrandpa at 63. At age 13, trusted Jesus to become a truly-born-again-child-of-God like Jesus clearly described in John 3. After intense conviction by God's Holy Spirit, Jesus saved my inner man, my spirit when I trusted Him and prayed, “God be merciful to me a sinner.†(Luke 16:13b) Baptist deacon over 50 years. Sunday school teacher over 40+ years. Student of God's Word for 70+ years. Enjoy sharing how Jesus loved me, pursued me and saved my spirit, my inner-man making me eager for Him to Rapture me any moment into the presence of God and all of the truly-born-again-children-of-God in paradise or welcome me upon my impending death. I eagerly await either event. I do NOT claim to be a "Christian" since I define that as being Christ-like. That word is miss-used and abused by many professed “Christians†and by the freethinking media. I enjoy the study of God’s Word and the commentary of other students. I enjoy discussing specific points of interpretation with thinkers whose ideas differ. She is terminal with seven abdominal cancers. In addition to expounding on my interpretation of God’s Word, I write about episodes from my life, my parents, my banking career and from one-on-one experiences with powerful Arkansas political figures like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Orval Faubus, Winthrop Rockefeller, Dale Bumpers, David Pryor, Wilbur Mills, etc. 11-1-7 My passion is ...
