Let me tell you a bit about myself and the wonderful family I have been blessed with… We are eight Booms living on a small homestead in Whangarei, New Zealand. Chris and I have been married now for nearly 25 years. I met him in New Zealand shortly before I went to Borneo to be involved in missionary work. Some months later he came over for a visit and declared his love. When I returned to NZ a year later our romance blossomed and we married in 1987. We have been blessed with six beautiful children! Now I am a full time home-schooling mother. I spent some of my childhood in Papua New Guinea, where my parents were missionaries. It was a fantastic childhood – weird and wonderful pets, jungle clubs, huts by the river… We came home to NZ when my twin sister Penny and I were ten. I went on to do my nursing training and worked for the next ten years in both public and private hospitals and as a practice nurse in a doctor’s surgery. I finished nursing when our oldest son was born, and since then have swapped my nurse’s uniform for my teacher’s garb. I have been homes-chooling now for 20 years and it has been my ‘magnum opus’. But whenever I get a spare moment, I love to write! Chris and I are also singer/songwriters (in our spare time!), and have been travelling around New Zealand now for 25 years, singing at churches, camps, conferences etc - most anywhere we’re asked! In 2007 we made the big move and bought 11 acres of land, complete with river and a ninety-year- old barn which was to become our home. I never dreamed that the next four years would hold so much fun and so many memorable moments. We knocked the barn into some semblence of order, evicted the resident possum, put in a few windows and best of all, set up a Homewood stove which was to become the heart of the barn – cooking our food, heating our water and keeping us warm through the cold winter months. In the first six months, we survived two ‘one hundred year’ storms. The barn creaked and shook and groaned, but outlasted the onslaught. Those were exciting, nerve-wracking days and nights of gale force winds, rain so loud on the tin roof that we couldn’t hear ourselves shout, rescuing animals and anxiously watching to see if the barn roof would lift off. In our second year I began writing Where Lions Roar at Night, a family read-aloud book telling all the fun and adventures we had in our first year of living in the barn. The second book in The Barn Chronicles, Where Arrows Fly, was published in 2010 and the third book in the series, Where The Crickets Sing,was released in May 2012, and the fourth book is on its way!

Now is the time to separate lies from truth, evil from good, strength from weakness. My presence here as an author has nothing to do with personal gain, I’m here to reveal this reality and give you the option to live or die. Whatever it is today or tomorrow, your world will never be the same after me (humility don’t pay in this reality). As for my life, I sometimes think I’m a monk, but you will probably find me a better name after reading some of my writings. I’m a Quebecker living in Quebec City, French, so my English surely won’t be academically perfect. Not much running around the planet and no expertise, I think I was born revolted as I passed my whole life from 10 years old (the farthest I can remember) revolted and thinking about changing the world. Apart from a moment in the army and at school, as soon as I became adult, I started making actual projects for a different reality. Writing is the only way I found to express my mind, and today, at 37, and I’m proud of my work. I hope you’ll appreciate it, because I believe it is the only possibility for humanity to ascend at the next step of its evolution, more than that, I believe my conclusions are the only way for humanity to still have potential in 100 years, whatever scientists say, and again; sorry for my lack of humility. One facet of the suite of books I wrote is to make the demonstration that the present reality will fail for many logical and spiritual reasons. That’s why, in the first chapter of the first book, I’ll try to get rid of those readers I can guess will automatically go for personal attacks as soon as I’ll describe what I don’t like of the present reality. However, I don’t want my multiple warnings to deter those who want a fresh view of life, that’s why I’ll say to go for the title that interest you the most; if you want to read about how a person can be revolted against the world, then read “Revolted” if you want a different view of the mind then read “The seat of my mind” if you want a different view of god and the universe, read “Oh my god” if you want a description of another reality, read “A new reality” and so on. Recently I was told that 95% of Lakeland was unexplored in an Archaeological sense. With the abolition of Fox Hunting in 2005 there was a slight chance that places and structures associated with fox hunting would in the fullness of time join them, lost in time and memory. It was with this in mind that I began to compile material for my website. It is not my intention for it to glorify or be used as propaganda for or against hunting, but simply to record associations with a 'sport' traditional to Lakeland for over 300 years. I am a native Lakelander with roots going back to 1700, the 4th generation to follow hounds, with ancestors who stood on the cold tops at dawn, moved the heavy Lakeland stone to free trapped terriers and also 'carried the horn' on occasions. I hope this site is of interest to you. Hunting will not come back in the foreseeable future, perhaps not at all, but for three hundred years hunting and the church were the central thread to many communities. This is a part of the story.
