Re: Vamp | by Heather Mar-Gerrison Oct. 16, 2010 | $0.99 | 28178 words | Sample 30% |
| Author bio: My passion in life is writing - I particularly love writing teen fiction and I am currently working on a number of different projects. I'm currently working on the eighth in the Seltham Community College Series, The Genie and the Master who loved him. That one should be out at the end of June, beginning of July with any luck. Another one that I am hoping to publish around the same time is the Wolf Moon, which is the second in the "Moon" Series, set in the small town of Fernley. This one concentrates on Franklin, and him coming to terms with his new found abilities. I've also recently been working on another favourite genre of mine - historical romances and I've published my very first one this week - The Duchess of Chittenden. I write in my spare time, fitting it in around a fairly demanding part-time job and an equally demanding family! Life is good - actually it's great:) My other great passions in life are Harry Potter, Muse and the Twilight Saga. Harry Potter is my all-time favourite hero and I read (and watch, as I have all of the DVD's too.) the books over and over - I now have the kindle versions too, so Harry is with me wherever I go! (I truly am the only person I know that has three sets of the same books in the same house! Actually make that four with my daughter's collection!)My family all think I'm bonkers but I'm very proud to have been put in Gryffindor on the Pottermore site - it must have been because I kept saying 'Not Slytherin!' I can't tell you how much I love Muse too. I've seen them three times in concert already and I can't wait to see them again. As for the Twilight saga - well what can I say? Team Edward all the way... |

Apples on the Moon | by Karen T. Smith Oct. 15, 2010 | $0.99 | 5226 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: I am a card-carrying technology geek, having cut my teeth on BASIC on my family’s Apple II Plus computer. As a young woman with a passion for reading that equaled my interest in technology, I found science fiction titles were written with the male reader in mind. I didn’t want more space battles and buxom aliens, I wanted to know how technology would change our lives. So I write the stories I wanted to read as a young teen. |

Body Swap | by Jerome Parisse Oct. 15, 2010 | $3.50 | 39731 words | Sample 15% |
| Author bio: I was born and grew up in France, where I developed a love for language, literature, and good food. In my early thirties I moved to Australia where I am based now. I am an agricultural economist and a linguist by education, and a management consultant by trade. However, my passion for writing and literature led me to more creative endeavours... I started by writing short plays. Having studied acting in Sydney and in Paris, it just seemed a natural extension of performing on stage. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue. The rest is history, as we say... I write in both English and French. One of my plays, My Sister's Choice, also makes extensive use of sign language. I have published one novel, The Wings of Leo Spencer, and two plays, The Birthday Knife and Guys, Only Guys! I have written two full-length plays and a large number of short plays, which have been produced in America, Australia, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia. Some of them have won prizes. I have also written and published (mostly online) a large number of articles related to the issue of rare diseases, research and patients, translated in many languages throughout Europe. My writing credits also include an award-winning short story and a radio play. I’m currently working on a full-length play involving spoken English and sign language, and shorter plays. I’m also putting the final touch to two novels, one for young adult (in English), titled Body Swap and another one in French, Metaphore du Rapide. Here's a list of my plays: Full-Length Plays My Sister’s Choice Two sisters. Both Deaf. One who signs and one who doesn’t. It’s all very well, until one of them introduces her boyfriend to the other… A two-act play written for Deaf and hearing audiences, with a mixture of spoken and signed languages Eighty-three What would you do if your eighty-three year old father told you he was dating someone, shortly after your mother’s passing? And what if he had been doing so for many years? Short Plays Love and Light Tania’s deceased husband has left her with bills to pay, no job and no idea where he stashed the money. Will consulting a Psychic provide her with the answer she seeks? The Birthday Knife Never give someone a knife for their birthday… you may end up regretting it. Guys, Only Guys! David is about to reincarnate as a gay man… and he is ecstatic. But should he, really? What if it’s Bad News? An unopened letter, and the sad news it may contain… Smell the Roses Porn and mothers-in-law don’t go well together… The Chopper A play about passion, fate, and life choices The Gene of Truth A defective gene… and what ensues For the Love of Men Gabriel is at it again…. trying to dissuade unsuspecting candidates from becoming gay. But in whose interest, really? The Review We’ve all had performance reviews at work… and we all know they can be daunting. Craig had prepared well for his review, but nothing could prepare him for what he was about to experience… In the Middle of the Night Brad wakes up in the middle of the night. It’s pitch black and he can’t see a thing. But he can feel something is definitely not right… It starts with a ‘D’ A day in the life of two very special girls Bye Mum! Bye Dad! A last farewell to Grandad and Grandma, or so it seems… |

Dry Bones | by Matthew Waldram Oct. 15, 2010 | Free! | 3261 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Matt is an English author originally from Derby, but now living in Europe’s world-famous ‘London’ where he spends more money on Council Tax alone than he is ever likely to earn. He used to have huge hair, though now has very little, at times he looks like a badly receding microphone. He still refers to delicious, round bread products as ‘cobs’ but no longer says ‘ay-up!’ As well as writing short stories and novels, Matt also writes screenplays which he will happily trade for HARD CASH: ‘People talk about the joy of writing,’ sneers Waldram, ‘but for me it’s all just about the money really!’ Matt would love for you to reach out and touch him (in a distinctly cyber sense). |

Silver - Destiny - | by Steve Jensen Oct. 14, 2010 | $0.99 | 148049 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Steve Jensen is a writer and a creator. Not an inventor of material things, but a weaver of fantastic worlds, a deserter of reality, and a mind trickster. He lives with his wife, two daughters, and furry guinea pigs somewhere between the real world and a world contained only within the boundaries of your imagination… Steven was born in Concord New Hampshire but raised on Lake Winnisquam in the town of Laconia New Hampshire. Steven's creativity and ambition to entertain others began when still a young boy. He often wrote stories, drew artistic drawings, or created intricate crafts for others. Later as he moved into high school, he always thrived and excelled whenever lengthy writing or artistic design was needed of him. Whether for school parade floats, or event posters, Steven was always praised for his work. High School was where he impressed the most important person of all, his high school sweetheart, Amber Adario. Steven passed the new girl from Florida a well written love note during history class... she turned him down. Although, not one to give up easily, Steven continued to pursue Amber. She finally decided to give him a chance. That chance still holds today as they have been married since August twentieth of 1994. Moving on to a technical college for engineering, he found that his forte' was in creative and logical thinking. It was a strange combination of challenges he was willing to tackle. Early on in his college career, Steven decided he would serve his country. He left to enter into the United States Air Force stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and living in Boise Idaho. He served for almost five years as a Ground Radar Operator and Technician finally moving into the computer field. His understanding of electronics and work in computers helped fuel his creativity, as he decided to pursue avenues in advancing technology for the future. During his enlistment, Steven worked hard to pursue his college degree at Boise State University. Even though taking courses that interested him in writing, creative thinking, logic, and philosophy, he still decided to obtain his degree in electronics technology since it fit with his Air Force career. At the end of his duty, Steven was discharged, and he moved to Nashua New Hampshire where he and Amber had their first child, Sydney. Thus began the grand adventure of parenthood. They lived in Nashua for a short time and finally settled in Holden Massachusetts for Steven's job. They had their second child Hannah, and finally the Jensen foursome was formed. Working day to day to support his wonderful and loving family, one day Steven felt a need to do more, to do the one thing he had always craved, but never pursued fully... to entertain with writing. Silver was born that day as Steven spent the next year trying his hand at and succeeding in writing his first Novel. This was no meager task around work, a wife, and two great children. Still living in Holden Massachusetts, Steven has many great projects in mind and continues writing to thrill and entertain the world. "Everyone needs an escape from reality, an escape into the unknown, and an escape into the unlimited world of fantasy where anything is possible." - Steven Jensen |

Gaunt Rainbow | by Matthew Sawyer Oct. 13, 2010 | $4.99 | 86864 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: About me ... I don't have any awards - not even an honorable mention. Heck, I didn't even go to school to become a Writer - I was going to be a Fine Art Painter. Yet I had to pay my student loans. After college, I worked in Mental Health - as in schizophrenics and other assortment of severe mental disorders. All the while, I painted and drew - and wrote. I'm a Stephen King fan, so that may have something to do with my latter ambition in life. I was reading The Waste Lands (Dark Tower Book 3), much to my disappointment, and the Master's words spoke to me. King once said something about knowing you're ready to write a book when you recognize the fact - paraphrased - "You can do better." Grandiose, I know, but I knew the story I wanted to read - years of drawing monsters had spun my own mythology and I hoped for something comparable and real. The book I wanted to write would fulfill a fading desire and breathe life into the chimeras I had sketched into my notebooks. That visual mythology was collectively called "The Mortui Philosophies." I had tried animation, but the repetitive work only produced frustration. So much in fact, I joined the 'sane' world and switched careers into Internet Technology. Secure, I had stopped painting and focused on a very rewarding career. After a few years lacking expression from my creative self and a disenchanting experience with the Gunslinger, my Pazuzu Trilogy took its first breath. And there is the reason readers should read my Pazuzu Trilogy - it is a unique, blasphemous, scrubbed-til-Sunday epic. The Eighth Revision is the first pass in which I did not make major changes - I found typos and a few obtuse sentences, but other than those, the changes are smattering instances of changing blocks of text into dialogue. If my 4,000+ readers would please try Pazuzu - Manifestation again, I don't think they'll be disappointed - it's the same story now told with an Active Voice and looks downright professional opposed my miserable self-publishing effort to date. I hope readers will enjoy the free ebook version of Manifestation - the first book in the trilogy - tell everyone they know and buy the second and third book. Manifestation is background and Emergence is when the story really picks-up speed. The Seventh Revision was good, but the Eighth is better. |

Fate of Thorik | by Anthony Wedgeworth Oct. 12, 2010 | $0.99 | 126825 words | Sample 80% |
| Author bio: Living near the Mississippi River bluffs of northern Iowa, my wife and I enjoy the scenic views and great living of small town America. Our two oldest boys live in northwest Wisconsin and enjoy hunting and fishing, like most that live in the area. Our next son is going to college in Iowa's UNI, while our oldest daughter is starting college in Minneapolis area. Our youngest daughter is still in school and as well. We just became grandparents in December and are planning to spoil our new granddaughter, Laney, every time we see her. On a personal note, I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and lived in more states than I recall as I grew up, including a stint in Madagascar, Africa. Moving every year didn't allow for making many long term friendships so I became fascinated with stories and movies of fantasy. I began making notes on my own series for over 20 years, one which had excitement, great depth of characters, and yet was easy to read for those of us with reading disabilities. To make up for my feeling of being stupid as a teenager (Only to find out later that I was severely dyslexic), I became involved in theater, choir, dance and various sports. After high-school, I learned techniques to overcome my challenges and moved into engineering, training, business presentations, and speaking in front of large groups in corporate settings. I live my life by a system I call "Realm". Respectful, Ethical, Assertive, Legal, and Moral. I've stumbled more than once along the way and I'm sure I will again, but I always come back to these basics to help guide me to move forward. My family is the highest priority in my life. They have helped me grow and I have learned more from them than I ever could have on my own. |

Before Leonora Wakes | by Lee Thompson Oct. 10, 2010 | $3.99 | 46050 words | Sample 50% |
| Author bio: Lee Thompson started selling fiction in early 2010, and most of his work centers around his Division Mythos. His novels include NURSERY RHYMES 4 DEAD CHILDREN (Delirium Books, 2011) and THE DAMPNESS OF MOURNING (Darkfuse Publications, 2012). His current novel, THE COLLECTED SONGS OF SONNELION, is being serialized on Darkfuse Publication's website every week. “Lee Thompson knows his horror-noir. He fuses both genres together in the turmoil of terror, tragedy, blood, guilt, and lost chances at redemption.â€â€“Tom Piccirilli, author of THE LAST KIND WORDS “Thompson’s voice is his own — strong, hypnotic, and unsettling. Nursery Rhymes 4 Dead Children is a bleak fucking book, and therein lies its danger. So beautifully-constructed is Thompson’s prose, that the reader is often caught off-guard, mesmerized by a turn of phrase or a descriptive passage, until the book grabs you by the balls and rips them right off, breaking your heart and your psyche in the process.†— Brian Keene, author of Dark Hollow and The Rising I’ve said it many times and believe it more everyday, Lee Thompson is not only the next big name at Delirium Books but in the genre– Shane Ryan Staley at Darkfuse Publications Lee Thompson’s prose is electric! — Bob Freeman, author of Descendant |

Pauline & Melissa | by John Blandly Oct. 07, 2010 | $0.99 | 11343 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: If you like a book by John Blandly, please give it five stars. If you don't, sorry. Improvements are constantly being made. We (meaning all one of us) know it is an effort to give five stars--they are very heavy. If you do so, let me know. Many of John Blandly's books are novellas and novelettes. Or, maybe they should be called micronovels. He started writing screenplays about ten years ago, and suddenly he couldn't write anything longer than 100 pages. He tried to put in a lot of dialogue, fast paced action and quick cuts, as if you were watching a movie. One ebook, "For Esme--With Love," even includes short scripts. It has been said that there is never a final version of a screenplay--just the current one. If you think your script is perfect, just pick it up in a few weeks or months. Spontaneously, it seems, typos, plot flaws, and all sorts of errors appear, as if out of nowhere. That's like an ebook. There is one way ebooks are better than printed books for a writer--you can easily revise them--edit--fix mistakes--make the book better, as I've recently done with "Kiss Me, I'm Irish," "BombDown," "Girlfriends Lost," and "Peeps." "The Volunteers" was originally published in "Studio" (Australia). I love Australia and hope some day to visit there. South America too. Love stories--that's what I like in a book or a movie. Some love stories here are "Girlfriends Lost," and "The Volunteers." There may be others. I have always been interested in astronomy. I get new books almost every year (almanacs), since there are always new discoveries. "The Meddlers," and "Peeps" deal with what might happen if there was virtual travel to nearby stars, which I think will happen. I am continuing to work on Enhanced eBooks, which includes photos or films or music. Here, "The Underground," is perhaps the best example, but there is some enhancement with photos or art in "Famous Fake Books," "Rock Star Diet," and "Girlfriends Lost." I just added a new improved version of Rock Star Diet, with more jokes, and photos of my favorite rock stars. Check out my films by searching johnblandly on YouTube. Phantom of the Art Gallery http://www.youtube.com/user/JohnBlandly#p/u/0/XiDzQvtkbcA I reside in the wilderness of the New York frontier. Here are some links to navigate with me! "Abbie," the love story of Frankie and Maisie, who get involved in the drama of Abbie Hoffman's underground life in the Thousand Islands http://www.synergebooks.com/ebook_abbie.html me book of poetry--just jokes in the form of poems http://synergebooks.com/ebook_new&easypoems.html If you've got nothing better to do, you can read my hopefully somewhat accurate poems about the meaning of life. Good luck! Also, please buy a copy of one of my novellas or novelettes from Smashwords. It is said that a prophet is not without honor except in his home town. Based on sales of my books, looks like my home town is--THE WORLD! The young adult novelette, The Volunteers, is based on a number of true stories, or more accurately, harrowing experiences. Girlfriends Lost is completely fictional--I wish! I do not know how to explain it right now except to say, Caesar used to write about himself in the third person, but he had far better adventures. So, enjoy reading "The Death of John Blandly, Continued," included in this novella, and if you can figure it out, let me know, at jjbrearton@aol.com. A novelette that I first published here has now been released as an ebook by Aripublishing.com. It is a surprisingly popular young adult western story. Here's the gigantic link: Ruthy’s New Texas Lawyer Friend, by John Blandly http://www.amazon.com/Ruthys-Texas-Lawyer-Friend-ebook/dp/B004WLOR70/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1306963354&sr=1-1 Some of the covers of my books use photos courtesy of Freedigitalphotos.net. http://twitter.com/blandly |

Blood Moon (Book 2 in Blood Series) | by T. Lynne Tolles Oct. 05, 2010 | $2.99 | 57861 words | Sample 15% |
| Author bio: I never intended on being an author. It had never my life’s dream to write or be published, but after reading a stack of books in June and July of 2009, I got an idea. ‘Hmmm. I wonder if I could write a book about vampires? There’d have to be vampires, werewolves, and maybe some witches just to make it interesting.’ And just to talk myself into it, I thought it might be a good way for my teenage daughter to see that if you set your mind to something, even a goofy old mom could accomplish something. Three weeks later ‘Blood of a Werewolf’ was complete. Blood of a Werewolf became the first of five books in the Blood series which was completed in June 2011. I've also written an unrelated book called Somber Island. I presently getting ready to release Mirror of Shadows in 2012 and have two other books in process. |

The Volunteers | by John Blandly Oct. 01, 2010 | $0.99 | 3993 words | Sample 30% |
